How Was The Life In America During 1957

Know anything about American Literature?

I have project to do for my English 11 class. I have to research an author that is American and has some literary criticism and has at least 4 books, and 2 bibliography's.

Can you please name some authors. Thank you!

Do American Veterans get free healthcare for life?

No. The VA has a listing of priority for who receives free care and how quickly:Priority Groups - Health BenefitsThe VA also has a specific list of guidelines to determine what copays individuals will be required to pay if they receive care at a VA facility:Health Benefits CopaysEven those of us who are rated at 100% permanently and totally disabled (Priority Group 1, all healthcare at VA facilities is free, mandated to be received within 30 days, and requires no copays of any kind) are asked at each visit whether or not we have health insurance outside our VA coverage. If we do (or if any VA patient does), the outside insurance provider would be billed for a portion of the care that we receive at the VA medical centers.Recruiters used to promise “free healthcare for life” and did so all the way up to the 1990’s at least (it was something my recruiter said that I looked him in the eye and told him was bullshit—my entire family were veterans, so I knew better). In the early 2000s, an Air Force COL, George Day, who was both an attorney and a MOH winner, took the government to court regarding promises of free healthcare for life. Though the Appeals Court ruled against him (though it did acknowledge the ‘moral claims’ of the plaintiffs against the government—in other words, the court acknowledged that government had made a promise it refused to keep) and SCOTUS declined to hear the case, Congress enacted Tricare for Life—a low-cost (at the time $100 a month) program to allow older retirees access to medical care (the cost has since gone up—one Tricare for Life member that I know was paying $400 a month in 2014). But “free healthcare for life” for veterans is and always has been a myth—we only get free healthcare if Uncle Sam breaks us so badly that not only can we not continue to serve, we cannot continue to work at all.

I am trying to locate the company that acquired the "All American Assurance Co of Louisiana?

What is the expected lifespan of an American born in 1950?

“Life expectancy” is a statistical term used to demarc the point in a cohort’s group (people born in the same year) when 50% have died and 50% are still alive. You can only finalize it when it has passed, but we can estimate it fairly accurately before that point. The date that describes “life expectancy” varies by country, race, year born, and gender. It also varies by age.In the US, “life expectancy” tables for someone born in 1950 would look something like this:AT BIRTH (year 1950) - YEARS UNTIL 50% HAVE DIEDBlack Male: 59.1Black Female: 62.9White Male: 66.5White Female: 72.2AT AGE 65 (year 2015) - YEARS UNTIL 50% OF THOSE STILL ALIVE HAVE DIEDBlack Male: 12.9Black Female: 14.9White Male: 12.8White Female: 15.1Remember: “Life Expectancy” is a type of half-life — for the group remaining alive — but you can’t double it.https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/hu...

Why is the phrase "in god we trust" on American money?

As I'm sure you guys know, American money only began including the phrase "In God we trust" on paper money in 1957.

http://www.ustreas.gov/education/fact-sh...

I've heard that it was placed on American money because of right-wing lobbyists, who thought it would prevent communism. Is there any truth to that?

Information on the african american civil rights movement?

im doing a project on the civil rights movement for black history month. i need some information on the civil rights movement for african americans and who the most important figures in the civil rights movement. 10 pts to the best answer!

Why is Cuba's health care system 10 times better than America's?

what i would like to know is why the doctors make 150k. a year and the nurses make 40k. a year but do the majority of the work.

i wanted to see obama help flood the market with trained doctors to bring the cost of health care down with loans for med school, face it if a nurse can do the majority of the work for 1/3 the price why not let them treat us.

Japan can offer an MRI for 1.500.00 in america it costs 11.000.00 so who is being screwed, illegals can get free heath care yet if i had to take an ambulance ride i would have bill collectors calling night and day.

Michael Moores movie made sense, why should we spend 4 dollars for an aspirin, why are drugs made in america shipped to mexico and Canada cheaper there?

one person on this thread bragged about his health care, what id he got cancer, his company dropped him and he could not find anybody to cover him.

this is the real world, there are programs to help women who have breast cancer where they would have no help other wise when health care should be a human right.

some doctors selflessly go to third world countries to help people where doctors are rare, while others feel such programs would get in the way of golf or sailing.

the idea is if someone needs health care they have to go to an emergency room and pay the E.R. prices, now there are urgent care buildings where people can go with median policies but this could go further.
