Hp Pavillion Slimline S5000

What graphics card can I put in my HP Pavilion Slimline S5000?

Does your HP S5000 look like this? If so, then it has a half-height PCI-E x16 slot.

The problem is with slimlines, you cannot install very good graphics cards. Slimlines can only take low-profile cards, standard cards don't fit inside the smaller case. Also, the power supplies on slimlines are proprietary smaller models, which sometimes cannot be upgraded.

Right now you could install a Radeon HD 6450, but nothing above that.

If you upgraded your S5000 power supply to a 300W-400W unit, like these:

Then you could install a low-profile Radeon HD 6670. That's the best card your computer can take.

By the way, the 300W psu will probably work fine, AMD's published requirement for the 6670 is inflated way above what the card really needs. You system's total power draw with a 6670 installed would be under 250 watts.

Hp pavilion slimline series s5000 s5713w problems?

I am tired of asking a certain question, and even putting it in details in the details box, and not getting the question I want answered by something that does not really partain to my question. But I would like to know two things. Why doesn't my computer display anything. And how would you go about fixing it. I tried everything and possibly need a new graphic card, but everything worked fine until my brother took it apart. It needed a HD so I took it out, and when he took it apart I putted it back together and nothing is showing. It worked befor I putted it away so there is no way it can be burned up with out having power to it. Also I was wondering if I have everything in the right spot because once I plug it up it turns on it self and I know it shouldn't do that so what is causeing this to. I have had people say I need a new mother board but why waste money on that when I can buy a graphic card if I need it.

This is my computer I worked on it and so forth but this stumps me and I need the help. Please only serious answers only not just some crappy one this is serious. Thanks.

HP Pavilion Slim video & power?

minimum system requirements means the game will play, it doesnt mean it will play well. Geforce 610 is almost a side grade. I would recommend an AMD 7750 which ive seen for $65 or a geforce 650 or better. If PSU was the problem the system would crash when starved for power. Also without research there is no gaurantee that a 300watt power supply is better then the 220w your system came with. the ratings are sometimes exaggerated.

For example a quality 300w powersupply can sustain 300watts 24x7, a poor quality cheap powersupply can peak at 300w but will catch on fire if it "sustains" 300watts.

edit: i just noticed you have a slim profile computer. that makes your options more slim and pricier. A 6570 isnt as powerful as a 7750 but its half the price and still should be a lot better then a geforce 610. Make sure the video card you get has 128bit memory bandwidth or greater.

Why is my childhood PC, an HP Pavilion 8665C, not booting or displaying video?

Alex, I know you have limited mobility but can you hear the HDD spin up when they do their self tests?Usually (in my experiences) a powered system with no (diagnostic) beeps is a motherboard that has memory modules/CPU dislodged from movement or damage in some form or the other to the mobo. Most recently the issues are blown capacitors.  With a machine with that age, it's quite possible that some of those critical components have reached the age of their life cycle.  Add to that, that I do know know the environment the computer operated in and how often it was cleaned and you have a multitude of answers.Just to show you what blown capacitors look like:This is not my picture but something I found on the web.
