I Am 157cm What Size Should I Buy

What racing ski size should i have?

How old are you? If you compete in FIS / USSA sanctioned events, then your skis must meet FIS minimum size requirements. If you are still K1 or K2, your skis meet minimum sizing (130 cm). If you are junior age, 14+, your skis are too short. J2 mens and all junior womens minimum is 155 cm, J1 and FIS minimum is 165 cm

That said, the advantage always goes to the shorter ski in slalom. Slalom racing is a test of turning, not speed, and shorter skis turn easier than longer skis. You will notice that all world cup racers ski on the same size slalom skis (165 cm), no matter what their body size is. Almost all racing leagues, from regional or club groups, university, or FIS have equipment regulations in order to add fairness to the sport. We want to determine who is the best skier, not who has the best skis. Check with your coach to determine if your ski length is allowable for your league, and ask his/her advice on ski length and type.

What size snowboard do I need?

If my math is right, you're around 6 foot 3 inches. I'm 6 foot 1 inch and 190 pounds, and I ride a 157cm board, which is a bit shorter than a shop would recommend.

So for you I would say a board around 160cm would be a pretty good bet. Remember, the shorter the board, the easier it will spin and turn, and the longer the board, the faster it will be and the better it will do in powder.

My luggage dimensions (L+W+H) are 157 cm, but the maximum size mentioned in the airline (Emirates) is 150 cm. Will this be a problem?

Don't screw your head so much thinking about 5cm. no body checks till the suitcase look obnoxiously big size and heavy , they are more bothered about kg. Just chill and plan more important things then this.

Whats the ideal snowboard size for 5'7 155lbs?

Since you're just going to freeride then just get a freeride/freestyle combo. Since both freeride and freestyle compenents (board, bindings, boots, etc) are interchangeable they can all be used together. This affords you more flexibility on what you should buy.

I would recommend a wide board (assuming your foot size at or over a Mens size 9) and a length of 155-160cm. I think your best bet would be to get a 157cm wide freride board. Something like this:

As far boots I think Salomon makes some of the best boots in the industry, although I currently own Northwaves. And I have always used Drake bindings but I think Burton makes some pretty solid bindings too. If you plan on snowboarding for a long time, then buy quality equipment. You get what you pay for, so if you buy low-end stuff it will need to be replaced after a year or two. If you get quality gear it will last for 3-4 years of solid riding. The goal is to buy quality equipment on sale. Summers are always the best time to buy snowboarding gear, but lately some of the best prices I have seen were at:

How many k g should i be i'm 157cm tall and 40 kg .?

that's enough. just a right amount.

your height and weight has a balance dude. u got nice body XD

I am 5'2 (157cm).. is a Burton 149 snowboard too big?

Well for one nobody can give you an accurate size on height alone You need to take into account a few things your height, weight, riding conditions, riding style"all mountain, freeride, freestyle",foot size and skill lvl
Once you get those nailed down you can narrow down your board genre and size, Generally people go largest on freeride boards for stable carving and float in pow, Mid range for an all mountain board and smallest for those park rats.

That is why just picking a board between your nose and chin doesn't work and is a huge mistake, If I was looking for a more backcountry oriented board I wouldn't just pick a board between my nose and chin cause I'd want extra length in the board to help for stable carving and float in pow, samething works for picking a board for the park/freestyle, I wouldn't just pick a board between my chin and nose for it, I'd want to focus more on a shorter end board to help with maneuverability, butters and just dorking around on runs.

Some simple guidelines you can follow as well is remembering that the longer the board the more stable it will be for you during high speed carves and float in pow, the shorter the board the easier it'll be to maneuver around and butter.

You can use this site to find a size range however with time you'll learn whether you like a shorter or longer board for certain types of riding.

Is height 157cm short?

Is it short for what? It’s very short indeed for a mountain. It’s extremely tall for a mouse.I am 148 cm tall. It’s short when it comes to reaching my kitchen shelves; I keep a little plastic step to help me.It’s short enough that crowds can be difficult because people don’t spot me and I can get quite squeezed. It’s pretty good for fitting through small gaps and not bumping my head on low ceilings. It’s about the right height for resting my head on people’s chests. I get a nice eyeful when I hug women. And it’s exactly the right height for me, because it’s my height.
