How Well Or Bad Do You Think I Did On My Interview

How do you know if an interview went bad/well?

How do you know if an interview went bad/well?Sorry, but you almost never can. There are a very few times when someone will tell you something that gives it away. “Great, you’re hired. When can you start?” would be one.I’ve given somebody the other side of that. I’ve told them that it was clear that the person and the job weren’t a good match for each other. (I generally wouldn’t do that. It was a special circumstance, for reasons I’ll skip here.)There are people who thought they did really well on an interview who have said things like “I answered every question I was asked.” Their interviewer might have said “They gave poor answers to my questions, and took a really long time to do it. I didn’t get a chance to get to the meatier stuff, because we ran out of time.”There are also people who did really well and thought they did horribly. A guy that I used to work with told me after he started that he was sure he failed my interview, because he took too long and missed something that should have been obvious. But what he didn’t know what what I’m comparing that to: most people took much longer to do this, and ended up with a worse solution. The place where my co-worker missed something, most people miss it. But after I pointed it out, they quickly fixed it, while most people take much longer (and some never get it fixed).

My hollister interview...?

i had an interview at hollister today and if you work at hollister or know a lot of info about it, i wanna tell you about it and you can tell me if you think i did well or not...
sooo first off, it started off bad cuz my dad forgot that i had an interview today so i arrived like 3 minutes late! they said its best to be there 5-10 minutes early so i obviously failed at that..but yeah they were introducing themselves alrdy by the time i walked in. um i applied for the model position. there were 8 other ppl interview (group interview). 2 others were applying for model, 6 were applying for impact so im glad i only had 2 others going for my position. after that, i smiled and introduced myself. once the manager asked the first question (what exactly does a model do, and what does the impact do?), my hand shot up..and i defined it right on. i did research on this and people that got hired all said to be confident and the FIRST to answer...so basically i was the first to answer every single question..i kinda felt like i talked a little too much...and seemed too confident:/ but my answers were original especially for the diversity question.
i said "diversity means difference, and i feel that difference is key to this workplace so workers and shoppers can all benefit from the opinions of each individual"
while everyone else said "it means different people with different backgrounds working together"
how do you think i did? please no mean comments. & todays tuesday, when would they call back if i got hired?

I think I did really bad on my delta sigma theta interview?

I think I did really bad on my delta sigma theta interview... It's sucks because I worked so hard making my packet PERFECT.... My letters were great and my gpa is well above 3.0... I was so nervous that after the third question one sorority member said to calm down and take a deep breath. I answered every question but I feel like I did horrible. My packet is perfect, I know that for a fact... Do I still have a good chance??

How will one bad interview, one great interview and three good interviews affect my chances at Google?

One bad interview may not necessarily doom your chances. I’ve never been on a hiring committee, so I only have my own personal anecdote to offer. I interviewed with Google around May of 2009. I went through the phone interviews just fine, and was scheduled for an onsite a week later. Flew in to Mountain View for 4 on sites.I completely bombed my first question (Given 4 numbers, write an algorithm to generate all possible mathematical expressions that evaluate to 24). After all these years, I still remember that question. I flailed around with it for a good 40 minutes. Had some code which kind of worked, but clearly was very hacky and didn’t cover all my basis. Then my interviewer, taking pity on me, gave me a hint in the last 5 minutes, and something clicked, and I came up with a bunch of pseudo code that was correct, but could’t expand it into real code, and didn’t have time to running time analysis. As far as I was concerned, I bombed it. That kind of took the pressure off for the rest of the day, and the other 3 questions went just fine. Didn’t really expect a call back at all. But as you can see, here I am, writing about it, when I should be debugging a test.Good luck!

Is it ok to say, "I dont know" during an interview?

I don't think it's ever good to lie in an interview. I feel the more sincere you are,the better chance you will have at getting the job. It you say that you don't know that will prove that you're not afraid to ask question when you don't know how to do a task. Honesty is always the best policy. I would suggest writing down possible questions that the interviewer might ask you; such as : why do you want this job. Go to the interview prepared and you will get the job. Research the position and know what they are looking for, fit the bill and you will have a successful interview. Good luck.

My interviewer said "I hope the rest of your interviews go as well as this" for an interview where I really performed badly. Is that a good sign or a bad sign?

I think Gayle is right, your impression of how well you did could just be wrong. There were many cases where the people I interviewed did not do well in the sense of solving the problem in the best way, but demonstrated strong skills and understanding, and I thought they did well on the things that mattered. It's more about how you solve a problem, and not necessarily whether you succeed. For instance, if you do give me a correct answer upfront, you might think you did well, but it doesn't mean much. If you struggle, but I can see that you are making progress on your own, you ask the right questions, you think about the problem as a programmer, that's pretty good.

How do you sell yourself in an interview?

I know all the interview questions and how to answer them according to my experience. How do I beat out all the other applicants who is also interested in the same position as me and get selected to round 2? I never seem to get selected to go to the second round.

What are signs a job interview went well?

I went on a interview. On my way in the receptionist greeted me warmly and told me not to be nervous that the interviewer ( VP of the dept.) was harmless. The interview began well with some light general conversation about my week. They asked many questions but none of them seemed to be doubting of my experience. They verbally acknowledged alot of my answers as " making alot of sense" and "excellent". They asked me when i could start at the end but we didn't talk about the salary and benefits (salary was however left on my voicemail prior to the interview.)

At the end, I made the move to shake everyone's hands (something they seemed to forget in our general conversation on the way out) and the VP walked me out and told me that there were just two more interviews. She handed me her card and told me if I had any questions, to email or call and they should decide by wednesday afternoon. Was this a good interview? If so, why?
