I Am 17 And Want To Move To Manitoba

I am 17. Should I move out?

I moved out when I was 17, but my parents wanted me out and told me for 17 years they wished I was dead and had never been born....so I was lucky. No one stopped me from moving out!I would say you have several choices. I would go ahead and rent a place and start spending more time there while you have the safety net of having a place with your parents. Don't tell them you are moving or renting. Just have your own place and spend time THERE, away from all the screaming and yelling. If you can manage the rent and expenses you will see if it is truly something you want to do. Then when you are 18 all you have to do is pack your bags and move what few remaining things you have at home into your apartment. Don't tell them anything. Just do it. You are obviously responsible, and have the money saved up. Once you are in the new place and feel the freedom, you can decide whether or not to tell them. If they control you until you are 18, just bite your tongue and endure the next few months. At least having your own secret place will give you the space and peace you need to make it through the next year. Good luck!

Does anyone think winnipeg manitoba is a bad place?

I used to live in Winnipeg for 6 years; half of it in the North End. Did you know that Winnipeg has the largest number of aboriginals outside of the reserves?

There are soooo many crack houses in the neighbourhood if you want to get some hoot, or else phone to have it delivered -- it's dial-a-dealer in Winnipeg. There was a drive-by shooting in the neighbourhood once. And a prostitute was found dead and naked in a back alley dumpster. Anybody remember that? Her name was 'Talia, I was told. I saw here working the corner one morning as I went to the corner store to get groceries. It was raining, she was completely soaked and white as a ghost, and she was shaking like she was sketchin'. Four days later I hear on the news that she was murdered the night after I saw her working the corner.

Indian Posse are north of the railway tracks. Their rival, the Native Syndicate, are south of the railway tracks. In the West End you have Somali gangbangers called the Mad Cowz -- its members had a fallout amongst themselves and some broke away to form the African Mafia. Now both gangs have it out for each other. The West End is a red-light district, just like the North End, except the North End hoes are predominantly Native and the West End hoes are white. And when I lived there, there was a newly invested Hell's Angels chapter in Winnipeg.

Each city has it's dark underbelly -- even pure and clean Winnipeg. You just have to know where to look.

Best way to drive from Toronto to Winnipeg by car via Canada?

You can do this drive easily in one shot. Or you can devide it up into two if you don't like driving over 12 hours in one day. There are many places to stop on the way. All you need to know is one thing. Most of Canada's major cities are connected by the Trans-Canada Highway. What you have to do is get on to the 401 to the 400 to the 69. 69 will take you to the 17 which is the Trans-Canada highway. You will travel through North Bay, Sudbury, Seiux Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay. All will have everything you need including food and lodging. They are all nice places to visit. Lots of gas will be needed. Watch out for animals on the road, like moose.

Is driving from Toronto to Winnipeg preferable through Canada or the U.S.?

The drive through Canada between North Bay and Thunder Bay along the Trans-Canada Highway is the worst drive of my life. It's a 2-lane highway with nothing but trees on either side for what seems like endless hours, and much of the traffic is logging trucks, which means you'll spend an eternity driving behind one of them. If you try to pass one, you’ll have to time your move so you don't run head-on into the steady stream of logging trucks coming from the other direction. And when you do manage to pass one, you’ll slip in front of it and right behind… another logging truck! Hours of fun!Drive through the USA. Don't be like several family members and friends who ignored my advice and deeply regretted it.

If you are 18 and American, can you drink in Canada?

Technically if you're in one of the 3 provinces with a legal age of 18 then you should be able to drink. But bars here in Calgary (Alberta) are very wary about foreign driver's licenses. They've been burned too often with fakes they'd have no way of knowing looked fake and even legitimate driver's licenses from countries where the date is written differently. An 18 year old from Oregon was visiting my niece a couple of months ago. When he was out at family dinners in restaurants his ID was accepted. When he joined the other 18 year olds and tried to get in to the clubs he was refused entry about half the time. They wanted additional ID and said if his US license was legitimate then he should have a passport. He was way too smart to risk going out to a club with his passport(!), so they’d just go on to a different club. The law is based on the land you're standing on, not where you're from. When my niece moves to BC next fall for University she goes back to being under-age.

Buying Sex toys in canada?

Sex toys occupy an odd legal status: they are legal to own at any age, but generally illegal to buy if you are under 18. That at least goes for toys sold in sex shops: in some US states, pharmacies can carry "therapeutic aids" if they are in "discreet packaging". So basically, it has to be a small, nondescript vibrator in a package that only says "personal massager" or something along those lines. I am not sure about the legality of buying those under 18, but I believe it is legal. Store policy may require patrons to be a certain age, but the cashier will happily tell you if you ask.

If someone gives you a sex toy, it is legal to own and use to your heart's content.
