Depending on which OS you're using it differs where you find it. Look for mouse properties, possibly thru Control Panel and/or devices & printers, it will open a tabbed box, look for wheel. There, it gives options for distance & speed at which the wheel scrolls, also pointer speed & other options.

I have a dell computer and mouse, the mouse has a scroll wheel. lately the scroll wheel will not work when trying to scroll down but works fine scrolling up. Just wondering if it is a matter of cleaning something or if something is worn out and time to get a new mouse. If anyone knows how to disassemble the mouse that would be helpful too.
Why does my mouse "disconnect" every time I use the mouse scroll? As in when I scroll up or down?
It's strange... I have a sunbeamtech optical mouse that is fairly unused. My brother purchased it a while back and stopped using it because of whenever he scrolled with the mouse wheel it would "disconnect" and stop working. It even makes the sounds when a USB device is disconnected. Another strange thing is when it does disconnect, you have to scroll in the same direction you did before and it will start working again until you tap the mouse wheel. It doesn't happen if you click the mouse wheel, as in press down on it. Some help would be great, I want this thing to work!
