How Well To Ariat Boots Hold Up

Is it okay to wear leather boots in the rain?

Contrary to other responses, I would suggest not to wear Leather boots in rain on regular basis. Usually its not the leather that is damaged but the other parts of the shoe like glues, insoles, embellishments, metal zips, etc. that give away once fully wet. Cows don't use umbrella but they are alive in the rain. Leather is Skin of an Animal - a Dead Animal and there is no healing of this leather from the body of the animal and that's why leather ages faster without care.If you must wear the shoes in rain/water, make sure to use some leather protection sprays, water repellent shoe creams, mink Oil or you can use the Silicone sprays that are very good at repelling water and giving the leather a nice shine. If the shoes are wet, you should dry it in natural air without using hot air from hair dryers or any other heat source as it will deform them permanently.

Which boots are better devon aire or ariat?

ariat. I sell both kind of boots and i find ariat much better. they also have better sales as well. best answer please :)

Ariat tall field boots... heritage vs challenge?

Hey i am looking for a new pair of field boots and i cant decide if i should just get the heritage or spend some more and get the challenge. Does anyone have personal experience with the two different types? Any information would be great!

How long do Ariat tall field boots last?

I have the Ariat Heritage field boots, I believe. They hold up well, and are very durable. I think that they're pretty crappy boots, though. They seem to be designed for people with kankles, and that area is very loose and the boot doesn't stay up and hug my leg like it should. They look nice, and clean up well, but they don't fit me nearly as well now as they did when I bought them. I know that leather stretches, but it shouldn't stretch THAT much. I'm saving up to buy a pair of customs that look nicer and are more comfortable - I'll use those at shows instead. I use an old pair of Ariats for schooling and lessons and another pair for shows. I've never invested enough in my boots, but spending a bit more money is totally worth it.

Can I wear equestrian riding boots casually?

I really want a pair of nice dressy boots that I can wear all the time. I've tried buying decent boots before ($120 Bandolino boots) and after a year they're ready to be tossed, as I do a lot of walking.

This seems like the best option http://www.ariat.com/products_detail.aspx?pcid=12&cid=29&scid=114&pid=746&psid=0&refid=749&refsid=2347

Plus it's cute. Details: I live in an urban city as a college student who walks approximately 6-10 miles a day. Being in the midwest it rains from September-November. And then snows from December-April so I want something that will stand up for it for years to come. I thought about Uggs (the bailey triplet) but honestly they're sheep skin, they'll look nasty for the price I'll be paying.

I just didn't know if I'd ruin them, and again for that money, why bother.

How are Justin boots?

Justin boots, in my opinion, used to be a better boot as far as material and craftsmanship, but has slipped in the last decade or two, to sell to the masses. To compare them to Ariat is an easy comparison, Ariat is the better boot, whether western or english style. And no, the reason that Justin has done so well for so many years is not that they make the best boots nor sell them cheaper, it's because it is a company that umbrellas many different types of businesses...so that when one part loses money, the other one takes up the slack...many years Justin boots lost money, but their Brick company and other subsidiaries took up the slack, allowing them not only to survive, but to continue buying out other boot companies. I'm not saying that Justin is not a good boot, I wear their ropers myself, but when it comes to investing more money into a boot, say an exotic or special made boot, I can name several other companies that I would rather go with.

Is it OK to wear cowboy boots in the snow?

Depending upon the type of boot, "Cowboy " being a non-specific reference to various types of Western style boots, including but not limited to US, Australian, Canadian, Mexican, South American and European style riding and working boots. If they are a true working boot, which you tend to see in rural and suburban areas where resistance to weather is built into the boot design, leather type, weatherproofing, sole, etc, then yes, you can wear them in the snow.If they are a beautiful Lucchese smooth Ostrich handmade boot, then no, they are a handmade treasure, I would no more wear those in snow than I would a pair of Cleverly handmade cap toe leather sole boots. Ask a knowledgeable sales professional at your local boot store for advice. It is very common in large urban cities such as Dallas-Fort Worth or Houston to see a gentleman in a tailored suit with dress boots that are not made to withstand every day use in snow, sleet and the resulting mud.

What is the best type of riding boots?

I'm a big fan of Ariat - their boots last forever and they're definitely build to withstand heavy work. My english and combination riding / hiking boots (both Ariat) are the most comfortable riding boots I ever owned, and all are built with the same sole technology.

I just bought a pair of Justins, and I do have to say that they ARE comfortable. But I bought them kind of more for fashion than for serious riding.

I would go with the Ariats- I think they will last you longer.

Saxon or Equi Star Paddock boots?

I tried both of those brands (in the tall boot version) as I used to like to wear tall boots everyday and both were horrible quality. They looked OK at first, but didn't clean up too well. The stitching came undone at the tops. I went through 4 pairs of them (they kept sending me more! >.<).

My suggestion is to get some Ariat boots- they cost a lot more, but will actually last more than a month or two.
