HP system recovery software windows 8

When and how do I use Windows Recovery?

As far as I know, Windows recovery will be needed when 1. You lose your Windows OS2. When you accidentally corrupt the boot loader, changes in partition table and boot flags etc.3. Partition or format your C drive incorrectly. In simple terms, you need the Recovery to get back your Windows OS, which renders your computer in a state which is as good as new, i.e. if there's no backup, you lose all your software which you installed manually, (not the ones which came pre-installed). I did not have any external DVD to run the recovery, so that's why I say, it renders computer as good as new.In case you have the recovery DVD, insert it during boot up, and let it run and see the results. How to Create a USB Recovery Drive and Use it to Recover Windows 8/8.1 I hope this could help.

Is there any way to create an additional set of Windows 8 recovery recovery media if lost it once after creating?

As you can see from the other answers, there is more than one way to create recovery media. Several, in fact, depending on just what you are after. There are manufacturer programs and tools such as Phillip Remaker mentioned for HP, and there is a built in Windows tool for creating a recovery drive.Create a USB recovery drive - Windows HelpThere is also, as Thomas Moser mentioned, no real need to "recover" when you can reinstall from Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help And finally, if what you are really after is a full backup of everything, your programs, files, everything on your computer, just as it is this minute, that is known as a system image.  Here is an excellent article on that. How to Create a System Image in Windows 7, 8, or 10Caution: This is much less useful than it sounds. Consider: If you did a full system image 6 months ago, and your hard drive died today, how useful would that image be? Everything on the image is 6 months old. That means nothing you have done in 6 months is on it.  Sure, you would not have to reinstall most programs, but your past 6 months work is gone. This is why most geeks prefer to backup data only, on a very regular basis. I recommend no less than once a month, and it's best to use something like CrashPlan that does it every day. Or, equally valid, keep all of your ongoing work on a cloud drive such as Google Drive. In the event of a machine failure, we can always rebuild the machine/OS/programs as necessary, but data is beyond price. If it's gone, it's gone.

Where can I download an HP recovery disc?

You might not be able to do that because most of the OEMs (like HP are douchy and want to charge you for a disk). You can try to get one by claiming that they are supposed to provide media for the OS (they provide it on the HDD which is BS). They are obligated to provide one and, if you are crabby enough, you can probably get them to send you one for free. But don’t bother. The good news is that you don’t need one. You can download both Windows 7 and Windows 10 installation media from Microsoft and get the drivers from HP Technical Support, Help, and Troubleshooting for your machine. This is much better because that image will not be loaded with OEM crapware and bloatware and McAfee AV (one of the worst AVs around).
