How To Switch From Rap Music To Country Music

How to switch from rap music to country music?

I have listened to rap music since 6th grade. I am getting tired of it because so much of it is negative and gets me in a bad mood. I love a lot of rap but i kinda need to cut some of that out. I like country artists like Darius Rucker but don't know how to make that transition. It is not as easy as it seems because I would also like to make that switch in the way I act and dress. I wear straight bill hats everyday. I only wear baggy athletic shorts and t-shirts. I want to look more interactive if that is the correct word of choice. I'm tired of looking like a bum. As long as you don't come on hear and completely bash rap, im open to all answers.

Why do people like country music all of the sudden?

Because it's not country. Songs with drum loops and electric guitars, auto-tune and boom boom boom, shaking it and hick hop.. not country. It's all a marketing scheme, no corporate big wig gives two craps about tradition, they just care about the dollar bills y'all. They call whats on the radio country, and people are stupid enough to fall for it.

Is rap music poisoning the mind of our youth?

I hate to pick on a certain genre of music, but I often wonder this. I'm sure I'm not the first person to express this concern. I imagine many kids in America today have no respect for anything because of the music they listen to. In particular, I'm referring to gangster rap. I support the First Amendment, but if Howard Stern had to switch to satellite radio, then all gangsta rap should be played solely on there again. Yes, I know it's not considered politically correct to judge a book by its cover. I also understand what you see is what you get. Tupac Shakur had a tattoo that says "Thug Life." He claimed that it stands for "The Hate You Give Little Infants F---ks Everybody." He insisted that he wasn't involved in gang activities. Hmmm, let's see! How did Tupac die again? Wasn't he gunned down on the strip in Vegas? Obviously, he was involved in something illegal. The same is true about Chris Smalls aka Big Papa. I find it hard to believe they weren't engaged in any criminal activities when both of them met their demise like that. So I'll ask you again. Do you think rap music is poisoning the mind of our youth?

What are some rap songs with really good background music?

First of all, I want to say that I don't really like rap that much. However, I've discovered a few exceptions recently. Songs like Will Smith's "Switch" and Swizz Beatz's "Top Down" have either a great beat or such catchy music in the background that I would listen to them as instrumentals. What are some other rap songs that have catchy and/or funky musical support?

Why do people think rap music is stupid?

I'll tell you why. Because all the people that don't like rap, have maybe glimpsed at BET once. Most rap on BET is crap, it's just the black version of MTV. They don't show you real talent, just the stuff they think will sell. I don't say I don't like a form of music until I listen to what they claim is the best of that genre. Try Tupac, or some concious/political/nerdcore rap if your tired of drugs, sex and money filled lyrics. Shut up about rap unless you give it a chance. I don't like country music, but some songs have good lyrics and sounds too it. Remain open-minded.
