In California is not illegal to pick fruits that hangs on public property; the owner of the tree is resposbale to make sure the tree don't invate public or private property.

In Cal. there are organized groups that map and pick fruits from such trees. Nobody as been warned, fined, arrested or charged. Besides fruit rotting on the sidewalk is a public nuisance not to mention a waste.

Pellet rifle in orlando florida legal?

You need a nuisance permit. Squirrel are a game animal in Florida, and squirrel season isn't until fall. Since the squirrels are causing property damage you can probably get a nuisance permit from your local DNR which will let you shoot them legally fairly easily. As for using an air-rifle, you need to check Florida's regulations concerning legal methods of taking game (I didn't see anything saying you couldn't use an air-rifle but I didn't see anything explicitly saying you could either) and consult with your local police (if you live in an urban area) to make sure its legal to use an air-rifle where you live.

Landlord's responsibility to remediate rat infestation?

I'm a landlord in the City of Los Angeles. I recently remodeled my home and decided to rent it out to tenants. The home was fully remodeled and we even tented the home for pests and termites. The home was delivered to the tenants in clean conditions. The tenants are complaining about a rat infestation and are demanding that I remediate it, however, when I go to check on the home from time to time, I notice that the tenants have poor hygiene and leave empty beer/wine bottles in bags in the yard and also keep food out on the kitchen counters. They complained about a roach problem last month and I took care of the issue out of my own pocket, but now they have issues with rats. Am I legally responsible for taking care of the rat problem? Or is it the tenant's responsibility because the infestation is due to their living habits? I sent out a pest control professional and he even confirmed that the tenants are not up-keeping the property and he witnessed the empty beer/wine bottles along with trash in the backyard as well. I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything illegal if I decide to past down the cost of the rat remediation to the tenants? Any help would be great appreciated. Thank you!
