Try washing them and when they come out of the washer stretch then while they're wet and then hang them or lay them flat to dry. Wayyyy easier to stretch clothes when they're wet.

If in case you don't have either ask your tailor to just stitch one on the inside to help your case.Only issue you can have is if the length is big, in that case you need to fold and wear as there's not any option.If the leg width makes it an awkward fit then all you can do is to give it to your father or claim a replacement.
