How To Train My 4 Month Old Pure American Pit To Be An Indoor Dog

Help with leash training my year old American Bulldog?

No prong collar. I had a similar problem with my 120 pound Rhodesian Ridge Back. The BEST way to go is with a "gentle leader". My uncle is a vet and he got us started with ours. Those are the things that look like a little halter for a horse. Here's the logic: Can you control a horse with a collar? No, obviously it's too strong. Well your American bulldog is pretty strong itself. A Gentle Leader acts like a halter on a horse and pulls the head to the side when they try to take off on you. They are goofy looking and people are going to ask if it's a muzzle (which it most definitely is not). But they work wonders. Your dog won't like it because all of a sudden you will be in complete control, but trust me they work awesome. You can also use it for training then in a year switch back to regular color. Buy it at any pet store for about $20. Good luck.

How do I stop my 9 month old pup from pooping in the house?

I have a part Terrier and part pit bull. He is 9 months old and you can say potty trained. He does let us know when he has to go outside by either circling the sofa or just giving us a stare like i gotta go man.

Well the problem we have been having is that he sometimes poops in the house. Usually right near us when we are preoccupied. We take him out in the morning, and evening. Between that sometimes we take him out 4-6 times. We try to take him out the moment he try's to get our attention. The problem is he will pee but will not poop.
So after taking him out 3 times with out pooping we bring him in and not even 1 hour goes by he poops in the house. I do spank him when i have seen the aftermath. I know they say punish only when u see the act being done but i am loosing Patience with him. Any suggestions?

Adopting an older American Bulldog?

My boyfriend and I are thinking of adopting a 2-4 year old American Bulldog whose owner can't take care of it anymore. I've read they are extremely loyal to and protective of their owners. Since he's no longer a puppy, will he bond with us and have the same loyal and protective nature to his new owners?

My Labrador puppy (3 months) poops around 8-10 times a day. What can be the possible cause for this?

It's not a Good Sign and It Can be Diarrhea.Ordinarily, littler breeds and more youthful puppies should urinate more as often as possible than bigger breeds and more seasoned pooch. The normal sound puppy will deliver roughly 10 to 20 ml of pee for each pound of body weight every day. In a perfect world grown-up puppies ought to be permitted outside to alleviate themselves no less than 3-5 times each day.your pet is a grown-up, generally sound, and carrying on ordinarily aside from the looseness of the bowels, I suggest you withhold sustenance – NOT WATER – for 12 hours. At the 12-hour check, offer a flat eating regimen. I prescribe cooked ground turkey and plain 100 percent pumpkin. This is an alternate insipid eating routine from the customary ground hamburger and rice blend that is regularly prescribed. Indeed, even the least fatty ground hamburger contains a ton of fat, and fat can compound an instance of the runs. Rice, despite the fact that it's flat, is exceptionally fermentable. Maturing rice in the colon of a pet with the runs tends to increment gassiness. Additionally, rice watches out for simply zip directly through the GI tract, leaving with the following episode of unstable loose bowels absolutely undigested.Blend the cooked ground turkey and pumpkin or sweet potato 50-50 in your pooch's bowl. Encourage 2 to 3 little dinners daily until the point when stools are back to 100 percent, which ought to occur in around 72 hours. My most loved all-characteristic against looseness of the bowels cure is a herb called dangerous elm bark. I suggest continually having some close by so when you require it, it's in that spot. Tricky elm is alright for puppies, grown-ups, and geriatric mutts and it is totally protected when mixed with different prescriptions. I suggest about a half teaspoon for every 10 pounds of body weight, blended into the flat eating routine twice day by day.I likewise prescribe you include a decent quality pet probiotic.Sustaining a flat eating regimen and supplementing with dangerous elm bark is a decent arrangement for around 3 days, at which time your puppy's stool ought to have returned to typical. In the event that following 3 days the runs hasn't cleared up, it's a great opportunity to check in with your veterinarian.

5 month old Great Dane wont stop peeing in the house.?

I have a 5 month old male Great Dane, who we got when he was only 8 weeks old. He picked up on potty training nearly the next day, which was pretty good; considering the people we got him from had him ,and his litter mates in a large room covered with newspaper, and pee ,and poo everywhere! I thought for sure he would be hard to potty train because of that reason alone. Instead he learned to use wee wee pads the same day we got him, and continued to until we weened him from them, and he started to hold his pee until we let him out. Lately he has been really naughty in the house, he goes outside at least 3 or 4 times a hr!!! and he goes every single time, and yet he will still come in and pee and poop. We let him out after he's been playing around with the other dogs, before and after hes done eating. We separate his time out side to go potty from time to go out to play. He holds it in his cage at night and when he needs to be in his crate during the day.
I don't know what to do, I'm loosing my patience with him. I've even taken him for walks to make sure hes got enough time to go to the bathroom before I take him inside, and that didn't seem to work either. What should I do if he does have an accident? I've potty trained plenty of dogs and never had this problem. When hes bad I let him watch me pick it up, and I tell him "NO!" then let him outside again to finish if he has to. Sometimes I will put him in his crate for time out (only like 10mins) then let him outside again. Anyone have any suggestions? He's such a good dog but I feel like most of my time spent with him is yelling at him for being naughty, and always letting him outside. He started off so good. :(

Is it true that if your Pitbull is Purebred it's roof of it's mouth will be black?

No, this is simply one of a million different myths about bully breeds.
Without papers from a legitimation registration (for American Pit Bull Terriers (the only true "Pit Bull") this would be the United Kennel Club or American Dog Breeder's Association) there is no way to know if the dog is purebred or not.

I want to breed my male blue nose pit bull he is about 26 months?

I have a friend with a beautiful APBT.

What breed is your dog?
What shows has he won?
Does he do competitions?
What colours are in his bloodlines?
Any alopecia?
How are his OFA & CERF scores? Can you post numbers for him to look up?
What temperament tests has he passed?
What titles does he have?
What kennel is he out of?

Sorry, but with estimates as high as 1,000,000 pit bulls being killed in shelters in the US alone, a "good owner" doesn't breed a pit without a stellar reason.

Lack of penis size isn't a valid reason.

It's also estimated that 75% of any backyard breeder pit bull litter will end up in a shelter at some point.

If you want another pit bull, go to http://www.pbrc.net and http://www.petfinder.com and rescue one.

Added: Seems you don't want to hear the truth and instead have TD'd everyone trying to help you. Thank you in advance for adding to the horrible future that all the pit bull breeds face here in the US. How many dogs will die because you decided to breed?

How do I care for an 8-week old German Shepherd puppy?

I love Mary Nielson’s answer because it is spot on. I just need to add a couple of things.Toys - Your puppy is going to need a lot of appropriate things to chew on. Puppies chew and it is going to get excessive in 2–3 months because they will be getting their adult teeth. Without appropriate toys your puppy will chew on inappropriate things. Your puppy does not know what is safe from what isn’t and they experience the world with their mouths. That means you are going to have to pay close attention, especially out on walks. Please do not give your puppy rawhide chews! They get soggy and can be a real choking hazard. I almost lost a dog to one years ago. They also teach your dog that it is okay to chew on leather. If you want to protect shoes, bags, furniture or jackets not giving your puppy rawhide is the first step.Foods- Please make certain that you don’t give your puppy raw or freeze dried raw food/treats. Puppies do not have a fully developed immune system so these things can make them sick. Adult dogs do fine with these, but stay away from these foods until your puppy is an adult.Enjoy your puppy and remember to give them a lot of attention. German Shepherds are sensitive and extremely bright. When they feel neglected they can become destructive. I had one that tore up my couch because I worked overtime one night. If I had been home as usual that likely would not have happened. Dogs like routine, it can be altered to benefit them, but they hate it when the change isn’t in their favor. A longer walk or an extra one is cool, but one shorter than normal walk will leave them wanting. If you can find a cover for the toilet paper roll, that would be a good idea. GSDs seem to have a thing for shredding paper, you could end up with tp confetti when they are bored.
