How To Turn Blue Hair To Light Brown

I naturally have slightly dark brown hair. can I dye my hair blue?

Yuppers. Im not a professional but mine is dark brown and I've dyed my hair blue several times. First you have to lighten your hair enough for the blue to show (which would mean getting your hair bleached). If you don't want to spend the money on getting your hair professionally bleached then you do what I do and use either one of these:You can get these at Walmart or Shoppers Drugmart, and possibly other places. If you have really long thick hair (like down-to-your-elbows long) then you might need two boxes. Make sure to follow all the instructions in the box very carefully. If your hair is a reaally orange color, you might need to bleach again (make sure to wait at least 1 month before bleaching again). But if your hair is a lighter brassy color like this:You can still put blue dye in it. Though keep in mind, the more yellowish your hair is after bleaching, the more green your hair will be after the blue fades. As soon as your hair is totally dry from the bleaching, blue the blue dye in right away. Right now your hair will be “thirtsy” from the bleaching so it will soak up the dye and will keep the color longer. My personal favorite color dye is Jerome Russels Punky Color:This is the best semi-permanent dye I've tried. Got it as Shopers Drugmart (you might be able to find it at Walmart, I'm not sure)Tip: use some cheap conditioner to help washout the dye. Your hair will still feel kinda stiff (or kinda like straw) from being bleached recently so it will stick and trap excess dye from washing out, the conditioner will make it slippery so more dye will come out the first rinse.Keep in mind any color dye will slowly come off, so use dark color towels you don't care about. If you want it to last longer make sure to use color protection shampoo and conditioner.Sorry this is such a long explanation! If you want more info you can private message me :D

Can I dye my dark blue hair with dark brown?

Answering: “Can I dye my dark blue hair with dark brown?”Depending on the shade, you should be alright though it may retain a blue hue. I dyed my purple and teal hair black and it covered most of it but still showed green where the teal had been, so my suggestion would be a color stripper like Color Oops Extra Strength Hair Color Remover. That would be your best bet I believe. I've used it and I definitely recommend it. It brought back my hair to it's natural shade from black. Just do it once and it should remove the blue and leave you with whatever was under it, be your natural color or blonde from bleach, whichever, and then dye over that.Good luck!

Why won't my hair turn blue?

your hair is to orange to turn blue its physically and chemicaly impossible to have a true blue colour you need almost white hair the only hair dye that iv ever iused that can turn orange hair blue is crazy colour and you have to leave it in all night to get a dark blue i would sugggest using a blonde box dye with an ash unertone so the most white as possible i would use either xxl live absolute platinum or super drug platinum permanent pre lightnert or smart beauty platinum blonde then this will bring you to probably a yellowish orangy very light blonde but it should be lesss orange then use a small bit of any vegetable based dy e.g manic panic in BLUE and mix with conditioner it has to be blue and only dip like the end of a tooth pick in the blue for every half cup of conditioner keep ading blue untill its an extremely light baby blue leave this on over night and all orange will be gone then do the same with a violet dye which will get rid of all the yellow you will have almost whit e hair now then if you want a dark blue you need to make another conditioner mix but with black dye (semi permanent) until its a light grey mix more depending on how dark you want it this will turn your hair silvery grey or you can make it grey do not use to much black or you will get muddy green hair then after you reach desired brightness use blue dye and leave it on over night i would recomend crazy colour capri blue for a true blue and crazy colour peacock blue for a more turqoise blue if the blue is to turqoise or to light buy rusk scream in purple pasiion this is hard to get depending on were you live if u have a hairdresser friend they can get it for you but if not then use manic panic ultra violet this wll give more of a purple yinge or if you mix it with conditioner it will remove the yellow and therefore preent the green this will cost you around £20-30 but if you pre lighten and you find ur hair is white or just orangey white then dont use the violet and go straight in with the blue/gray then blue but if there is yellow then you will defo need violet

If I wanted to dye my hair, which is brown to blue, would I need to lighten it first?

Before that question can be answered—-Is the brown hair color you currently have your natural color or previously colored?-How light or dark is the color of your hair?[Hairstylists base the color of all hair with a level, 1–10. The first level, 1, is black - 10 would be a light blonde. There are vast levels and tones of brunette.]If your hair is your natural color—depending how light brown or dark brown it is currently, you would probably need it lightened—depending on how vibrant you want the blue to appear. On the other hand, if your hair has been previously colored, especially numerous times over—I would talk to a hairstylist face-to-face for a hair consultation to examine the integrity of your hair so it turns out exactly how you want it. Bleach lightener can be really harsh on hair that has been previously damaged and also, not damaged. It’s just important to communicate previous color or chemical services.Hope this helped!

Highlights turned light blue!?

Most ash based colors have a blue/violet base, some green, that is why your highlights turned blue.

Purchase a semi permanent deposit only color in level 7(brunette) N for natural. Apply this all over your hair. The natural brunette should blend and soften your existing colors yet leave your hair a pretty light-brown color. This will not lighten your hair at all just deposit some color.

Blue eyes, brown hair heritage ? ?

You could have ancestry from any one of many European countries.
Two people with brown eyes can indeed produce blue eyed children-IF they both carry the recessive gene for blue eyes. (Brown is normally dominant.) it's rare but not that rare-about 1 in 10,000 I believe (my cousin is one-both parents brown eyed but 2 grandparents blue eyed)
It is still widely thought that 2 blue eyed people can't produce brown eyed kids as they both have recessive blue eye genes but even that's not quite the case. More complicated but apparently the genes can mutate and double up, so if the people have brown eyes somewhere in their background they can indeed produce brown eyed kids.
back to ancestry-italians are usuallyvery dark in the south but can even be blond in the north where celtic tribes lived long ago. The Irish can be very varied, from dark hair and dark eyes to red hair and freckles. The black irish look actually does NOT come from modern Spaniards 9Armada) who only ever came to ireland in minimal amounts (a few ship wreck survivors , many of them killed by scared locals) but from ancient peoples who came into Ireland from the basque area of Spain and the near east between 5 & 8000 years ago.

How can I get my blue hair out so I can dye it dark brown, or burgundy if I needed to?

Depending on the shade of blue and the permanence of the dye you used, you might want to remove or bleach your hair before attempting to cover it with brown. My worry is that the blue dye will come through as an undertone if it’s a very high color saturation. That could be gorgeous if that’s what you want, especially with a cool-toned blackish brown, but hard to conceal otherwise. When I needed to remove permanent royal purple dye for brown, my stylist first used bleach to lighten the purple to an almost bubblegum pink. The color I chose used greenish-brown tones to fill in what the bleach took and cancel the pink out. I ended up with a normal golden brown.Ideally, you’d want to have a professional hairstylist in charge of this. They would be capable of either removing some of the color or filling it with warmer (orange-y) tones to cancel it out.

Can I Dye My Brown Hair Blue Without Bleach?

The guy in the first pic has his hair dyed black. He probably bleached the blue bits. Bleaching your hair prior to dying it blue will make the colour more vibrant. Using the dye over your brown hair will make a more subtle colour. There's nothing you can do to make it brighter. It's like if you had a blue crayon and a white sheet of construction paper, and a brown sheet of construction paper. The blue will be bluer on the white paper, and a bit murkier and darker on the brown.

EDIT: There is no such thing as permanent dye for unnatural hair colours (like blue, green, purple). Professional quality dyes may last longer, but they are by no means permanent.

Dyed my hair black and it turned blue?!?

I had bleach blond hair and went to dye it black and it was fine the first day but turned blue... I'm considering stripping out the color and just dying my hair a light brown and keeping some blond underneath if the blue strips out correctly. I've come to the conclusion that you can only dye blond hair colors with reddish tones, but I want a light brown. What am I limited to? I need a job and this violet/blue hair is not helping haha :)
