Howto Get Into A Plowover Backwards Summersault

When the bow of a boat goes under a wave and then resurfaces, what is it called?

I have never done this so stop saying that. I'm not an idiot! I'm just asking the name of it. If there are large waves and you point the bow into the wave the water will go over the bow. If you are side ways you will either capsise or ride the wave. I have not and do not do this! I stay onshore when there are big waves.

What is your worst accident from either skiing or snowboarding?

My sister and I have been skiing since we were little and although I’ve had a whole bunch of falls and various mishaps, I never really received a serious injury. At least until our trip to Verbier, Switzerland about eight years ago.Verbier is a ski resort with incredible views that is known for it’s back country or off-piste skiing. Verbier is also known for it’s steep descents and variable snow conditions. Definitely a place for experienced skiers.Off-piste skiing is loads of fun but because the trails aren’t groomed it can be quite dangerous because there is all kinds of stuff you can run over and smush into.So my sister and I started down Bec des Rosses and were having a great time. We’ve done a lot of back country skiing but Verbier throws a serious technical challenge at the skier and doesn’t tolerate any mistakes.I was doing just fine when my ski hit something. Something hard. I almost lost it but regained my balance and continued on down. My left foot was hurting but with this descent that wasn’t surprising. We finally got to the bottom and when I took off the skis and took a step, I fell down. I tried to step again and I fell again. Something was obviously wrong with my foot.So I hobbled on down and got a ride to the local hospital and to my surprise my fifth metatarsal bone in my left foot was complete broken. So they set the bone and put a cast that almost went up to my knee. I ended up wearing that darn cast for six weeks. The strange part was that except for when I actually snapped the bone on whatever it was I hit, it didn’t really hurt.So we had a great time at Verbier and got in several good runs before the gods of the mountain decided they had quite enough of me.

Why I read that tigers are more fast and agile than male lions even though they are about the same size?

because the tiger lives in the jungle. To catch its prey it has to leap over logs, break through grass, dodge trees and spiders webs and maybe even plow through water.

A male lion can run very fast, but it doesn't hunt usually. the females do the hunting. and they just have to run, there is usually nothing in their way on the plains.

What speed would an SUV need to achieve to produce a front flip when one slams on the brakes?

It's not going to happen in the real world. Even in an SUV the vehicles centre of gravity isn't high enough up and far enough forward for this to happen with the level of grip available between the tyres and the road.It is possible to do this on a sports motorcycle for precisely the same reasons, but reversed: a sports bike is built to be  light and ti deliberately have the COG high up, to make it easier to get it to turn, and forwards to reduce the tendency for it to wheelie. Under heavy braking the COG will want to "keep going" over the top of the front wheel, causing the front suspension to be compressed and the rear suspension extended. Even a semi-skilled road-rider (e.g. myself) is able to brake hard enough to get the rear suspension fully extended such that there's essentially no weight on the rear wheel. With a skilled rider and a little more pressure on the front brakes it's possible to lift the rear wheel right off the ground. An unskilled rider and the same amount of braking will have the bike flip right over the front wheel, an "endo:An SUV just can't do this. It's too heavy, the COG is too low and too far back and the tyre/brake combination can't produce enough retardation to get the rear wheels off the ground: the front wheels will lock first and it will just plough straight on in a cloud of tyre smoke.

Is a Mercedes Benz still the status symbol it used to be or has Volvo finally surpassed them?

In Canada, Volvos have a bit of status, but not like a Mercedes. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes are still at the top. Volvo is in the next tier, including Lincoln, Cadillac, Infiniti. Acura is close to those, but maybe a bit higher. Lexus varies between matched with Mercedes, or just below the Germans, depending on whether the owner/proponent is a driving fan, or luxury cruiser fan.Again, these are my opinions, and not just specific to Canada, but to Canada’s west coast, which has a lot more Europeans, British, Chinese and Indians than the rest of Canada. And with the higher influence of Europeans, we also value performance more than back east (and they value the ability to plow through snow-banks and deal with conditions that we don’t experience).Even compared to the American PNW (Pacific North West) our buying is very different. For example, drive south of Seattle to San Diego and one of the most popular vehicles on I-5 is the Honda Pilot, but very few Acuras. (of course, the Subaru Outback is the official vehicle of Wash. and Oregon hipsters, and the most common vehicle). Around Vancouver the Pilot practically does not exist (except for sightings of ones with Washington state plates) but the Acura MDX is everywhere. Same base vehicle, but Canadians buy the up-scale Acura-badged version … maybe there aren’t many Acura dealers in the USA? I don’t know.We have a private school a block from me. The students are 100% Asian (mostly Chinese with a few Koreans) and their wealthy parents’ vehicles in the parking lot are over 90% German SUVs (in Black, Grey or White … there are no other colours for Chinese buyers of German vehicles in Vancouver) with the occasional Volvo XC90. And I once saw a VW Atlas (in White) … the American built, budget Q7.I actually think that you’ll find that Volvo has more status amongst other European car buyers than amongst the general public. And my German mechanic reports that many of his customers, who are buyers of newer European vehicles, are moving to Volvo, not for prestige, but for reliability.
