How To Reduce Lag On A Laptop

How to reduce lag in Baldur's Gate 2?

Ok, so I bought Baldur's Gate 2 and installed it on my laptop with no problem. My laptop is a Dell running on an i5 quad core. The OS is Windows 7.

Now, when I play the game I get lag every few seconds, I really want to play it, but it lags so bad that I just can't stand to. I've tried adjusting the graphics settings but nothing there seems to help.
So my question is, what can I do to get this game to stop lagging?

Laptop Lag problem?

obviously for me is overheat issue. happen to me once. initially no problem when start play the games. after 10 mins the game start to lag. how old is your laptop? old laptop has dust at the fans. no matter how powerful a loptop is, always need to clean up at least once a year. no worries in your case. you can clean up by ur self, or send it to the computer shop or you can use warranty is the laptop still have it. =)

My laptop has high specs but it still lags in every game. How do I fix this?

Thanks for A2A.The truth is that you can't expect great performance on a budget laptop in comparison with performances of desktops available out there. However, trying these tweaks, you can maximize your gaming performance:Always keep your drivers up-to-date. In this case, go to Nvidia's official page to download the latest driver. Never use third party drivers. In Windows control panal, change power mode from balanced to high performance mode both in battery & plugged in mode. Use this same methodology in Nvidia control panal. While gaming, avoid using minimized or hidden applications running. Use task manager to kill those unwanted apps. Now let me unveil the most effective tick to increase FPS in gaming. Always disable anti-alising (MSAA, TXAA, FXAA, SSAA etc.), vertical synchronization, ambient occlusion (SSAO, HBAO etc.) and lower the anisotropic filtering to 2x or 4x or just disable it. Sometimes, you can lower the resolution to get huge FPS boost. Believe me this trick gonna make your laptop run every game till this date in playable frames. You may use game boosters like Razer Cortex etc. in order to get 2% to 5% increase in performance.

How to reduce lag on Adventure Quest Worlds?

I recently became a member in AQW and have noticed a bit of lagging when around a few people or attacking monsters. Being a member hasn't anything to do with the lagging, and I have tried lowering my graphic option to Low, turned off pets, capes, helmets etc... but I just can't find a solution. I mostly get it when I am fighting more than one mob, or just one even. It feels like it takes forever to show my skill being used and even when it does, it takes a while to hit the monster. It is sort of bare-able, but if there is any solution you guys may find, I would be more than happy to try it out. I have also been trying to use Game Booster, clearing my cache, clearing unnecessary files etc with no help. I have also been going on the member only servers due to their low population but I don't necessarilly think it has to do with anything other than the fighting to be honest and when I am around a lot of people. I have seen videos of people able to run through Yulgar (the main shop) without any lag at all, but it seems when I do it it takes forever for my character to reach the opposite side and looks as if I am going in slow motion.

I don't think RAM is an issue either, as I can run WoW perfectly fine without any lag (I get over 100ms, but the max I get is 300 at times, not too bad). My router is sort of old, so I may think that can be the problem. Also, it could be something with the internet, I am using Google Chrome at the moment but I don't know. If anyone uses a program or something that can help boost AQW I would really appreciate it if you could let me know what it is as I really like this game and I want to be able to play it lag free. Thanks!
