The end of the cover need not be dramatic or original. The body of the letter will have done the heavy lifting and interested the hiring manager. Instead, the end of the cover letter simply mentions the enclosed documents and finishes with "I hope to hear from you soon." Then you sign off with Sincerely or Yours truly and your signature and full name. Some people use this closing paragraph to flatter the organization, which is a mistake. Advice: Lots of people do not give answers to questions when it appears that the student does not want to learn how to solve it but only wants the answer. In the future, if you want to learn how to solve a question, then present your question in a better form.

Let me help you begin to solve #3.

1) Read the problem and understand the problem. If you do not understand it, you will not be able to go farther.

2) Look at the question and identify the unknown value (or values) that is (are) being asked for. (In #3, it says "How many people ... ")

3) WRITE DOWN "Let x denote the number of people in the original group that went to dinner." That may not always be necessary, but it does not take long and will save a lot of time on some problems (and, sometimes, all of us will ask on the day after we begin and give up for the time: "I forgot what x stands for. Start over ..." And, you might get more partial credit when a teacher can see you are thinking properly.

4) The number of letters (called variables) that you need to solve for is what?
