How Was Bush Able To Predict With Frightening Detail What Would Happen If We Pull The Troops Out Of

People will you still fear Iran after reading this?

Salaam, Khoobi !
Fascinating. Loved every thing you've mentioned, also the links, loved'em all. I really appreciate the time and effort you've put in this. I'm certain, there're lot of people who will enjoy this and get informed a bit about our country. Don't worry about some of these clowns with weired and repugnant responses. There're lot of good Americans who get the points and are comprehensible, however there're lot of fu**heads among them as you can observe in some of the responses who are total jerks and are completely blinded by nationalism and think they're better than every body and every nation!! F**em, not worth paying attention to those kinds. I came to Iran few years back after 20 years being abroad and loved every Minuit of it. Spend three months with friends and family and travelled a lot, specially 'SHOMAL'. Amazing time i had and amazing GIRLS! wow, it was awesome! Tehran was totally changed and lot more modernized. You're definitely on the money, those westerners who don't know Iran, won't conceive how it is. OK, take a good care of your self and keep up a good work!

PS. I'm really impressed with your English and writing. Hamah ro beboos!

Do pilots or flight attendants ever get scared in flight?

Two quick personal incidents; I flew with a lovely Spanish girl called Marta. One atrocious night we flew through a lightning storm on route to Paris. The plane was damaged and we landed quickly after. Of course before we landed we were told by the flight deck to prepare for landing immediately and cease food and beverage service. There were only two of us preparing the cabin when there should have been three (it was a Bae 146 so very small plane) and we noticed Marta was missing so we stowed the cart and went to check to see if she was in the rear bathrooms. Instead we find her strapped fully into her crew seat, sat bolt upright in our ‘emergency brace position’. She was terrified. When she landed at our home port she resigned.Tale 2. I was ‘paxing’ (not working the flight but going to a destination as a passenger in order to operate the return sector back) along with a first officer in seats behind the wing on a small aircraft. We were cordially chatting and I was facing him and the window as I spoke, and he was facing me so didn't have a view out of the window. Coming into land I abruptly I stopped mid- sentence and according to him I went white as a sheet (I’m black)- after flying for a while you know pretty much by sound and feel when the wheels are about to touch the tarmac, problem was we were about to land but as I looked out of the window I could see way more tarmac than I should have been able to. This meant that the wing we were sat behind was tipped too far toward the ground, and if you want to see what happens when an aircraft wing hits the ground in-flight just go on Youtube. Needless to say, after passenger disembarkation, I went to the flight deck to ask what the hell just nearly happened, but I didn’t need to say a thing; the captain was drip white and shaking like a leaf.Yeah, they’re humans, they get scared.

Is the difference between "Iran" and "Iraq" only the letters "q" and "n"?

I can see that you're very informed of what's going on in your country. Most Americans are totally mis-informed about their own history, not just Iran's'. I'm sure that many folks here on YA won't even read what you put up here in your ques. I'm afraid that our President is making plans for world domination, and the Middle East is square 1. I know that what you say and feel about Iran is true, but the media here are not gonna tell the truth anytime soon ! Anyone with a true sense of history, would understand the many contributions of Arabs throughout history, were important for the development of civilization. Don't judge Americans by what the govt. does or says. We're trapped in this, just as much as you !

When Walter Cronkite stood in the streets of Vietnam a few weeks after the Tet Offensive...?

No, that's the patriotic thing to do. He spoke the truth

Yes sounds very familiar and in sharp contrast to what Bush promised.
"A generation shaped by Vietnam must remember the lessons of Vietnam.

When America uses force in the world, the cause must be just, the goal must be clear, and the victory must be overwhelming." 2000 George W. Bush's Republican Convention Acceptance Speech

EDIT some of the answers here remind me of 1984
"If the Party could thrust its hand into the past and say this or that even, it never happened—that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death."

"And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

"Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary."
