How To Remove Cooking Oil Stain

Is it too late to remove oil stain?

I changed my oil in my truck about a month ago and got engine oil on my jeans. The jeans have been washed several times since. I didn't realize how noticeable the stains were until the last time I wore them, which was on Wednesday. So is it too late to get the stains out? If not how would I go about removing the stain? Thanks!

How to remove cooking oil stains from asphalt?

On New Year's Day, the day after my huge party, a friend of mines was helping me clean my house. We had used a deep fryer to fry some of the food we served. Anyhow, long story short, my friend threw the used cooking oil down my gutter thinking that the rain was going to wash it away (it was suppose to rain a day or two later. First, before you guys jump to conclusons, I know that he's an idiot for not properly disposing it and also for not telling me that he was gonna do that. I didn't make a fuss about it when I learn that that's what he did cause it's already done. Anyhow, my father came over that day to help clean and he parked his car in my driveway, he came in and out of the driveway running over the oil and spreading it all over the street. I should have washed it then but didn't because I had my hands tied with other priorities. That was my fault.

I didn't try to remove it until days later. My first attempt was Purple Power. I bought a gallon and diluted it with 2 part water. Poured it and I let it sit there for a few minutes (30 minutes max) and then washed it off. It didn't do much, it actually made a whole different stain. Then yesterday, I tried vinegar and baking soda, that didn't work either.

Is there any degreaser out there that can remove a 2-3 week old stain without me having to wash it off. The thing is, it is too much work for me to wash it because the stains left by the car tires stretches from the front of my house to about 4 houses down. I need a degreaser that I can put on there without washing. Or perhaps, I can wait until it is about to rain and pour the degreaser right before it does.

Any help will be appreciated.

Books: How do I remove cooking oil from a page in a textbook?

I sincerely hope that the print hasn't smudged ( it happens with the NCERT textbooks)1) The safest, tried and tested method- gently spread (do not rub )a layer of talcum powder or cornflour/cornstarch over the oil stained page. Let it stick like that for a while ,then brush it off.Repeat till stain is considerably removed. Talcum powder and cornstarch have an ability to absorb oil/moisture to a certain extent!2)If you do not want to use the powder technique, go for this. Place tissue paper ( paper kitchen towels also work well)on both sides of the affected page(s). Shut the book and then place something heavy on the top. But ,this method has its risks. Sometimes, in the case of extremely bad quality paper/printing ink, the printed words may tend to stick on to the tissue paper :/.Cheers. I hope the oil stain comes out .(this has happened to my 11th std Biology textbook.. It was NOT a pretty sight)
