How Was The Summer After You Graduated High School

What should I do the summer after I graduate from high school?

As someone who recently lived this, simply traveling or doing a "Eurotrip" is probably not the move I would make for your whole 2 or 3 months off. You definitely want to be having fun as you're still very young, but you can have tons of fun in NYC. If your priorities are right, you'll be able to travel a lot in college itself through study abroad programs and exchanges. Speaking as someone in an extended study abroad program, I can assure you this is a wonderful way to travel while having fun (all under the guise of school, so you're still forced to be productive). You definitely want to be traveling a ton, but this might be even easier in college as a result of cool programs and exchange opportunities.Given all that, I would advise this: get a cool internship at a startup you like in New York City (or somewhere else, but this is probably your best bet given the current climate and kind of internship you'd want). I'm not sure if you're from the city or not, but if you're from nearby this will be the best way to spend time with your high school friends as Marc recommends -- as you know, most kids don't really leave or do anything too exotic for the summer.Because it's pre-college, most kids won't have had a job or internship past filing papers or working at a restaurant. Working on something cool and getting a little bit of apprenticeship/pre-professional experience can therefore be very valuable as you'll understand what it takes to make a business a bit better than your peers. It's also good to have some academic direction in your life before you start school, or you might end up taking the wrong classes/pursuing the wrong major and disenchanting yourself with academics. That's happened to more than a few people I know. Knowing a little bit more about what you want to study or do after you graduate is never bad preparation for college, in which most people have absolutely no idea what they're really doing (you'll see what I mean :)Anyways, definitely try to travel and have a bunch of fun with your good high school friends. That's really the most important thing. Summers without any real commitments are amazing.

What did you do after graduating from high school?

A2A I'm still in high school, but I think I can still give good advice. 1. Please seriously consider college. There are plenty of scholarships if you have need. The wage gap between high school and college graduates is ridiculous high. A diploma makes you a ton more money which equals a more secure life.If you don't quite know what you want to do you might think about taking a gap year. Warning! If you take a gap year apply to college now and get accepted then tell the college you would like to take a gap year. Waiting till the next admissions round causes issues. During this gap year get a job. Try and go to work at a higher level than just McDonald's. Since you're free you can take on a full time job. So, you could be a secretary at a law firm, you could be a research assistant, you could work at the newspaper. What I'm saying here is that you should try and get a job where you can learn something!!! 2. Get a job. Follow my advice above and get a job where you will learn something. 3. Go to community college and take classes.4. Apply to travel abroad on a mission tripFinal advice: take control of your life. Don't wait for something to fall in your lap, go what you want. Best of luck.

Is it graduating high school at age 21 bad?

I am a 18 years old female going to be 19 this January. I am in grade 11, but suppose to be graduating on 2013. I am lacking of credits even I'll take summer school. Maybe I'll have 1 or 2 subjects will be left after the summer school on august 2013. Do you think is it too old? My friends will graduate by that time, but am still in high school. I am planning to graduate on that year, but it is too impossible to happen.
My credits in my country I think they do not apply in the country that I moved in which is sucks.

What month do Americans graduate from High School?

In the US we graduate in May or June

Can you 'enlist' before you graduate high school?

Both of below are correct. My husband signed up November 2001, shortly after 9-11 with his mother's signed consent. He did not turn 18 until June of 2002. His contract was signed before he graduated AND before he turned 18. He turned 18, and graduated in June 2002 and entered boot camp August of 2002. He DID, however, enlist active duty - but that should not make a difference as far as the rules etc. Have you contacted your local recruiter?
