IMVHO, it starts with face-to-face dialogue before the computer is powered up or the cellphone turned on (most cellphones have internet access). --The online names should NOT your own name. Use a nickname or a made-up name. --NEVER open an e-mail or a link from someone you don't know. --NEVER give your name or other personal information to anyone online. --If you must post a picture online, post one that doesn't have anything that would identify your where you live. And no inappropriate pictures. --If someone you don't know tries to instant-message you online, asks for personal information, or asks for inappropriate pictures/actions, tell a parent or trusted adult. --Some ISPs have separate sites for children (Yahoo/Yahooligans) or a separate setting (AOL). Take advantage of them. --If someone wants to take inappropriate pictures/webcam shots of you, refuse and immediately call the adults.

You can take an enterprise approach to this:Identify the traffic you wish to allow, allow it using the stateful firewall features built into your edge equipment, and deny everything else. Bittorrent clients typically do not listen on well-known ports, so allowing say web traffic (TCP port 80 and 443) would effectively prevent torrent traffic from flowing. If your factory firmware doesn't have a firewall feature, look at 3rd party firmware like DD-WRT.

Bad luck, guy... Your father probably set the limitation in the Router Set up (since it's affecting more than one computer in the house). Most newer routers have a "web" set up function built in. You could try to access it via your web browser by keying in "192.168.1.1" in the URL line (without the quotes). There are some other TCP/IP addresses that you might try... let me know if the TCP/IP address above doesn't work. Even if you find the right TCP/IP address, you'll probably have another problem... most configuration utilities are set up to have a password you enter before you are allowed in. Give them my credit card number and all. Later the next day I canceled it but I have been worried ever since about them stealing my information and causing credit card theft or even worst identity theft. I need some help because I am losing it! What are the chances of theft happening?
