I accidentally drank a cup of salt water, what will happen to me?
Nothing. At the verry worst, you might be a little more thirsty.

I was supposed to be gargling salt water for a sore throat and i wasnt really paying attention to what i was doing and i swallowed like two swallows (i know that sounds really stupid). Will anything happen to me? I know it makes you dehydrated. Should I just drink a few bottles of water?

I got a water out of my fridge & Took a huge drink. I soon realized it tasted disgusting I managed to spit some of it out but I swallowed most of it. It turned out the be a bottle of epsom salt water that my cousin uses to clean her piercings. I have no idea how it got in the fridge but can it hurt me in anyway?

Do it over a long period of time (few hours or days) and you’ll die from cellular dehydration because the extra salt will draw out water from your cells and you die.Swallow a bit of salt in water and you’ll be fine. Eating a plate of salt cod or Fries from MacDonalds … will put more salt into your body than accidentally swallowing a bit of ocean water, or even drinking a large glass of it (but you did say accidental didn’t you?).
I think I accidentally drank water my cat drank. Will this make me sick?
Several years ago, I had a feral cat (Snoopy) that belonged to my Mother but was in our care when she went to live in a retirement home. That cat was wild. We had an old ceramic cistern water dispenser that I started to change out one night. Our intent was to drain the ceramic bowl and replace it with a new fancy hot/cold water dispenser. Since there was still water left in the ceramic bowl, I left it on our kitchen counter, overnight, figuring I’d either drink it or water plants with the remaining H2O. The next morning, I poured a fairly large glass of that remaining water and drank it all down quite quickly. Immediately, I noticed an odd smell to the glass and quickly inspected the ceramic bowl. To my dismay, I discovered that sometime in the night, Snoopy had peed in the bowl. So, to answer your question, you’ll be fine if all your cat did was have a drink.
What can you eat or drink when you accidentally swallow salt water?
I would suggest you swizzle something fizzy or something flavoured in your mout and swallow as it will flush your throat as well, or even gargle. It may take some time to feel like eating if you have swallowed a lot of water. Dune

1. Epsom salts is completely the wrong thing to take for diarrhoea - it will just make it worse. It is a laxative. 2.
