How Would You Feel If Your Roommate Left You Notes About Petty Things

What should you do if your roommates refuse to clean up after themselves in common areas?

I feel for you on this one. I had roommates at one point who ate out of a pot of chicken pasta that was left on the stove for days. They’d leave raw chicken in the fridge so long that I coined the term “death chicken” for the smell that got everywhere.I tried talking to them, left notes, and even tried cleaning up after them. But the cleanup started taking over my life. I asked if I could break lease or sublet my room and the landlord wouldn’t let me out. It would seem that he’d been burned in the past too.The second the lease was up, I was out of there. I even stayed with my parents for a bit before the lease was up just for my sanity sake. (Yep, I still paid my end of the bills even when I wasn’t around.)Whatever you do, keep it civil and don’t burn bridges. I burned a few too many and folks that were friends at one point didn’t stay that way. When you go to move, find people that are on the same page as you cleaning-wise. And don’t take their word for it…my roommates told me they were clean freaks. See if you can visit them where they live now. Better yet, if you can get away from having roommates altogether it’s totally worth it.I stopped doing roommates after my last experience and I would never go back. It’s a saver of friendships and everyone gets to keep their sanity.

How do I ask my roommate to stop using my things?

She tends to use my things and eats my food from time to time. When I moved in with her, we didn't know each other and right away she began to use my blenders, juicers, kitchen supplies, and ate my food. I feel as though she doesn't "respect" my belongings, i.e: leaves them dirty in the sink for days, doesn't use them carefully. I mean, blenders and juicers are expensive! I have tried hinting at it, but she doesn't get the hint. We are having another roommate join us soon, and I don't want her thinking she can do the same thing.
Do I have to keep these items in my room or what?!

Why do my roommate feel left out?

I tried to understand her but apparently it still goes on and on. I want her to do her thing and not hold back from fun most of the time. I felt like she depends on me for have fun or do something most of the time. I tried but what she wants to do is different from what i want to do. I am trying to make her not feel left out but its freaking hard....help thx

My ex roommate is blackmailing me?

A year ago i moved out into an apartment with 3 roommates. We all got along at first and at the middle of the year one decided he would leave. He signed the papers saying he was LEGALLY off the lease. Now at the end of our lease hes asking for his part of the security deposit back. My other mates decided against it because he forfeited the lease. He sent texts threatening me and saying he was going to do 'bad things' to me. Told him to block my # and he keeps texting me petty sh#t and honestly i want to beat the f#ck out of him. Then after i turned in my keys to the apartment, i got a letter stating i owed 800$ because i owned a cat, dog and snake. He mustve gone to the landladies and told them that. I have done nothing to him, what can i do about this?

Set up webcam and caught my roommate stealing. Is this illegal in Florida?

I suspected my roommate who lives in another bedroom of stealing. Though I asked her several times not to use my things and she denied it, I still had my suspicions. I left my webcam on when I left for a couple of hours today to see if my suspicions were justified or if I was just crazy... but an hour into the video she walked in and started going through/using/taking my things. Is this legal? I do not want to get in trouble at the apartment complex I live at for doing this... please, answer me with facts and not opinions. This is very important to me, as some of my deceased fathers belongings that I had are now missing, and I want to confront her so I can try to get them back, but I can't if she can use the video against me.

My roommate called the cops on me! D:?

The best thing would tell the landlord she has to be evicted, that you an the other room mate are having constant disputes and arguments with her and that you both feel uncomfortable in her presence.

You should also contact the Police your self and tell her about her aggressiveness.... they will also help you in the steps to do.

P.s: Tell your landlord that the Police have already, and will be involved again if nothing happens.

Why am I getting extremely irritated by some little things that my roommate does?

I totally agree with Nubian Gazelle - if your roommate's behavior really irritates you and you don't know why, don't dwell on the why too much. Your brain is giving you a clear signal. Just go somewhere else.Over the years I've had roommates that I couldn't stand, for one reason or another. Rather than turning it into a confrontation, I'd just make modest efforts to avoid that person. Getting out of the apartment is usually a good thing, too. Call a friend. Volunteer somewhere. Join a club.Good luck
