Christmas gifts for pet mouse?

Yes, one of the mouse forums has pages upon pages of toys you can make for little or no cost along with what they call, MESs (Mouse Entertainment Systems). These are structures the mice can climb on made out of popsicle sticks. (They are also great for chewing, just use non-toxic glue.) The links to the threads showing toys and MESs are as follows:

I am sure your Poppy will be thrilled with whatever you decide to make, especially if you build a MES. Merry Christmas to you both.

What songs do you like to sing in Christmas?

One of my all time favorites is “The Holy City”, or also known as “Jerusalem”. The melody is amazing and the lyrics are beautiful. Our school choir would include this done every year for carol service, where one of us would sing the verses in a duet with the choir master, and the choir would sing the chorus. Last year, I was selected to do the duet and it was one of my most cherished memories thus far.Other songs I like to sing is “Carol of the Bells”, the choral arrangements are just so beautiful, all the different lines just flow into each other and creates this glorious and busy sound.(can’t find a decent video of this song, you will just have to take my word for it.)Lastly, “Believe” from The Polar Express, the movie might have caught a lot of hate for its animation, but its closing song, in my opinion, is absolutely stunning. This song just gives me a feeling of peace and quiet content which I associate with Christmas.

If my family could get along for one day.

Are you throwing any Christmas parties this year?

I did. But it is done now.I have a weekly Friday group at my house, women who enjoy socializing and also knit, crochet, or do other “needle arts.” Generally it is a group of 5–8 women, but the make up of the group changes week to week. This was our first year meeting here - we used to meet at a store until it closed. Once a month we have a potluck to celebrate that month’s birthdays.I wanted something a little different for December. We had no December birthdays. I told them i wanted a tea party and everyone liked the idea. We also decided not to have it on a regular Friday. And they wanted it early in the month so as not to interfere with the holidays. It was a popular suggestion. We ended up with thirteen! My house isn’t huge, so it took some planning and manipulation to get us all at a table. But we did. We had a ton of food. We did some gift exchange. And we had a lot of fun.So, it is done now. LOL

Do you attend a community Christmas concert?

This isn’t really a concert as such, but it is a community Christmas event and the parish choir does sing at this event, so I hope it counts.Every year at the West Wagga Catholic parish, an event called “Come to Bethlehem” is held. This event is basically a reenactment of Bethlehem around the time Jesus was born. There are donkeys, sheep, goats and even camels. It is held for three days prior to Christmas day and a ton of work goes into preparing it.I have been involved in this for around eight years and every year, some of my siblings, my father and I, man the Jewish School. We dress up as students, my father as a Rabbi, and recite the Hebrew alphabet and other bits and pieces. We also hand out sheets of paper with Merry Christmas in Hebrew along with a piece of scripture also in Hebrew.Other tents or stalls include a paper-making stall, a family tent, a carpenter’s shop, a pottery tent and even Herod’s palace. And of course, there is also the manger with a newborn baby as the child Jesus alongside Mary and Joseph, and the three wise men.Overall, this annual event is a huge hit and every year, thousands of people come to see what it might have been like for people 2,000 years ago.Sources:‘Bethlehem’ being recreated in Wagga for ChristmasWest Wagga Wagga Catholic Parish

Why are model trains associated with Christmas?

I think because in the mid 1900"s that was a very popular Christmas gift for kids. so then they would build a track around the Christmas tree and i guess it just stuck with the tradition.
