How To Save Bios Change

How to know if your BIOS can't be changed?

I'm on a HP 110-014 hoping to overclock the processor a bit, but I don't think it's .... allowed? I've hit the delete key and activated the little menu, but haven't found anything on advanced settings or any sort of changes. Is this one of those computers that can't do it on USB keyboards? Thanks.

Why my BIOS won't allow me to change the CPU speed?

Overclocking is not nearly as simple as picking a desired speed and rebooting to find a magically faster computer.A great many factors determine the speed your CPU runs at, as well as the speed that it is capable of running at. Temperature limits, bus speeds, clock multiplier, CPU voltage, to name a few.Overclocking successfully is the result of skill, knowledge and luck. It involves multiple incremental increases of speed, followed by multiple processes of stress and stability testing. You should read up on the subject before making any further attempts to overclock your system. This is a good start: How to overclock your CPUEDITED to add: Don’t just dive in and start changing things. If you get the settings wrong, if you’re lucky, you’ll just make your system less stable. If you’re unlucky, you will shorten (perhaps considerably) the lifespan of your processor. Regardless, when you start overclocking, you may well void any warranty your system has. Even my FX8350 Black Edition (selected and approved for overclocking) warranty states that overclocking renders the warranty null and void.

I’m trying to change my Instagram bio. When I’ve put into the bio edit screen what I want, it won’t let me save as it says it exceeds the 150 character limit. However it doesnt and in fact I have 16 characters left to play with. Can anyone help?

wonderful greetings ! the emojis count as at least 2 characters depending on the emoji but the ig character calculator only computes each emoji as 1 character. So, if you have 10 emojis that’s about 20–22 characters that ig will count as 10 ; indicate 10–12 more characters than you actually have remaining. Every emjoi is calculated as at least 2 characters; a few of them are actually counted as 3 but the character count indicator only counts emojis as 1 character. If your total character count reads 7 remaining but still not letting you save, Count your emojis If your emojis equal 5 that’s 10 or 5 characters not being counted . Subtract 5 or 6 from seven and you really have 1–2 spaces remaining and have used the other 5 or 6 in emojis. Manipulated your characters accordingly, deleting some of the emojis or 2–3 letter characters for every emoji !  ✨

Why am I unable to save BIOS options after an Ubuntu 17.10 upgrade?

What you claim is not credible. The behavior of your BIOS does not depend on what OS is installed or even whether any OS at all has been installed. Something else is going on here, so maybe you should say more about what was working, how you have inferred that this is not working, and exactly what you did before it stopped working. If your system really uses UEFI, you need to say that. Could Secure Boot be an issue? Before you give a short comment here, add the information as a comment on the question so all will see it.

Why doesn’t my Lenovo laptop BIOS save my settings? It also will not boot any OS from a bootable USB or DVD.

Try replacing your bios battery. It sounds as if the battery is dead. It's a little wafer style camera battery found on the motherboard. It's easy to replace, simply remove it and put a new one in its place. If this is a laptop, it may be a little more difficult to replace as you'll have to open the case and may even have to move around the motherboard. But the battery is generally the same as it is in a desktop.

NEED help ASUS K51AC show mw is battery low. i change cmos battery still hvae same message!?

got a new battery with same number as old one.

The problem is that when you get that message you have two options:
key F1 for Bios or F2 for OS.
when in Bios you can make changes but when you do 'Save and Exit'
the changes are Not Saved. The Bios settings all go to Default and the Date/time does not stay changed.
Same thing happens if you set Date/time in Windows OS, the settings will not stay after a Re-boot.

I've only found one other person reporting this, when I did an Internet search,
and No one replied with a logical answer.

some know how i can fix this?

How can I reset the BIOS settings to the default settings?

Changes to a systems BIOS or UEFI may cause the system to boot abnormally. If you are having trouble booting your system, you may try to reset your BIOS/UEFI settings to default.Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 for notebooks or Delete for desktops to enter the BIOS.Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit. For Dell:1.Resetting BIOS Defaults Via the Reset Defaults OptionsIf the system is able to complete POST.Restart the system. Click on Start, Turn off Computer and Restart. At the Dell loading screen Tap F2 to enter the BIOS. "Entering Setup" will appear when the command has been recognised. Certain models may use a different key. The key will be displayed during the boot process. For most Dell laptops and desktops, the key is F2.Once loaded, depending on BIOS age and type, you can reset the defaults by either using F9 key to Load Defaults (Shown as an option at the bottom of the screen), the Alt + F key combination, or the Load Defaults button shown on the screen, to load the factory defaults.Press Esc on your keyboard and select Save and exit, or click the Exit button, again depending on the version you have.Choose the Enter key to save all changes and exit the BIOS screen. Allow your system to restart for the BIOS settings to reset.

BIOS supervisor password saved to ROM instead of CMOS?

You cannot write or alter any data present in a ROM memory because it is Read Only Memory. A BIOS also has two memory locations as RAM and ROM (actually EEPROM). The BIOS ROM is where the monitoring programs are loaded and that are a must for booting your system. These data contains the POST sequence, BIOS ui data and all. So you can't make any changes in it. The BIOS RAM area is where the editable data is stored. Like the time, date and all such data you can actually change. So if you save the password to BIOS RAM memory, they can be deleted if we remove the CMOS battery. But if you store the password in ROM, it cannot be deleted by simply removing the battery. Got it? Enjoy! :)

Note- BIOS ROM is actually an EEPROM. It is because of this we can flash the BIOS and load new firmware in it if the BIOS got corrupted.
