How To Stop Hair Thinning And Falling Out

I`m 16 and my hair keeps falling out?

There are several reasons why your hair maybe falling out and it is dependant on your lifestyle and how it is falling out

If you are suffering from hypothyroidism you hair becomes thinner and more brittle and will experience more dropping off, this would be the cause if you are also gaining weight, suffering constapation, maybe a slight yellow colour to the skin, heavier periods or find you are more sensetive to the cold. Hypothyroidism will effect the hair on the rest of your body so you will notice the outside of your eye brows and other bodily hair has the same reaction.

Most likely and indeed what I first thought when I read the title of this question, is a syndrome called alopecia, there is relativly little known about this disorder but it is believed to be related to stress and a change of life style (so if your at a school being bullied, moving schools can stop this). There are various forms of alopecia, some you loose patches of hair on the scalp, to alopecia totalaris where no hair grows anywhere on your body.

As you probally worked out, a lot of people suffer from hair damage as a result of abuse, colouring (in particular bleach), straightening, frequent washing (once a day constitutes very frequent), gels (which freeze the hair root) can all cause damage.

One thing I must address, although it is unlikely but I do have to mention that causes hair loss is poisioning, you may have heard that chemotherapy for cancer causes hair loss, and I am not suggesting you are going through that but other drugs and poisions also do, maybe you are taking a prescription drug and its a side effect? Or an illegal drug which has been cut or bulked out with a rat poision? Contact with pesticides or other animal poisions or even a house fumigation?

I doubt you are being poisioned or certainally not deliberately but it is something to consider

Why is my hair falling out/what can I do?

I have noticed that my hair has been shedding A LOT lately, more so than it ever has before. It doesn't seem to be thinning to much, it it is already thin at the ends so I dont want to lose to much more. I drink plenty of water (the only thing I drink really) I exercise daily,I do have a relaxer, but I moisturize the crap out of it. I mean I have slight stress at school, but not enough I thought to cause hair loss. If you can't figure out why that is totally fine, but please, any suggestions?

Why does my hair keep falling off after i got a perm?

You mean you had a relaxer. A "perm" usually means a permanent wave, that is, to have curly hair.

A relaxer only works on the hair that it touches. After a year, your hair will have grown quite a lot, and it will NOT be straight. Sorry to tell you. Whoever sold you that treatment made themselves a lot of money.

Yes, when you use the relaxer on your hair (which is a very caustic product --meaning it dissolves hair), it will weaken your hair. There is no way around that. If you have weak hair to start with, it will cause severe damage. Depending on how the hair was handled at the time of the treatment, you may be breaking it off at that weak spot every time you manipulate your hair. Every time you rub it during the shampoo, every time you comb your hair when wet, every time you brush your hair.. you are breaking off more hair.

What now? This will continue until all the hair has grown out and you have cut it all off. That hair is permanently damaged. You can use some products to keep it softer and hopefully some that will make it stronger, but basically, there is nothing much you can do about it now. Just treat it gently, try to keep it on your head for as long as possible. The good news is that your hair is always growing and the new hair will be as healthy as you can make it, so let's hope it grows really fast!!

The next time... well, I think you already know what you have to do the next time (if there is one).

Can wearing a bandana make your hair fall out?

Actually wearing bandanas, as long as you're not knotting up your hair up in the ties, will protect your hair from being all tangled up and blown around. Depending on the length of your hair, you could put it up in a pretty bun, too. Sorry you hate your hair; I've sent you a bunch of links to various hair care websites. Most of them are geared towards long hair, but the tips they have will help you protect and make the most of your hair, whatever length you want to keep it. You may find a new love for your hair that you never had before. :) Also check out the last link; this store sells nice silk bandanas that look like the regular cotton ones. Good luck; try to go easy on your mom. She means well and she loves you.

Hair falling out with birth control Nexplanon! Will Biotin help?

Why can't you use condoms? I mean yeah unprotected sex is great and all but if all of these birth control options are taking such a toll on you are they really worth it? And I'm sure your husband would understand because I mean how couldn't he? You should also wait for the doctor before biotin but I've never heard of taking that with Nexplanon. It sounds like you react to these things and it might make it worse. The hair loss might also be due to something else. You can also try different contraceptive options like Birth Control Vaginal Ring (NuvaRing), some other Birth Control Implant, Birth Control Patch (Ortho Evra) etc etc etc. But personally all of this sounds like such a pain and you're inserting something into yourself which effects your hormones . The option that would be most comfortable to you sounds like using condoms. If you don't want this then good luck because if Nexplanon doesn't work then you can just go through the list of other contraceptives.
