How To Stow Away From Africa To Europe

Is it possible to truly drive from Africa to Europe?

What do you mean, “truly drive”? Over land, I take it? Boats are not allowed? What about bridges? If you want to drive from Africa to Europe, the best way is probably taking the ferry from Morocco to Spain. Plenty of people do it every day.You don’t have to take the ferry, of course: there is a land route. You can drive from Egypt to Israel (with the right paperwork), from Israel to Jordan, and from Jordan through Syria to Turkey. Once you’re in Turkey, all you have to do is find Istanbul with its bridges to Europe. At least that used to be true. At the moment, I wouldn’t advise driving through Syria. Or Iraq, for that matter. There may be a moderately safe route from Jordan to Turkey through Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Basra and Iran, but for all practical purposes the land route from Africa to most of Eurasia is cut off by the war.

What is the closest part of Africa to Europe?

Closest points between Africa and Europe must be the Northern Most Point of Morocco and The Southern most part of Spain. The Strait of GibraltarApproximately 9 miles (14 km) wide at its narrowest point, the Strait of Gibraltar is the entry point into the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. It is bordered by the continents of Africa and Europe, and the countries of Morocco, Spain, the British colony of Gibraltar, and the Spanish exclave of CeutaAnd there is Africa, seen from Gibraltar, 14 KM away (8.6992 miles for them American peoples)You can see Africa just using the google street view panorama when at Gibraltar36.028619,-5.548767 @ Instant Street View

Is Egypt in Europe or in Africa?

It isn't in Europe, but you can say it has a lot of common things with Europe.Britain invaded Egypt.France invaded Egypt.Romania invaded Egypt. Some Egyptian lands were Greek and some Greek lands were Egyptian. While Egypt has been an Arabic country, the Arabs entered Spain. So Egypt used to be European, and some of Europe used to be Egyptian.Egyptian dialect is a mix between Arabic mostly and some other languages like Spanish, Italian, French, Turkish and, of course, English. So yeah you can say it is European historically. But it does not by any means lie in European continent.Egypt is an Afro-Asian country, with about 950,000 km squared of land in Africa, and 60,000 km squared in Asia, that Asian part is a.k.a. Sinai.

Are Europe/Africa moving quickly away from the Americas?

I am answering as if the question is about politics and not geography.Africa, at least some countries, is being courted by China. People in the West are calling it the new imperialism, but China needs resources and African countries need investment. Africa isn’t united and African countries aren’t moving away from the West. Some are embracing relations with China. The current US administration seems to ignore past relations with Europe, in particular Germany. If this continues, Europe will move away from relations with the US, but this isn’t happening yet.

Does anyone still stowaway on ships these days?  If so, how do they do it?

Possibly less dramatic than what you were expecting, but one of the commonest and ongoing instances of stowaways, is the British Columbia Ferry Corporation. This organisation operates ferries between Vancouver, and Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Western Canada.Tickets are considered expensive, and it is not uncommon for families to tell their children “Get under blankets in the back of the van, kids, we’re coming up to the ticket booths.”The operators of the ticket booths usually cannot see into the back of a van, so the kids ride free. Since at the time that the ships legal capacity is reached, the cash registers shut down electronically, and the ship sails. The kids in the back, under the blankets, are stowaways in every sense of the word.

Which continent is the closest to Africa?

Asia closely followed by Europe. However, as I’ve written elsewhere (e.g. Samuel Lickiss's answer to Is Armenia a European country or an Asian country?) Europe and Asia are, in a geological sense, the same thing and are part of a continental landmass called Eurasia.Anyway, Asia/Arabia starts just east of Egypt and is in fact getting further away from Africa all the time:The Red Sea is gradually moving away from Africa. The African Rift Valley (the dotted lines) is also a geologically active place. The African rift lakes, such as Lake Malawi and Lake Victoria, are in fact precursors to a new ocean that will eventually form as the rift opens up further.Spain, in Europe, is extremely close to Africa. In fact, you can see Africa from Gibraltar (a British territory on the southern tip of Spain):Eventually Africa and Europe will meet, closing up the Mediterranean Sea along the Strait of Gibraltar. This has happened before in a period known as the Messinian Salinity Crisis about 5.9 million years ago. It is thought that the Mediterranean almost entirely evaporated before flooding again 5.3 million years ago in an event known as the Zanclean flood.Bonus answer:You can get into Spain directly from Morocco without crossing the Strait of Gibraltar. In fact, you can walk into Spain from Africa. No tunnels or anything. To get into Asia from Africa you need to cross the Suez Canal. This is because the Spanish cities of Cueta and Melilla (plus a couple of smaller ones) are actually on the African landmass in Morocco.I say you can walk into these cities. They do try and stop people doing that:…but you can in theory, at least.

How far is Spain from Africa?

Technically sepaking, zero, nothing. Let me explain. Spain has territory in AfricaSee there, in Morocco, Ceuta and Melilla? Those are Spanish cities in Africa. Also the Canary Islands are considered as Africa (and are spanish). Now if you were asking about the penninsula, then its closest is at the Strait of Gibraltar which is 14.4 km wide (8.95 mi).

Is Spain considered an African country since part of it (Ceuta and Melilla) is on continental Africa?

Look at a map of Europe. Can you locate Spain there? You'll find your answer. If you consider overseas (present) and colonial (past) possesions to geographically define a country many Europe countries would be African, four of them South American and one of them would be scattered over part of the globe.

What do you call people from Congo?

Congolese, yep. That's it.
