How To Resize Only One Icon On Ios Homescreen

What does your smartphone's homescreen look like?

I recently switched from Samsung Galaxy S5 to the Galaxy Note 5. I decided to try it despite the lack of replaceable battery and SD card. It also uses the standard micro USB port instead of the newer USB 3 connection which is on the S5 and the Note 3. Don't know why they did that.I prefer a “pretty” homescreen and dislike the bright modern icons. I use art, nature, or Doctor Who images and change them by whim, season, or holiday. This my current homescreen. Using Go Launcher I can have multiple screens I can scroll through. This picture is summery and the woman is reading. Librarian here. The icons are from a vintage theme for Go Launcher. Left is messaging, middle is app drawer and right is phone. The dock also scrolls. This dock has SoundHound, Google calendar, and camera.Scrolling right from the homescreen, I haveOn the left is public library sign for Google Chrome and Keep Calm & Pay Your Bills icon for a folder with bank, credit union, Sprint, Amazon, etc, bill pay links. At the top left is Note Widget which I use for reminders. On the right I use pictures as icons with my much-loved Circle Launcher app. Very top is most-used contacts - my children, sister, friends.Next one down is often used apps, again using Circle LauncherI hate these icons. The Go Launcher Ardigraf Vintage theme I had on my S5 is no longer in the Play Store. The vintage theme I was forced to use doesn't make vintage icons for all apps. I found the old theme online but when I downloaded it, it only opened to weird spam ads. Grrr. Also on the right are shortcuts to Pinterest and Contacts and the one that reads “Questions Answered Here, Even the Silly Ones” is Quora! My next screen is this:Google Calendar using Month Calendar widget.Next screen:Left top, Yahoo Weather widget. Map of Wales is Circle Launcher with maps and location apps. Adele on left is YouTube.Right top is an illustration from “Pride and Prejudice” Gallery shortcut. Card catalog is My Files shortcut. Next down is this illustration from Jasper Fforde's wonderful novel “Lost in a Good Book”Which is a Circle Launcher icon for all my book and reading apps. Then Adele again for music apps:I have fun changing the icons when the mood strikes.EDIT: 10/21/16: October and approaching All Hallow's Eve:Edit: 11/2/16: Halloween is past. When designing a mobile app, for what screen size and resolution should I create my designs?

Android is the elephant in the room when it comes to app design. Android currently has the majority of smartphone market share and that it is being used on everything from tablets to e-readers. Android’s multiple devices and form factors make it feel like designing for it is an uphill battle. The old baseline for screens supported for Android smartphone devices was the T-Mobile G1, the first commercially available Android-powered device which has an HVGA screen measuring 320 x 480 pixels. With the release of iOS 7, app designers and developers will need to adjust their visual language to match the new "flat" design of iOS. In addition to the grid system, the dimensions of icons and commonly used elements, typography and iconography has been updated by Apple in many ways. Since iOS 7 is not supported on older models of the iPhone and iPod (only 4+), this guide will only cover the supported devices.iOS Apps Resolutions:iOS Apps Displays:

Android user planning on switching to,Windows Phone..a couple questions?

Hi Lana,

1. Most people tend to find that Android has the steepest learning curve out of iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Windows Phone is very easy to use. The home screen is a single page of shortcuts to your favourite people, apps and information. You can press and hold on them to resize or reorganise them. From the home screen, if you swipe to the left there is an alphabetised listing of all the apps on your phone.

2. To open and keep a Microsoft account does not cost anything. You can head over to outlook.com to create one now (you can even use your existing email address if you want). Alternatively, you will already have a Microsoft account if you have ever used Xbox Live, Hotmail/Outlook, Windows Live Messenger. You can only choose one Microsoft account, so choose carefully.

3. There are 165,000 apps in the Store - so most of the essentials are covered. Some of my favourite apps are Nokia Music (for completely free and unlimited music mixes), Temple Run, Instance (Instagram), WhatsApp and SoundHound.

4. The greatest weakness with Windows Phone is definitely the apps. For the price, the Lumia 521 is definitely an awesome phone; it works really well and its very easy to use.

Hope this helps!

Is it possible to use action sheets instead of buttons in iOS?

[1] Actually Action Sheet and UI Button are two different UI elemnet. I think you need some clear idea about Action Sheet and it's usage. An action sheet is a specific style of alert that appears in response to a control or action, and presents a set of two or more choices related to the current context. Use an action sheet to let people initiate tasks, or to request confirmation before performing a potentially destructive operation. You can show an Action Sheet on any button click. But follow the Apple UI guidelines before that.Footnotes[1] iOS Human Interface Guidelines
