How Would I Fill Out This Section For A Csu Application Appreciated

Is UC Berkeley on the Common Application? Why?

UC Berkeley is the top university in the University of California system The UC System. It includes nine campuses Campuses | UC Admissions. You can apply to any or all of them through the UC application How to apply | UC Admissions.By using one application for several UC campuses, students save money on the test reports fees. You can have a test score sent to one campus and it will be shared with all the campuses to which you apply. If these universities were on the Common App, you would have to send your score reports to each of them. It’s not the reason “why” UC application, but it sure is appreciated by those students who apply to several UC campuses.Although there are 700+ colleges on the Common App list, many schools use their own application forms. MIT, for example. UW, UF too. Each school can decide what application format is a better fit for their admissions process.

Applying to CSU East Bay Late?

Hi Stewart,
You're in luck! You can apply to Cal State East Bay as a first time freshman until April 1, 2012 for the fall 2012 quarter.

Is it best to apply for a CSU in the "undeclared" major?

Actually in some of the CSU schools, such as Cal Poly Pomona and Fullerton, undeclared is also an impacted major. There are so many students who don't know what major they want to go in, so they decide to put undeclared. So I would choose carefully. Research each school and see which school is impacted for the undeclared major and which one isn't.

Do you have to be an amazing student to get into California State Long Beach?

You have to be a decent student. CSULB is fairly competitive in some departments and is a very diverse campus, meaning applications vary significantly with different backgrounds. If you didn't do well in High School, I'd recommend a city college before transferring to increase your odds into getting to any campus, even a UC. They give a lot of attention to Associate for transfer and whether you finish majority of your requirements and even CSU igetc (general education requirements). But even if you're in a JC and your grades are not the best, still attempt to apply. Luck may be on your side.Good luck on your academic journey!

Does anyone know how good California State University's pre-med and biological sciences dept. are?

Hi Ganesh,
Thanks for your interest in Cal State East Bay (CSUEB).

The Princeton Review selected Cal State East Bay as a "Best in the West" college for the seventh consecutive year. The report is based upon surveys of current students, who noted the following highlights: affordable tuition, small class sizes, and a multicultural community. U.S. News & World Report recognized Cal State East Bay for its exceptionally diverse student body, ranking us the second most diverse master's-granting university in the Western region.

A significant number of students take advantage of the basic and advanced science and mathematics courses, advising programs, science & math tutoring support opportunities, and competitive tuition and fees of CSUEB to prepare for application to professional programs in the health-related professions.

CSUEB also helps you prepare for your future in medicine by offering the Preprofessional Health Academic Program (PHAP) operated by the College of Science. The program helps to prepare students interested in health professional careers (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, veterinary science, physical therapy and selected allied health programs) for application to these doctoral programs.

A preprofessional health advisor will meet with you at least quarterly to discuss courses, course mix, course load and volunteer, research, and community service opportunities required by many professional schools. The current director of the program and preprofessional health advisor is Dr. Oscar Wambuguh, an assistant professor of health sciences. He usually holds regular prehealth advising hours as indicated at the program website. Peer student advisors (officers of the PreHealth Society) hold regular office hours which are also posted at the program site.
For more information: http://www.csueastbay.edu/ecat/current/u...

If you haven’t been to CSUEB, we encourage you to take a campus tour. Walking tours of the campus depart from the Welcome Center Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

We hope you will consider CSUEB and become a Pioneer. Good luck!

CSULB: What exactly does this mean?! Am I waitlisted?!?

Thanks guys! Should I send a type up letter to the admissions office letting them know that I am really interested in attending CSULB?

I read on a site that doing so will get you put on the top of that list.

What is it like to be a 'white' minority at CSU Dominguez Hills?

I suppose my answer to this question is it was fine. I never experienced any problems or issues related to my race during my time at CSUDH. I made some great friends, and I performed well academically. Did the fact that I was a minority benefit me? I never was aware of such a benefit, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen to me. I did receive a lot of help from people, and I repaid that kindness by helping people who wanted it. I enjoyed my time spent at CSUDH. I recommend the school to everyone, regardless of race. With the ever-changing dynamics in Southern California, I don’t think that the race dynamics at CSUDH are even different than the surrounding cities, so honestly being a minority is not a difference from my everyday life. I like diversity, even if it makes me a minority because I don’t think only one race deserves majority status. Life goes on, and I think we should embrace change, so that we can open our minds to the beauty and wonder of the future.
