How To Retract This Bid After Contacting Seller

What happens if I retract a bid on eBay ?

Yes, the seller can report you for breaking the rules and retracting the bid. When reported, you may find you are suspended from bidding on any auction for 2 weeks. (If there's only 8 hours left, you can't retract anyway.)

The correct form is to ask the seller to cancel your bid before the auction ends.

If the auction finishes and you win, then you can still ask, and offer to pay the seller his fees if they will let you off the hook and not file an unpaid item dispute. (If they file the dispute, you will get suspended.)

Ebay; Retracting Bid and Cannot contact seller.?

I very recently made an Ebay account, I'm only 16 and odviously don't have money to splurge on items. I bid on an item and immediately decided I didn't want it. I tried to contact the seller, but this message keeps popping up "We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing." I understand the rules of retracting bids and how to do so, but how can I when I'm not allowed to contact him? Other forums say a Seller can block people from certain countries from contacting them. Does this mean my bid will be pushed away, due to my location? I'm kinda stressed out. All help is appreciated!!

I Won A Bid On EBay, Can't Contact the Seller?

I had finally found this shirt that I was in love with at topshop but it was out of stock so I went to eBay. I found a girl who was selling hers, bidded, and won. I live in the U.S., the seller lives in the U.K.
I click pay now but it says " Topshop Uk12 Scallop Trim Canary Yellow Crop Top BlouseQty:1GBP 7.50
Please change your address or contact the seller to request an exception by requesting total. "
I requested an exception by contacting the seller, haven't heard anything in 2 days. But she has alot of positive feedback. There's also another girl who's selling the same shirt, but the auction ends in an hour . I've talked to her and she says she does ship to the U.S. (also from U.K.)
Should I bid for this one and forget about the one I won? Or should I wait until I hear something from the seller of the auction I won?

How do you retract a bid on Ebay?

CANCELING A BID ON EBAYSellers can cancel bids for a few reasons. The buyer requests you cancel the bid, the item is no longer fit or available for sale, you made an error in your listing or you are concerned about the buyer. eBay discourages canceling for obvious reasons so you will only usually be able to cancel a bid for these reasons. Here’s how to cancel a bid:Log into eBay and go to this page.Enter the item number in the top box and the username of the bidder you want to cancel underneath.Select a reason for the cancelation.Select Cancel bid.If you have certain criteria for bidders, such as low feedback or satisfaction scores, it is a good idea to say so in your advert. You could require those with feedback of less than 20 to contact you first or bar them altogether. Saying so up front should prevent you having to cancel bids. You can also block bidders from buying from you.BLOCKING BIDDERS FROM YOUR AUCTIONSIf you have persistent pests who keep bidding on your listings and messing you around, you can block them. It is a legitimate tool used within eBay and can be useful in those rare occurrences when someone is just trying to cause trouble or lower your feedback score.Log into eBay and go to this page.Enter the username of the person you want to block in the box.Select Submit to save. You can add up to 5,000 different usernames into your blocked list. It is a little known tool but can be exceptionally useful when you come up against competitors who play dirty or someone who just wants to mess you around. For complete step by step process read- How to Cancel a Bid on eBay as A Buyer Or Seller

This seller on ebay won't cancel my order, is there anything i can do?

I could have sworn someone outbid me and so i never went back on ebay and assumed the problem was solved. but somehow i won the shoes. i feel really bad about it too. i know the guy wants his money. i sent him a message explaining and he replied "is binding and contractual" so he's not budging. if i ignore this will it go away? what can i do?! :(

If I order something on eBay and I requested to cancel and the seller hasn't responded for 5 hours, what should I do?

Do you mean ‘buy’ or do you mean “bid”.If you are bidding on an auction, you don’t need anything from the seller to cancel. Just Retract your bid. There are only a few reasons and they are very restrictive. Lie. No one except a few very anal and paranoid sellers really care. No one needs a buyer who is being forced into a transaction. If you have actually bought (but not yet paid) and the seller is ignoring you, just don’t pay. At worst, he opens an Unpaid Item Dispute, wins and you get a Strike against your account. If this is the first ever, you can have it removed. If you do this often, with the second Strike you will find yourself unable to bid or buy with most sellers, who set their Preferences to automatically Block deadbeats with Strikes. Both of these methods of dealing with unwanted purchases are ‘eBay illegal’ and there will be many posts objecting and saying so. Up to you.Note that the seller has invested his time and money in advertising the product and he will want to get that money back. Also if there were more than one customer interested you have disappointed them and also made it harder for the seller to make a real sale. And as others have said, five hours is way too short a period for an international site with millions of home businesses involved. Give at least 24 hours, and longer on weekends. If the reason you are cancelling is that you believe the listing to be fraudulent, there is a Report button on every listing and the Customer Service link is a the bottom of the page.

I accidentally bid too much on eBay?

bid may be retracted (cancelled) by the buyer in some cases if the retraction meets the requirements of our Bid Retraction policy.

Note: There is no equivalent for bid retraction in Buy It Now listings, or for listings where the bidding has ended. Once you've confirmed your purchase, you are obligated to pay the seller. There is also no equivalent for bid retraction for item listings using the Best Offer feature.

Whether you can retract your bid or not depends on the following factors:

Why you are retracting your bid;

When your bid was placed and when the listing ends.

You can retract a bid or a Best Offer for the following reasons:

You make a typographical error and enter the wrong bid amount. For instance, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this occurs, enter the correct bid amount immediately after you retract your bid. If you do not place another bid, the retraction will be in violation of eBay's policy and could result in your suspension. Please review the retraction guidelines if you need to retract your bid.

The description of an item you have bid on changed significantly after you placed your bid.

You cannot contact the seller. This means that you tried to call the seller, but his or her phone number doesn't work, or that you have tried emailing a message to the seller and it comes back undeliverable.
There are special rules about retracting bids, depending on when you originally placed the bid.

What happens if I cancel negotiations on a Sedo domain bid thread?

To answer your 2nd question, no they don't.  There's no way to reopen negotiations, and since bidding on Sedo is anonymous, generally if you break off negotiations as a buyer, it's done unless you can make a new offer.  I do think sellers can contact Sedo's support to get them to relay a lower price to the buyer after negotiations are cut off, but speaking as a seller myself, if a buyer cuts it off, I move onto other business. You can always try contacting the buyer through the whois email on the domain.  Bearing in mind that Sedo charges commission on a sale, if they accept direct sales, you can possibly get it for less that way anyways.  I personally prefer direct contact so that I can engage the buyer directly and do future business with them.

What happens if we bid the highest in an auction but refuse to buy later?

When you bid in an auction, you are entering into a binding verbal agreement with the auctioneer that you will pay for the object you’re bidding on at that hammer price plus any stated taxes or premiums. You agree to these terms when you register for an auction. After winning a lot at auction, it is auction standard that the purchaser has an obligation to pay for the objects, as is, where is. A typical auction has objects available for preview and detailed condition reports for buyers, and urge them to only bid with confidence. By choosing to bid in an auction, you indicate that you understand and accept these terms. Should a successful bidder choose not to pay, an auctioneer has every legal right to seek payment for purchased items, including canceling the sale and reoffering the property without reserve.Typically a defaulted lot is either reoffered or returned to the consignor, but can be “tainted” to the marketplace. Sometimes bidders are more hesitant to bid on objects that are reoffered, and they lose a bit of their “new-to-market” luster. Also, it takes much longer to complete the consignment process, so it is a bother to consignors seeking to get paid. When objects are accurately represented, which is standard for top auction houses, this can be a hellish situation from an administrative standpoint. When you consider the cost of advertising and cataloging and running an auction in general, bad bidders are a serious problem for auction houses. As for what happens to the bidder, it is on a case by case basis, but you can be sure that they won’t be welcome to bid at that auction house any longer. Also, I want to note that on certain items or in certain auctions, houses sometimes ask for a deposit, or a credit card on file, or a line of credit before bidding. Finally, I want to say that auction houses are aware that they make mistakes, and while refunds are not likely, there are instances where they are acceptable. That said, there’s often ample opportunity to know what you’re bidding on before the auction takes place.
