How To Slow Down My Mind

How do you slow your mind down?

Take it all in slowly.
What are you worried about. Try to think about everything slower as in one thing at a time.
I can't really say anything more cause I can literally shut down emotions...>.>

Try to focus on eye sequencing. Hitter ball hitter setter ball hitter is the formal eye sequence (where your eyes should track on the opposing side of the net). To practice this overtime try starting with setter ball hitter. To start, be aware of where your setter is. If the pass is a good pass that you think the setter can run all three hitters off of yell on! This helps you realize that all hitters are available. If the pass restricts the setter of only setting two or one hitter yell off!  When this happens you are able to better adjust yourself to the next play that is about to happen. This gives your brain time to realize that certain movements and attacks were restricted.  You should direct your eyes from the moment the ball touches the setters hands to your hitter on the other side of the net. Do not watch the ball after you know where it has been sent by the setter, watch the hitter.  Your hitter will tell you everything you need to know. If her elbow is by her head she will roll or tip. If it is extended she will hit. This takes practice but this will help you increase your ability to keep up with the game. Once you get this sequence add hitter ball hitter. This means that before the pass is made notice where your hitter is positioned and who your hitter is. Then notice where the ball is before the set is made "on or off" then go back to your hitter. This will tell you what your hitter is running and where she will attack from. Then you look to your setter for the official on or off call and the direction and speed of the set. Then back at your hitter for the type of attack and the angle you should be blocking. Practicing this sequence very slowly and overtime will greatly improve your ability to keep up with faster tempo  teams.

Do you mind slowing down?

The only after-effect of masturbation is a feeling of sexual relief and relaxation. It is not known to lead to serious physical or mental illness, or sterility. Neither does it lead to hairy hands, falling hair, mental retardation, abnormal children, or causing "bottons" in your case. These myths may be partly due to centuries of religious and cultural beliefs that view masturbation as sinful, and harmful.

How do I slow down my mind?

When I was little as an example I could look at the carpet and notice all of the little things about it. As I got older I began to lose that, I can't even focus on anything. My brain is always thinking of future events current events and passed events I frequently forget about the present.

It's so severe that by the time I decide I want to go get a drink 3 seconds later I kind of forget that I chose to do it because I'm so entranced in thought. Sometimes it leaves me feeling as if I have depersonalization. I don't think I do but I do think my brain is so hyper active that it causes the same symptoms.

Being tired increases the symptoms. I noticed this when I was in school at first because I would be reading for whatever reason, a text based math question as an example and I'd have to force myself to read it 10+ times because before I could finish the question I began day dreaming.

I feel as if I'm kind of in auto-pilot because of this. I do everything normally however being so deep in thought can make it feel as if it's not really happening. I guess the best way to describe it is waking up from sleep and immediately being thrown into a conversation or something along those lines.

I don't know if it's related either but I think because my mind is always so occupied I can't fall asleep unless I've been up so long or I'm so ridiculously tired that I can't function. Otherwise my brain is racing. So I tend to sleep 8 hours and stay up 20+ hours and because of this my schedule is constantly fluctuating.

I have no doubt in my mind this is why I didn't finish school. What can I do?

How do you slow things down in your mind?

This is one of the toughest things for any one to achieve, most especially someone with a super fast mind.

Firstly it will depend on the reasons that your mind is super fast.
Do you have a reason why it is that way and is that more to do with brain chemical imbalance than conscious control of your thoughts?

One of the most powerful ways I have discovered to focus and slow the mind and dift down into a deep place of relaxation is what they call crossing the alpha bridge.

When our mind is active it is in beta. When we close our eyes we can easily drift into alpha which is a more relaxed state right there. Now, if we open our eyes half way after having them closed around a minute, but not try to focus on anything, just looking down, we open for around 5 seconds and then close again. We feel ourselves drifting down fast, like a lift going down. Then after half a minute, we open our eyes again but just a quarter this time, for five seconds and then close again, you will feel yourself drift down very deep into a relaxed place of theta or delta. Once here, you can just focus on your breathing and turn all your thoughts into breathing.

Even if you only do this for five minutes, you feel refreshed and more relaxed.

One of the problems with always being on fast forward is that we can get tired and make mistakes. Even if we slow our brain down just for a few minutes a day, it can have a beneficial effect. Our thoughts are clearer, less jumbled, more complete.

What is the point?

Well, that would depend on what you want to achieve and the reasons why someone has advised you to do this.

In any case, crossing the alpha bridge is worth a try. It doesnt take long and I know that it has helped me.

A person will try to empty his mind so that he can go to deep sleep. As a person grows, he has all kinds of bad emotions stored up inside him. These bad emotions will in turn affect his energy circulations and make him hard to go to sleep. Thus he needs to empty his mind just like he will empty out his dumpster. To empty out the garbage, there are many ways. One of the ways is to void the mind into null. He will let go. He will let go of all physical activities such as hearing and seeing and eventually he will have an empty mind.It takes a lot of practice to do that. In order to go about it gradually, he usually starts by focusing in one physical activity, such as focusing on his breathing. After a few trials, he will be able to do so.

You do not directly control the mind. It has an impersonal nature or Not Self quality to it called Anatta. The point of meditation is not to slow down the mind but to learn from it, “HOW it is working”. Knowing HOW is part of the wisdom you develop. We have a very bad association with the word “meditation”. It being something passive and to be done on a cushion and we become “relaxed” and all the images of candles and incense sticks etc… What I am suggesting is an active exercise in knowing how mind's attention moves and finding out how every phenomenon is impersonal, impermanent and “HOW” we create Stress. We are not interested in the “Why”.We have a simple solution which is called 6R - It is right effort as per Buddha but we have modified it and made it simple.1- Recognize :- When you are on your object of meditation such as “Loving Kindness” which is helpful in reducing stress and you realize your attention is on a thought. You recognize this.2- Release :- You let that thought be. Do not suppress or push it away. It is like if you were holding an ball in your fist and you just release it, the ball falls down, no pushing or suppressing.3- Relax :- When your attention is wandering there is a physical tension in the body. This is a deliberate action of relaxing. Generally found area of tension is head.4- Re-Smile :- We say “Re-smile” as smiling is part of our meditation. This keeps your mind relaxed and you also become aware of your distraction more easily if you are smiling.5- Return:- Return to the object of meditation.6- Remain:- Try and remain on the object of meditation as long as possible. For more information go to Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center

This is an excellent question and you should be proud of yourself because most adults do not even realize their mind is out of control.Don't worry yourself with terms like 'psychology". Learning to quiet the mind is the foundation of the most ancient practices known to man. All of these traditions teach it is the key to a fulfilling and happy life. This is what you do.....Simply let your thoughts come and go, but DO NOT attach yourself to them. Become the observer of your thoughts. Do not think "thats a good thought" or "thats a bad thought"....do not judge your thoughts at all. Let them be what they are. Watch your thoughts and notice how unpredictable and scattered they are (yes, this is totally normal) And then you will realize you are not your thoughts. This way, the mind no longer has any power of you and you will be able to be fully present in each moment, no longer wanting to rush to the next thought. Letting each thought be exactly what it wants to be, but yet having no effect on you. "Learn to rule your mind, or it will rule you" - Buddha

Hyper-priming is associated with marijuana effects and hyper-priming is a sort of relation to everything mechanism. You don’t want too much hyper-priming, or else everything seems connected; the web of associations becomes a source of delusions. But for many creative tasks it’s important to cultivate an expansive associative net, or what psychologists refer to as a “flat associative hierarchy”. You must meditate or take small amounts of THC or medicinal purpose marijuana. Of course i am NOT suggesting you do this at a young age. If your of age, I would consider small amounts of THC but if your going crazy and sleepless nights are ahead of you, dont get addicted. Just in moderation of all things will the body be balanced. Some call marijuana “the devils lettuce”, a fallacy for symbolizing an ascribed word to dissociate people from answering the simple questions that are missed. Is alcohol worse than marijuana? Unless your scared the bakery isle wont have strawberry filled donuts with blueberry powder on them, alcohol is the killer. The question was how do I slow my brain down? Not how to relax. Natural chemicals are the only chemicals I will decide to inform of. Pills are frowned upon, that is because it is not regulated as well as it should be. Seems like nowadays the only alternative is to be fooled unless you are the fooler. We do live in the most reflective time in human history because of our devastating feats. “It is not the lack of emotions that is to be blamed nor the lack of blaming but the lack of control over our emotions and thoughts as a human species”.(Everything in moderation)Not for reproduction

How can I get my dogs to slow down?

I have a 16 month old Jack/Boston mix and a 10 week old Jack.

They run..and I mean RUN through the house. I don't mind, during the day....but they get it on at midnight.

I don't want to crate them at night because that is only for when we are not her. I didn't crate my Boston/Jack before the new puppy and I am not doing it to her now.

How can I get them to slow down at night.

I mean run...and now they have figured out that they can run around the coffee table (which is about 3' x 3' so they can really get around it)...

They are some fast freaking dogs...
