How to stop failing Geometry?

First step: Stop calling it Gayometry.

Second step: Talk to your teacher. Explain that you want to do better and are willing to put in the time and effort. Teachers want you to succeed! The teacher may let you retake tests, help you with extra tutoring, or suggest extra credit projects for you to do.

Can I graduate if I failed Geometry?

I failed my second semester of geometry my freshman year of high school. Next year, I am going to be a senior, and I still have an F for second semester of Geometry. I have tried to make it up once, and I failed again. I don't think I will ever be able to bring my grade up; I don't understand geometry at all. Next year, my senior year, I will be taking what is technically my fifth year of high school math. Will I be able to graduate if I can't raise my grade?

What should I do if I feel like I failed my geometry exam and I can't stop feeling like my life is over?

Accept the thoughts and feelings. They’re just thoughts and feelings. Your life isn’t over.MAYBE you’re lousy at geometry. LOTS of people are. Accept it and get on with your life. Talk to the school. Either get some help to pass the class next time, or just keep taking the class till you pass, or don’t get your diploma. All those paths continue life. Some may FEEL shameful, but they’re not.People who don’t think will just take thoughts that society gives them. Like “you must graduate high school.” It’s not true. Once you accept that, you’ll have some freedom to find new paths. You don’t say how old you are. I have a brother who did really, really lousy at school. He went to an alternative school and got his diploma by majoring in smoking and swearing. Really, they did nothing. He was a failure…And that summer, for the first time in his life, at age 18 and a half, he started reading pulp fiction- paperbacks, novels. Maybe I’m getting it wrong- it was a long time ago. I think he did that for a year, and waited on tables. But he realized he could read, so he tried community college. He was so anxious about math class that he did extra problems. He got As. He ended up majoring in math and became a math teacher. And the best math teachers are almost always people who started out lousy in math.Different people have different skills. AND they mature at different rates. As a teen, your brain is completely rewiring itself (look it up.) So give it some time and try again. Or keep trying. Or try a different teacher or a different school or a community college this summer. Or focus on other things for a while. Or draw lots of geometric stuff or build stuff. You never know what works. Live, try, enjoy. And relax.

How come everytime I take a math test, I end up failing?

I'm currently taking Geometry in 8th grade. (I skipped PreAlgebra)

Since the beginning of school, I took 4 tests so far.

When I test with the other subjects (History, English, and Science) I do really well, but math is the only problem I have...

Yet every math test I took, I knew how to do the math, but I always end up making little mistakes (as my math teacher tells me). And everytime I get the test back, I would always go Grr! I knew how to do this!

Anyone have any tips for math test taking?

I'm always the 2nd-to-last/last person to finish... & I'm always nervous while taking the math tests and everyone in my class is very competitive (so that doesn't help). Plus everyone exspects me to be SUPER intelligent and I don't want to disappoint anyone, but I recently have (because of my math grade). This was the first time I had ever disappointed my parents..

This has been troubling me for 2 weeks already :( and I can't stop worrying if I'm going to fail the next test too

Why do I keep failing math tests!?

I'm so stressed out. I've only passed 3 math tests. Here's my score on all of them and they were all out of 100, so on the chapter 1 test i got 13/100, chapter 2 i got 51/100, chapter 3 i got 64/100 and then we had a unit test which is a test on chapter 1, 2, and 3 and i got 25/100! Chapter 4 i got 34/100 chapter 5 37/100 and for the unit test i got 41/100... and for chapter 6 i got 50/100 and chapter 7 i got 24/100.
HORRIBLE marks. I'm failing math with a 45%. Today we had a unit test on chapters 6 and 7, i felt confident because i studied my *** off so much for this, when i wrote the test it felt really really easy, and i wrote it first class. so after school i asked my math teacher how i did and she said exactly this " Around 40% I don't remember though " and i said " WHAT!? but i studied sooo much..! " and she said " maybe it was the format of the test ". no it wasn't the format, i understood all the questions. i had to do better than 40%... but then again she said she didn't remember, but i know she would have remembered if i passed or got a good mark. I'm really stressed and depressed. When I found out i failed, my entire world like fell down and i couldn't stop crying when i got home. A 50% is a pass and i couldn't even get that! Unit tests are 50% of our mark all together and we get 4. I've already failed 3. im just so dead now.. i do NOT want to fail but i feel like i can't do anything. any advice please? much appreciated!

P.S. I studied a lot & i understood like everything but i still managed to fail.... i stayed up all night b4 the test studying.

Can Kumon help me in Geometry?

First of all, @Justin: you said "Kumon works on the idea that repetition leads to memorization leads to mastery". You are wrong.

I am a Kumon Instructor, and let me tell you this: memorization does not lead to mastery. Maybe someone explained Kumon to you incorrectly. Kumon method helps you understand the problem first, then solve it, and finally solve it quickly (in case you need to do it again) once you really understand what you are doing. That's mastery. The Assistants and Instructors are there for you but we are not drill sergeants - we can't read your mind if you have a problem, need help, or have a question.
Kumon also teaches you to focus on your assignment (because you should be timing yourself), and additionally, wants to help you develop a self-learning ability where you try to solve the problem based on your current knowledge - before asking for help.

So, now that's out of the way, I will confirm that there is no separate geometry program - but Kumon's math program does incorporate geometry. Ask your Kumon Instructor to show you the entire math program (it is one large sheet of paper with highlights of every level), and you will know exactly what to expect when. Talk to your Kumon Instructor about the challenges you are having and see what he/she suggest for you.

I sincerely hope that it will work out for you, especially since you were already at level J - that is a high achievement, and I commend you for that!

Best of luck.

How can I stop failing in high school because of my depression?

To get started. I already like you. I like how you think. I like your energy. I like that you set yourself some goals to achieve. You have the right mindset. You’re telling me that you want to study programming on your own. That’s fantastic! You should be proud of you. How many students in HS does that? Most of them will just play video games instead!I salute your courage. It must be hard for you because you are mainly alone in your pursue. Not a lot of people share the same commitment you have to get their dreams. You may feel lonely. You shouldn’t. You have everything to succeed.Just the way you formulate the problem is perfect. I can see that you’re very smart. You’re right it’s hard to have balance. That takes time. You know what to do to have balance. Problem is depression is there for a reason. I could explain you all the techniques and theories for balance. But you already know them. What I think is lacking is own awareness. A little more introspection. Why do you want to do computer science so badly? Why it so important for you? What are your dreams more specifically? What do you want to achieve? Why do you feel sad?Do you have support and encouragement from your family? Did you expect that your parents tell you, that you are good? Did you wish someone would congratulate you for your efforts? If not, I am right now.You have potential. Believe in yourself. You will achieve great things.

I have a bad geometry teacher and i have a D in The class?

well, i'm pretty smart, taking geometry as a freshmen. my gpa is 3.5
in the geometry class i think the teacher is bad at teaching. why would 85% of the class have a D if he was good at teaching?
there is only 1 A in the class. and two C's the rest are D's and F's
my dad is fkin being stupid yelling at me and calling me stupid and think i am doing bad at school. just because i have a D in math. he keeps telling me to study/do homework and stop playing games when i am not even fkin play any games at all. i mean my gpa is good, he doesn't even care that it is 3.5, all he care about is math grade because we are asian. sorry i went off topic a bit. i have a problem with my dad and want him to go away forever so he doesn't bother me aka Die.

How to convince my mom to stop being so strict on me about my grades?

I didn’t pass my last years math class which math has been a thing that I’m in the 11th grade she saw last year that I had failed geometry which was weird for me I am the closet I was in was pretty bad and the teacher really did not like the group and I was trying my hardest I actually try to learn and nothing was getting done fast forward to light now we’re like earlier in the summer found out that I failed she said I couldn’t go out I couldn’t be at soccer over the summer and she took away my PlayStation which for me I was cool with two of those things I took a test like the second week of school and I failed is like barely and she’s expecting me to get I get all my classes because of what happened last year to get like 90s and hundreds only or she will take away all my pr but this semester started and I took physics last year instead of chemistry which is pretty I’m fine I’m not gonna lie about that I like physics but so I took chemistry this year instead and we took a test like the second week of school and I failed it like barely and she’s expecting me to get I get all my classes because of what happened last year to get 90s and hundreds and I failed my Test and she saw that and she got a real mad she gave everything back to me But now she took everything back away and from me it’s not Realistic for me to get straight 90s and hundreds I’ve never
