How Would Life Be Like In Dubai

How is life in dubai.?

It is one of the finest cities in Asia, infact in the world.
Culture is supposedly islamic. But you are allowed to practise your own religion also. There is no restriction on movement. You can find plenty of your country's citizens here. Arabic is the national language but as long you know English you dont have to worry a dime. Everybody speaks very good english here. You can find plenty of people from the Indian subcontinent, China, Russia, Whites and other arab countries.
Its a kind of open and broad minded city. You can get all the things here that you can lay hand in your native country. Booze, babes whatever you wish. Though adultery and prostitution is illegal by law, the authorities turn a blind eye just to encourage tourists to visit the city. You can do anything u wish as long as you dont shout about it.(drugs are not allowed)

Good things:
Very broad minded guys, 100% public safety. Even a lady can walk at 2 AM without worrying about her safety. (which infact is not advisable to do in newyork).
There are no drugs. (and carrying drugs entail very severe punishment) so you will not get into some nasty habits.

Word of caution:
Just because the city is liberal dont take too much advantage of it. Nude in public will warrant immediate arrest and deportation. Emiratis (locals) of the country are hardly 10% of the population. They are very nice people. but keep clear of them if there is any issue. In the event there is a problem law enforcement will not be supporting your cause even if you are right.
Emirati ladies are some of the finest beauties in the earth. But never get into any relationship with them. Should there be any problem again you will not find much support.
Dubai is a very small city. Even without your knowledge you may get in to its neighbour Sharjah which is not supposedly that cool. So beware of the surroundings and the exact place where you are.

Bad things:
High cost of living. Crowded roads, Very heavy traffic. And no longer how many years you live you are always an expatriate. You can never become the citizen of the country.

Respect the local traditions, customs and the prayer timings. Wear modest clothing when you are near any mosque. Thats it.
Its a great place. Good luck

What is it like to live in Dubai?

I'm going to give you a more realistic answer. Dubai is awful. Do not live there. Dubai is simply a facade. They try to make themselves look like a rich and advance city but it's not.

I'll give you the reasons why I say this.

Here, an American woman gives 20 reasons why Dubai sucks

Here's a great article you should read (it's VERY long but it's an entertaining read, I read the whole thing)

watch this video report. I was so shocked, I cried. Hopefully, this video will make you change your mind about Dubai. Dubai sucks.

You may wonder why I hate Dubai so much (even though I've never been there). The reason is because of the way the government is treating the workers building those skyscrapers. They're treating them like slaves!!

I used to be fascinated with Dubai because of those skyscrapers but after finding out how the government treats those workers, I hate that place (as you can tell)

Dubai sucks and it's a facade. Period.

Teenage life in Dubai?

Hi
Being from UK, you may like the following about Dubai
1.A safe city for women even during late nights(relatively speaking)
2.Tax free economy.
3.The shopping malls are cool to hang around.
4.A large number of expats from the UK live here.
5.Its bright and sunny for most of the year.

You may dislike the below
1.A very hot summer running from June to mid September with temperatures touching 50 C.
2. Some people drive so reckless making it unsafe for others in their path (and the occasional road rage).

Overall its a nice place to live and study/work.

You could google dubai to get to know more about the culture, so you wouldnt experience the "culture shock"

Cheers

Teenage life in Dubai?

ive lived in dubai for 7 years & im 15. moving back to nz as i feel as though my teenage life is being wasted here.

1. the schools are really good actually. they push you pretty hard though but it all pays off. they lack normal school things though like formals/proms, socials. but dont worry about that cause there are always heaps of parties out of school.

2. haha sorry but yup girls are pretty bitchy here. but i wouldnt say overly bitchy cause everywhere you go in the world there are going to be losers who think they are better than everyone else. best thing is too avoid them, there are plenty of friendly people. dubai is so multi-cultural, i think i have about 11 different nationalities in my class of 20. majority being british.

3. OHMAIGAWD! i love home and away. but nah it doesnt i watch it on youtube cause people put the lastest episodes up everyday so you will still be able to watch it. give me a holla if you cant find the eps you want.

4. shopping, indoor skiing, dune bashing, parties, more shopping, going to parks (although they are crap), more parties, movies, hanging out at mall, theme parks, water parks, hotel beaches. it really depends what your into, i hate shopping so i get pretty bored sometimes but if you like it, your in heaven :)

5. you make new mates instanly, we are all use to people coming & going so you will probs make friends pretty fast.

6. oh god. its about 48 degrees right now, i cant even go outside but around christmas it is soo nice. about 25 degrees. most people escape for the summer as it is in the 2 month holiday.

7. haha dont worry about them. NOTHING to be scared of. except be careful of some of the creepy guys. i have srsly lost count of how many have asked to marry me. best thing is too hang out in groups and ignore them.

if you have any more questions, just ask. what month are you coming to dubai? oh and do you know what school you might go to?

hope this helps, i might even meet you when you come :)

xx

How will life be in Dubai for an Indian?

It depends on salary. If someone paid well above 10000 dirhams then it is ok. Otherwise he need to live in bedspace sharing with 4–5 people and lots of bed bugs. Self cooking, or else eating monotonous meal from cheapest restaurant, lamenting hot weather all around the year, cursing stupid bosses, heavily breathing on high end fashion stores and skyscrappers, wanking in dirty rest room, missing his family.
