How Would I Order This At Starbucks

How do you order at starbucks?

I'm assuming you want to know how to order more complicated drinks in the way that a Starbucks barista would.Firstly, and this is very important: if there’s a line up, know what you want to order before you get to the counter.Obviously speaking clearly and respectfully to the barista serving you goes a long way as well.As for ‘calling’ drink modifiers, do what the baristas do and follow the back of the cup. It's ordered the way it is for a purpose, and it's much easier to write complex modifiers if you give them sequentially. This is a standard cup. Note the order of the boxes going down the cup.First, specify whether or not the drink is iced. If it's hot, you don't have to say anything. Next, the number of shots. Now, specify the size.I f you know the nomenclature, great, if not, extra small-small-medium-large is fine. The reason the size is called after the shots is to prevent confusion between number of shots and number of syrup pumps, if applicable. Either way is fine. Now, move down the cup calling modifiers in order. If you don't want to change something from the standard recipe, don't call that box.(i.e., a grande vanilla latte could be ordered as a double caffeinated grande, 4 pump vanilla, 2%, +foam latte, but the drink code supposes all of that.)For example:Correct: iced triple grande vanilla americanoIncorrect: grande americano, vanilla, triple, icedCorrect: decaf venti half-sweet hazelnut nonfat with-whip mochaIncorrect: venti mocha with half sweet hazelnut, non fat milk but still whip cream, decafIt may sound trivial, but when you process as many orders per day as a barista, it's an extremely effective template. When I worked for Starbucks, I could remember hundreds of drinks back if they were told to me in the standard order, but could hardly remember more than one if it was given to me jumbled.

How do I order Iced Coffee at Starbucks?

I've always had McDonald's Iced Coffee's and thought I'd give Starbucks a try. On their site it says it's coffee, milk and sweetend...when I asked for a tall iced coffee with milk (sounds simple?) the woman looked at me for a sec and then was like ok, do you want milk in the coffee? I said yes. They added ice, 75% coffee and 25% millk, no sugar and gave it to me. It was good, no sugar, but good.

The second time I went and asked for it, the girl had to ask the guy preparing the drinks, that I wanted an iced coffee and what should she mark it as...she made it an americano something...what gives? Am I ordering it wrong? I feel absolutely stupid ordering at Starbucks as is sincey everyone seems to use all these fancy words for low fat, skim etc.

How am I supposed to order it?!?

Can I order decaf coffee at Starbucks?

The rush had ended ten minutes ago. My shift supervisor Katie thought it’d be a good idea to pre-close the store early for the night shift, but I wanted to enjoy the down time a little more.Come on, boss lady, let’s pour espressos and mark-out a cinnamon swirl coffee cake. We’ve earned it.That’s when she came in, Ms. Know-It-All.“One decaf latte, please.” She folded her arms. “I’m allergic to caffeine, so make sure it’s decaf.”“Ummm, Miss…”“WHAT?”“Decaf still has caffeine.”“No it doesn’t!” She stomped her feet. “I’m a R.E.G.U.L.A.R., regular!”I rinsed out the shots, poured and steamed milk, before setting down the pitcher and pulling her DECAF shots.“Decaffeination is a process,” I said handing her the please don’t die latte. “Let me know if you feel sick and I’ll call an ambulance.”“I’ll be fine,” she insisted.Okay, okay, you know more than me lady. I turned to my supervisor and asked if it was cake time.“Keep an eye on her,” she started washing the syrup bottles, “she might be trying to sue the company for money.”Sue Howard Schultz? Howie?!?! That’s horrible! How could she? How dare her? Why are you cleaning that pump? Come on, Katie! Let’s eat some CAKE!!!Cough, cough.Oh no.ACHOOO!It’s happening. What are we going to do? I don’t know CPR! I’m just a coffee master wannabe!!!!Ms. Know-it All put her feet up, reclined on the lazy boy, and asked, “Why didn’t you tell me decaf still has caffeine?”I nudged my shift supervisor as an ambulance took her away and said, “I guess you can say she really took the cake.”She rolled her eyes, after sighing, “Oh alright,” and handed me a slice of warmed up cinnamon swirl, “go ahead and take your ten.”And it was happily-ever after for everyone except for the eager beaver that couldn’t listen to her friendly neighborhood barista and maybe kicked the bucket, or something.FINYes, you can get decaf. But please, PLEASE, only order if you’re not allergic.

How do you order a Tuxedo Mocha from Starbucks?

Edit 10–29–2017: It appears that Starbucks has decided on debuting the Black and White Mocha as the official name for the Tuxedo Mocha. So go ahead and order a Black and White Mocha this winter 2017!Tuxedo Mocha, Penguin Mocha, Zebra Mocha, Black and White MochaThey’re all the same beverage just different names. Tuxedo Mocha is the most commonly used and if you simply ask for a Tuxedo Mocha at the register, most partners should know it if they’ve worked for a few months.PRO TIP!You must specify how much syrup you want! It is NOT a standard beverage and depending on who rings you up and who makes the beverage you could end up with a beverage that’s different from the next. Why? Evan Drake is correct in the number of pumps of syrup (3, 4, 5 and 6 for ice venti) but only for beverages with a single syrup. A standard beverage like Peppermint Mocha or Salted Caramel Mocha that has 2 different syrups get that amount for both syrups. So what happens is that tenured partners (especially ones who don’t like sweet things) will follow the 3, 4, 5 rule and use half of each mocha and white mocha. This way the sweetness of the beverage would be comparable to most sweetened beverages. However, I would say a more Starbucks Standard way would be to use 3, 4, 5 of each syrup. I say this is more standard as amount of syrup would be the same as a peppermint mocha and also it would be the amount the register (the holy grail of recipe standards) suggests for a Mocha add White Mocha (how a Tuxedo Mocha is ordered on the register). So what is the correct way? There is no correct way! Just your preferred way! If the sweetness level of a regular vanilla latte is your thing, then order it Evan’s way of half each. If you like the sweetness of a Peppermint Mocha then order it with 3, 4, 5 of each syrup! I personally like it Evan’s way

Can you order a coffee extra hot with a Starbucks app?

Any drink that has a “milk” product in it can be made extra hot and there is an option under “milk” choices for “extra hot” that you can choose for the drink. Regular drip coffee cannot be made extra hot in the store so there is no option in the app to request it. The only way to make a drink extra hot is to make the milk extra hot in a drink that uses a lot of milk such as a latte, mocha or a macchiato. Coffee is only brewed at one temperature.
