How To Start Selling Mary Kay

How do i reactivate my mary kay status for selling?

If it's been less then a year since you ordered, you just have to place an order at their website. This means you will be active under the same recruiter and director as you were before.

If it's been more then a year and you want a new director or recruiter, find any Mary Kay consultant and ask them to rejoin. It will cost you $20 for the brochures and samples, and you simply resign the contract. You can sign up with anyone now and do not need to go back to your old recruiter or director. (I know how much that can suck if you hated the person you were under before.)

Think of anyone you know who sells Mary Kay. You are less likely to get pressure to sell from a friend then from a stranger. If you can't think of anyone or find anyone, go to www.marykay.com and ask to be contacted by a consultant. They will call you and you can sign up.

Hope this helps.

I am just starting to sell Mary Kay and I want to know how do you charge taxes and shipping and handling charg

Taxes are based on where the product is being delivered to... So check your local tax rate and also check the tax rate of where you are mailing product, if you are mailing. Tax is on the RETAIL price. So, even if you give a discount, you need to calculate tax on the retail price, not the discount price.

Shipping and handling are up to you. I always do free shipping for over $40 orders. But, you can get an estimated cost by going to usps.com to use for the sale. or, just charge the credit card after you mail it and know the amount. But, I wouldn't recommend doing this for people you don't know!

How do you get started selling Mary Kay online?

The way to get started selling Mary Kay online is to talk with someone who is already doing the business. First, get all your questions answered and understand what the business is about to be sure it is for you. You can learn a lot about the business at Sell Mary Kay . You can click on the “Let’s Start Your Success Story Today” link at Sell Mary Kay to make contact and I can help you.

Can you sell Mary Kay online only?

Yes, some consultants choose to sell 100% online and that's fine. If you can't do personal deliveries then you can ship your customers their orders and you won't even have to leave the house.

If you make over $600 in a year, then yes, you are supposed to claim the income on your taxes. However, with any home based business you will get lots of write offs as long as you keep your receipts. Your cell or home phone and your internet bill all of a sudden become a write off, all your postage to mail customer items, your mileage, your start up costs, any inventory (optional), etc. So you may not owe taxes at all depending on how much you sell.

In order to get started, you have to purchase a Consultant Starter Kit which is $100 plus tax and shipping - total it is about $115 give or take a few dollars depending on what your state sales tax percent is. In the kit you get $323 worth of products, and $200 worth of business supplies/samples.

You make 50% profit from every sale you make. And if you are planning to strictly sell online, then you could sell the $323 in products from your kit and make your investment back right away.

I have lots more info I can give you if you are interested in selling Mary Kay. You can e-mail me at customizedbyu@aol.com and I can send you the link to get started!

How can you sell Mary Kay without having parties?

Are you already signed up with MK and have product?
Selling it is not easy and not having the people to sell to will be even harder. You can try selling it on ebay, but you won't make a dime.

Get out before you've spent every penny you have and are left in despair.
Every single consultant I ever met lied through their teeth about making money. The only way to make any money is to recruit others into selling it.
Then, you have to continue to recruit since so many drop out because they can't sell it either!
Directors don't have that many "parties". They make $ from you buying product! They get a comission.
Don't be fooled about how this company works.

I love the makeup and continue to use it for almost 30 years. I only use the base makeup and nothing else.
But selling it is a totally different story.
Do yourself a favor and read this website, then tell me your eyes haven't just been opened!
I am about to get a zillion negatives for this post. but at least I am honest.

I want to start selling Mary Kay or Premier Jewelry which is better?

I have worked with both and here is what I've found....you make 50% with both. Mary Kay is more profitable however because your customers use it every day rather than once in awhile when it works with their outfit. Plus Mary Kay products are consumable (customers wash it down the drain every night) so re-orders are a huge part of your business.

I had problems with premier jewelry because I found several customers were unable to wear the jewelry due to allergies to the metal and quality to price ratio weren't comparable once they tried Lia Sophia or one of the other jewelry businesses that I can't think of right now.

I can give you more info on Mary Kay if you're interested (like how to earn cars, the truth about inventory etc.)

Good luck with your choice!!

Are there benefits to selling Mary Kay while in college?

My sister (who lives several states away) decided about a year and a half ago that she wanted to start her own Mary Kay business and has done pretty well for herself with it. She has been talking to me about becoming a consultant, and thinks I would do well, too. I'm a college student and could really use the little bit of extra money that this could offer. I have also spoken to her friend who sold Mary Kay in college and she, too did well for herself with it. I realize that by doing this, it is not "easy money" and I'm willing to put work into it. I'm just worried that if I were to become a consultant I would have nobody to buy the product.

Can this be a worthwhile thing?
Any input would be great :)
