How To Stop Cravings For Food At Night And Start Fasting

How much weight did you lose fasting?

Actually!!!!
Fasting is relatively good for you if your in good health that is. Go to a doctor and get a blood test before you do anything to make sure you don't have diabetes or anything else that can complicate your health during a fast. The average weight loss is 11lbs a week. You usually lose the most weight during the first days of the fast but it is usually just water. BUT you do burn fat. the same concept behind the atkins diet is taken into consideration when explaining how we lose weight when we fast. Your body goes through this process in which it starts to use fat as energy instead of sugars that you usually ingest. I fasted for about 9 days and lost around 30 pounds but most of it was just because it was postpartum weight. I only gained about 4lbs but it was just water. i did not gain any further weight...that is until i started college and ate nothing but pizza day and night.

I'm gaining weight really fast! Help!?

So over the past 4 or 5 months I've gained a substantial amount of weight. About 15lbs. Its not extremely noticeable, but its getting there. Its all in like a pocket around my bellybutton and bottom sides of my back. When I sit i notice that my stomach gets pudgy and hands over my pants' waist line. I never had this problem before, i want it to go away! I even been running 1.5-2miles 5 times a week for 3 months. It did NOTHING. It seemed i gained weight even. My eating habits haven't really changed, other than becoming aggressively hungry after runs but I would come home, eat a normal dinner like, a pork-chop with vegetables. And late night snacks like Ritz crackers (late night studying :/). I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each meal under 500 calories. Add maybe another 400 calories in snacks. Its like my metabolism up an ran away. Now I realize my weight isn't bad, i'm about 100lbs now. My torso is REALLY short so that's why the fat is so noticable. I really want to lose(and stop gaining!) this fat, or at-least be able to sit without seeing my stomach hang over. My parents were both the same as me, very skinny, mother had two kids and was still 112lbs! But they never had this weight gain problem. I'm 5'3, 16 yrs old. What should I eat, how much should I run, how to build metabolism, does more sleep help?? What do i do??

Fasting to reduce stress?

I feel better after I fast for a whole day. I have more energy, wake up earlier, and can move around better and get more done. It gives the digestive organs a chance to rest and drinking plenty of water helps clear the liver. If you aren't eating the right foods you probably have and acidic Ph balance in your body, that can cause all the symptoms you mentioned. Healthy foods also taste fantastic because you are truly hungry. The reason I started fasting was because I overindulged in sweets one day, was almost ashamed of myself and decided to skip a whole day and night of eating. I needed to lose weight anyway. Now I'm not craving sweets and what I eat the next day is healthy foods. I am planning to fast every other day until I reach my goal weight.

Who's actually kept the weight off after water fasting?

so lately, i've been thinking about going on a water fast--possibly starting soon as possible. i just wanna lose a little bit of weight. i'm almost 5'2'' and 130lbs. i was 115 last year, so it sucks [almost makes me sick] to look at the extra weight i've gained in a year. when i lost weight 2 summers ago, the weight stayed off for as long as a exercised and counted my calories. IT ALL CAME BACK, though, after i went back to my old eating habits. i'm tried of this, but i know there's really know way to keep it off when i'm eating everything appetizing in sight like a staight up pig.

but anyways, back to water fasting. i've got a few questions. first of all, everytime i hear someone say they're water fasting or thinking about it, someone always seems to say, 'no, don't, you'll gain it all back.' is that TRUE? i wanna know--who on here has actually water fasted, lost weight, and actually KEPT IT OFF? i don't wanna waste my time if it's all gonna come straight back. is there anyway to make it... not come back? like, what if i slowly ease into eating again once i'm done fasting. JUST as an example, say after it's over, i eat...a sandwich the next day. then the second day, i eat a sandwich + fries. third day, i eat a sandwich + fries + macaroni. if i did something like that [not exactly those foods, but you get it...] would the weight still come back? i mean, who has really had good weight loss success from water fasting?
