My htc one screen is locked and I cannot remember the PIN, is there a way to over-ride it? Please help

Maybe you’re using an old phone for the first time in a long time, and you can’t remember that unlock PIN. Maybe your foolish friend tried to guess your pattern unlock, and kept trying longer than they should have done. Either way, you’re stuck – you can’t log into your phone. Thankfully, there is a surprisingly easy way to bypass the unlock screen, and it works on basically any modern Android device that’s been registered with your Google account. The control panel in Android Device ManagerHere’s how it works: Access the Android Device Center online. This website shows all of your Android devices and their last known locations. That part isn’t helpful right now, but you also get three options: ring, lock and erase. The middle one, lock, is what we’re going to use. The locking system is intended to prevent a third-party from fooling around with a found or stolen phone, but it also handily resets whatever PIN or other security is currently set on your Android phone.Re-locking your device with a new passwordSimply type in a new password, and hit ‘Lock.’ Your current PIN / gesture / password will be erased, and the password you set will be used instead. From there, you just have to enter that password onto your device, and you’re in!Reset success! From there, you can enter the security or lock screen settings menu to change your unlock code back to whatever you want. That was easy, huh?Let me know if this worked for you.Note: This isn’t guaranteed to work on all phones, but it does work for many models and it’s definitely worth a try. It’s also worth noting that isn’t at all useful for phone thieves, as they won’t know your Google username and password… so rest easy!

How do I unlock my HTC phone?

Depending on your HTC model, you can unlock it:1. by contacting your carrier provider and ask them to unlock it. They're obliged to do so. The downside of this is that you'll probably have to wait for your contract to expire.2. by Imei code- price depending on model and carrier, or3. by usb cable, method that takes about 10 minutes and it's far more cheaper. When searching for this unlock service, you will have to send some data about your phone:-Model-Network to which is locked-IMEI (can be found by dialing *#06# )You can find the best unlock services here : onlineunlocks.comPlease note that some networks and models have the factory unlock codes changed and are not supported. Does Android 5.0.1 Lollipop affect the battery on the HTC one M8?

If you are talking about having it affect in a positive way, yes.Disclaimer, I do not have a HTC One M8 but I have the M7 on Lollipop On my M7 I am experiencing up to 8 hours more standby time and I have discovered that there has been a great decrease in the number of wake locks my phone has in a day. For normal usage I can't say anything about cellular as I don't have a sim card inserted into the phone, but the battery drain when the device is in use has become much less significant.Worth the update, practically no drawbacks.

Blacklisted phone please help?

The ONLY thing you MIGHT be able to do is ask T-Mobile for the amount that needed to be paid, and pay it. Granted it will be much more than you paid for the phone, but it's an option. Not one I'd do.

Now what you do in the future is ALWAYS check the ESN or IMEI BEFORE money changes hands.

If the code comes back Financed (NEVER EVER EVER!), buy a phone that is being financed, that is a clear red flag that you are holding either a stolen phone, or one that the owner got on a great deal and is about to skip on the bill. And if phone is Blacklisted for any other reason, pass on the deal. Do not pass go, walk away. I buy second hand phones all the time, and always have checked to make sure the IMEI's were clean, by calling the carrier, now you can check for that online. And when the sellers ask why I want the IMEI number or tells me the phone doesn't have one, or they don't have time to look for the box to find it, I know, they know, I know what they are trying to do, and they normally just hang up on me.

Now that the US has pretty much taken the lead that Europe has done for many years (Blacklisting phones), scammers are having a harder time selling their "found" aka stolen cell phones at super great deals, I say it is about time.
