How To Upgrade My Current Os Software

What are some reasons my MacBook Pro 10.6.8 won't upgrade?

If you are running 10.6 (Snow Leopard) then your Mac is fairly old. Most likely, it’s too old to run the current OS X.Several models ran 10.6 (Snow Leopard) but not 10.7 (Lion.) If yours is one of those, you’re stuck with what you have until you get a newer machine. Some models could run 10.7, but not 10.8 (Mountain Lion.) If yours is one of those, you MIGHT still be able to upgrade it that far. The installer was only available on the App Store for the year that Lion was the current OS version. If you bought it during that time, you should be able to re-download it. If not, you’d need to find someone who has a copy and get them to install it for you, or else track down one of the too-scarce USB installers. But don’t worry about it too much; it’s not close to current anymore either.Another possible reason is that you’re trying to update through Software Update. That, and the similar function now moved within the App Store app, only work for minor updates within the current version, i.e., from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8. Changing major versions (which, with Macs since 2001, means the number after the first decimal because the one before it is always ten) is a more deliberate process, requiring an installation disc (up to 10.6.x) or an installer app. The current one is 10.11 El Capitan, and you can find it on the “Featured” tab of the App Store. If you haven’t tried it, get it NOW, because, if patterns hold, it will not be available once its replacement is released. That replacement should be out sometime this month, and will definitely not run on your computer.

How do I upgrade my OS so that I can install my printer software?

wait, what's your OS????
are you using Windows?
if so then you SHOULD be fine

are you using an Apple?
if so then it is not supported and you cant install windows. find a download suitable for apple

are you using Linux?
if so, then you're on your own. i have never used Linux before

if you do not know very much about computers and DON'T know what OS (operating systems) are then please Google it and then come back

note**
updating your OS would be very hard and expensive so that would not be recommended

**EDIT**
okay, if your using windows, and the supported are "Windows XP, Windows XP 64 bit, Vista, Vista 64 bit." then, you are either using a VERY old computer and should just buy a new one
OR
you are using a windows 7 (newer) if this is the case, then you would have to downgrade it (very hard, complicated and just not worth it procedure) so my recommendation, just find a version suitable for windows 7 if its not available then, sorry, your out of luck

you can usually find safe and reliable downloads from the manufacturer's website (e.g. HP, Lexmark, Cannon, etc)

If I do a factory reset on an Android phone, will the software update also be deleted?

Factory reset your Android phone -If restarting your phone doesn’t help the problem and your phone is still acting up, you might want to try a factory reset. This will restore your device to its factory settings. The process is also sometimes referred to as formatting or doing a “hard reset”. Hard resetting your Android smartphone isn’t actually very hard. The easier way to do a factory reset is with the Settings menu, but if that isn’t possible, you can also reset in Recovery Mode. Here are the instructions for both.Factory reset your Android phone from the Settings menuBe warned: this process will erase all the data from your device’s internal storage, including personal files like photos. So, be sure to back up all your phone’s data beforehand. In the Settings menu, find Backup & reset, then tap Factory data reset and Reset phone. You’ll be prompted to enter your pass code and then to Erase everything.Once that is done, select the option to reboot your phone. Then, you can restore your phone’s data.Try this Factory reset your Android phone -

What is the difference between installing and upgrading Windows?

An upgrade just upgrades the Windows files...keeping all your data files and installed programs on your computer.

An install you wipe your hard drive and install a fresh copy...losing any installed programs or data files you have saved.

Installation types "clean", "upgrade" and "multiboot", what does each do?

Clean - installs the operating system. You get a new installation of that operating system and nothing else.

Upgrade - upgrades your current operating system to the new version. Nothing else changes. All your programs and data are intact (it says in the book - back all your data up anyway, just to be sure.)

Multiboot - you have an operating system installed. You're adding this one, so when you start the computer you can run either one (only one - you can't run both at the same time). So you can run XP and 7, or 7 and Linux (or 3, 4 or 10 different operating systems) on the same computer.

Reinstalling Windows XP over Windows XP, will my programs remain?

I would like to reinstall Windows XP onto my computer because the current one I am using is not genuine and I bought a new Windows XP disk from a shop. I would like to know if all my documents, programs and registry changes would remain there if I reinstall XP (with SP2) onto the current XP SP3? Will it be like the in-place upgrade of Windows Vista?
