How Would You Describe His Face

How can you describe an angry face?

Slitty eyed, gnashing teeth.

How would you describe a handsome face?

kind of high cheek bones. Intense blue eyes, almost mystifying. Kinda scruffy looking. Trust me I am a writer of romance and I know your dilemma. But don't try to describe his face so much, let your reader be able to decide that more, it makes it more interesting to read. Try more or less to describe his clothing and how she ran her fingers through his long hair or something physically intimate like that, it makes it more realistic.

How can I describe faces for writing?

Assuming that you read widely, pay attention to how other writers describe faces. For example, when I tried my hand at screenwriting, I watched the first ten minutes of a hundred films to see how directors/screenwriters set up their films in the opening scenes. Then I studied transitions from scene to scene.Faces, like snowflakes and fingerprints, are unique… but they also share characteristics. To reproduce the unique features of your characters means seeing them very clearly in your head. I know a novelist who would cut out from magazines pictures of faces for each of her characters and tape them to the wall above her writing desk. The details would then be constantly fresh and consistent throughout the book.Warning: There is one danger in studying other writers’ descriptions of faces. One time when I was first starting out I liked a description so much that I “borrowed” it. This is called plagiarism and is forbidden in writing. The story was published, but I felt guilty forever after, and used to worry that someone might read that short passage and say, “Hey, seems like I read something like that in Hesse’s Demian… Yeah, I just read that again last week.” O.K., I took it from a far more obscure source, but t was one of the classics and I am ashamed ever since. Which is actually a good thing. One of the ways to avoid becoming guilty of writing in cliches is to actually look with your own eyes and learn how to see faces as they are, and practice finding new ways to capture what you see.Write on!

How would you describe a dog licking your face?

I'm working on my descriptive essay and I'm stuck on how I would bring this to life by writing. I have wet. I just need two more things that can really bring this subject to life.

How do you describe a beautiful face?

A complexion or strong defined features that can be worn bare, without the aid of artificial enhancements.

What "I" personally find beautiful in a face:
Pallid and clear skin
High cheek bones
Defined/slim cheeks
Delicate chin(both male and females)
Narrowed eyes
Narrow/straight nose
Long, thick lashes
High arched brows
Ample lips(somewhat fuller)
Small widows peak
Smaller ears

A proportioned face is a beautiful face. Everyone has their personal tastes but the more "equally set" a face is, the more attractive.

No one likes zit clustered and oily face. We also don't find gobs of makeup attractive. It makes you wonder, "What are they hiding?".

Natural beauty is a rare thing to me. I don't see many people worth looking at out here.

THE TRICK: It's all in the words you use. Use the proper adjectives and you can make anyone look pretty.

Here, I'll try a little description:
From behind the door an eye of exuberant blue stared on. Little by little, I could see a pallid complexion of a soft and feminine chin. His most glorious feature, defined cheeks that I find hard to forget. There before me, I saw a beautiful boy.

Note: That was very cheesy. I don't like my description... Just gonna point that out there.
:P

Good luck
