How Would One Go About Repealing A State Ban

Is it possible to get banned from a state?

YES YES YES you can! mess up enough and they can throw you out of the state and tell you never to come back.
I know someone who was thrown out of Las Vegas, NV and they aren't kidding around about it. If he gets caught in NV not just Las Vegas it's NV he will go to jail for contempt of a court order!

How can I repeal a city ordinance or ban?

You know, your the kind of Person that really pisses me off. Your Irresponsibility lead to your dog getting in a fight & All you can say is " As w/ any other dog he explored" .
No, it is you fault your dog got out & your fault they want a Ban- good job, make it harder for me to own my dogs. Your neighbors have every right to shoot your dog if it gets out again & I hope they do.

Sorry to say, but w/ your Attitude & lack of care for this breed- I hope they overlook your Irresponsiblity, but make you pay for the other dogs bills. ( well unless it was a Stray)

Here are some websites that can help you fight against the ban:

Could individual states ignore/repeal the Hughes Amendment (full auto ban), or the NFA all together?

Say Wyoming or Utah said that the Hughes Amendment, or the National Firearms Act, violated the Second Amendment, could those individual states repeal these laws from their borders, and allow the manufacture, sale, and transfer of full autos, and destructive devices to civilians?

Also, if they did that, could they create a clause in their legislation that makes it illegal for any public servant to try to enforce such laws within their state (like in the recent Wyoming Firearm Owners Protection Act)?

Can anyone show me one instance of a prominent Democratic politician calling for the repeal of the 2nd Amendment or taking away guns from law abiding citizens?

John Crafton had a very good answer with direct quotes of Democrats doing exactly that. However, you don’t even have to go through those examples. States have passed the so-called Red Flag laws where a judge orders a citizen’s gun Rights taken away. The citizen (subject of the order) has NO notice, there is NO due process! The citizen has NO representation, and is NOT present in court. These laws make a citizen GUILTY with NO trial AT ALL. The courts tell the police force, that the citizen is armed, and is a danger to himself or others! How do you think that the police treat the citizen???? Do you think that they are going to politely knock on the door and explain that there is a court order? Heck NO. The cops have been told that the person is an armed DANGEROUS person!!! All on an UNPROVEN, UNINVESTIGATED ACCUSATION!All that you need in order to answer this question is this one example! For those reading this answer, what do you think of a law which sends the cops to someone’s home, busting in the door, permission or no, handcuffing citizens, forcibly taking property, with ZERO PROOF of GUILT????This is way beyond just having a bunch of Democrats dimwits spouting off about their plans to attack the the 2nd Am Rights of citizens!!These are examples of a massive abuse of power by the state legislatures, and by the courts! This is a tyrannical government, abusing power in contradiction of the founding document. The sad part is that the courts are so corrupt that they go along with the total elimination of due process, and the people of the US, are SO apathetic about their Rights, and SO accepting of a tyrannical government, that they are not slightly upset at the ELIMINATION of due process. What other circumstances would you like to have the government empowered to bust into your home or office, search and CONFISCATE your property, handcuff and put you on the ground,,,,,, all WITHOUT any hearing that you are a part of (or even have the SLIGHTEST representation), and ELIMINATE your Rights??? You should think about that, because if they can do it in any instance, WHAT is to stop them from doing it in any other instance?? You can not just give up ONE Right!!!One last thing, if this happens to you, then you will need to spend THOUSANDS of dollars of YOUR money, and you will have to prove your innocence!!! How do you prove something which has NOT happened???

Would happen if DOMA was repealed?

1. All of the 1138 federal benefits afforded to marriages(currently listed per DOMA as 1 man, 1 woman) would apply to same sex couples.

So, all the same sex couples who are married in MA, CT, & the 18,000+ couples who are married in CA would be afforded all the benefits that other married couples have.

2. If a married same sex couple moved from a state that recognized their marriage to another state/US territory, that state/territory would have to recognize that marriage for for state/federal benefits & under federal law.

I have included the benefits in question from the General Accounting Office (GAO) of the US Gov't.

In other words, if DOMA was repealed, my wife could get my Social Security/VA benefits, be considered as my dependent once I restart work with the Federal Gov't (& receive health insurance & be a beneficiary on my life insurance), & not have to pay federal tax on my state employer's health insurance for my wife.

It would be nice...

For those of you who believe all guns should be banned in the United States, how do you propose repealing the 2nd Amendment, and if you don't believe that it can be done, how do you propose to legally bypass it?

I am not in favor of banning private ownership of guns, just as I am not in favor of banning ownership of anything else including marijuana. However, if I were in favor of banning ownership of guns, the 2nd Amendment would not need to be repealed or bypassed. To the contrary, the 2nd Amendment would only need to be correctly interpreted by its literal meaning:"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."The amendment does not say anything about individuals’ right to keep and people, rather it ensures the right of the “The People,” collectively, to keep and bear arms in the form of a “well-regulated militia.” This means that the well-regulated militia, aka the US military, shall be owned and controlled by the people, as opposed to a monarch, emperor, dictator or some other ruler as was the case while the Colonies were ruled by the British crown. “The people,” in this context, refers to the civilian government, led by the citizens’ elected representatives in Congress.

Why hasn't the us repealed the 2nd amendment yet?

t is an outdated and barbaric law that was only necessary when the British were invading America over 200 years ago. Litreally every other 1st world country has banned guns and they're crime rates are much lower. There is a mass shooting almost every day. And America has more guns than any other country in the world. Why are we still seeing blood on the governments hands due to their unwillingness to make change. Why is the NRA allowed to keep lobbying and controlling our lawmakers. Why do we have Donald trump in office? The numbers speak for themselves. Australia banned guns in the 90s after a mass shooting and hasnt had one since. The UK pretty much only has knife crime which is far safer than gun crime. Norway has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, as does Japan. We need to look forward and start implementing progressive polices based on common sense. It's super ironic that the same side that wants to ban abortion because it "kills babies" is the same side that supports people having ACTUAL LITERAL KILLING MACHINES. America is falling behind fast, and if we don't do something abut it now, we won't last another 10 years. Wake up and stop watching Fox News.

Did the Yahoo! story on the ten safest States mention any of this?

The Yahoo! story on the ten safest States listed the 10 safest States and linked to a companion story about the 10 most dangerous but I didn't see comparisons between the two sets of States.
Is anyone looking at ways the worst States could emulate the best? Compared to the 10 most violent States, the 10 safest, on average:

> Have 13% lower State/local taxation
> Voted 15% more Republican in 2014
> Have 36% less "sensible gun control" (Based on scores by the Brady Campaign)
> Have 18% more conservatives per-capita (Poll responders self-identifying as conservative)
> Have 12% fewer registered Democrats per-capita
> Are 12% more gun-owner friendly (Based on scores by Guns & Ammo Magazine staff)
> Elected 28% fewer Democrats over time
> Have 21% more guns per-person

Are "Democrat Moms Demanding Action" recommending more people buy guns? Are they lobbying to repeal States' "gun-control" laws? Are they campaigning against Democrats?
No, they're actually demanding the safest States emulate the deadliest ones and lobbying D.C. to FORCE them to do it. Is that due to ignorance, mental illness or evil?
