What operating system are you using? In Windows XP, after going to the add/remove programs screen, click on yahoo messenger, and to the right you will see remove/change tab. Click it and follow the directions to uninstall. To reinstall go to http://messenger.yahoo.com and download the latest version. You may want to go ahead and remove Yahoo toolbar from programs as well . It will download it again when you reinstall messenger. Hope this helps. I had to reinstall my messenger as well. Mine is working fine now.
