I Am 17 Years Of Age And Will Be 18 In On May 11th. Do I Have The Right To Leave Home And Finish

Leaving home at age 18? What can they do?

Nothing legally. But here's my experience as a Step Parent. My husband's daughter decided to move out at 18 and she did. Guess what? She could BARELY make it alone with a ROOMMATE PAYING HALF THE RENT. Then she decided to live off guys and ended up pregnant, gave the baby away for adoption. She's now 25 working at a $7.50 an hour job, unhappy and regrets "running away". You can NEVER run away from yourself.

Good luck in your decision. >>>>

Oklahoma law? Legal age to move out.?

Without the approval and help of your parents or legal guardians you would have to be eighteen (18) years of age or be judicially emancipated.

Oklahoma law provides authority for minors to request judicial emancipation. Statute provides as follows:

"The district courts shall have authority to confer upon minors the rights of majority concerning contracts, and to authorize and empower any person, under the age of eighteen (18) years, to transact business in general, or any business specified, with the same effect as if such act or thing were done by a person above that age; and every act done by a person so authorized shall have the same force and effect in law as if done by persons at the age of majority. Okla. Stat. tit. 10, § 91 (1973)."

What can I legally do at 18 years old?

When you turn 18 the United States government legally sees you as an adult. You can;
Vote
sign a legally binding contract (like an apartment or car lease)
get a credit card and open your own bank account
get your CDL license (Comercial driver's license for operating semi's or other large trucks)
buy tabacco products
buy lottery tickets
buy a rifle or shotgun at WalMart (if you pass the felony background check)
Goto a strip club
can drive past midnight or later (depends on where you live, but some places have a night and morning restriction if you under 18. Once 18, you can be on the roads whenever you want)
Can get an assult charge for kicking someone
Can be sued
no one else is responcible for your action except you (if you screw-up, your parents do not have to accept responcibitly for you anymore, meaning you are left holding the bag)
Can goto jail (no more juvie)
Can be married in any state (some states allow marriage before 18 with a parent/guardian signature)
can join the military (with high school diploma)
Can get a tattoo or piercing without a parent present
basically you don't need your parents for anything but you haven't established any credit yet so you will probably need them to co-sign on an apartment for you (or you will need a hefty deposit).

At what age can parents legally kick you out of the house in the United States?

Well, since the ‘law’ stipulates that an individual is an adult at the age of 18, and is legal in all states in the United States, the ‘legal’ age that parents can kick their kids out of the outs is just that….18 years old.Of course, depending on the attitude of some kids who think they know it all and make outrageous and unruly and ungrateful emands on their parents, that could be even at an earlir age, even if it would be illegal to do so and the parents could be charged with chile abuse or improper parenting.I like the claim my dad made when I was a kid and would get unruly or mouth back when told to do something. He’d say to me…’I brought you into this world. I can damn sure take you out of it just as easily’. If nothing else, it got my attention, let me know who the boss was and where I stood in the ‘pecking order’. And there were no rules or laws back then that would get him into trouble of any kind for speaking to me like that. But that’s back when people know what sex they were by age 4, kids were to be seen and not heard, and when seen they’d best be doing something productive NOT destructive or they’d get one hell of an ass whoopin’. And those kids grew up to be ‘men’ and ‘women’ who could deal with life and didn’t need any ‘safe place’ when things got a little ‘iffy’ or hard to deal with at the moment. Now what do we have??? A nation full of whiners and snowflakes. Something the wolf in the storybook tale of the ‘Three Little Pigs’ could have blown over or down with only half a breath and a sever case of COPD.

If I was born in 1996 then what year do I graduate high school?

Graduating from high school isn't determined by your age. It is determined by when you meet the requirements for high school graduation. You can determine if that is sooner or later or at the same time as your classmates.

Ovary removal without consent, can I file a law suit?

Hello,
My name is Tia, I am a 17 year old female, turning 18 on July 11th.
A few years ago, in 2012 of February, I had a dermoid cyst removed from my left ovary.
They showed us a photo of the cyst, but it looked abnormally bigger, a couple weeks ago I went to the drs complaing of severe pain, not having a period for 3 months, and prior to that not having one for two months. I also told him that when I do get my period it's very heavy and very painful.

Well, he ordered me an ultra sound and blood work. I went into the office, and was in the room getting my ultra sound done. About 15 minutes in, the lady told me that she could not find my left ovary, but could see my right ovary clearly.

She also checked my ultrasound results from 2012, and she told me that it was labeled that the cyst was removed my right ovary, not the left.

My mother called my gynecologist asking if my left ovary was removed, turns out it was.

What gets me is that the surgeons and nurses told us they may have to take my left ovary out, if complications occurred, but instead after the surgery they told us they left it in.

Here's a summary:

- I did not know they removed my ovary in 2012, until now.
-they lied and told us that they left the ovary in.
-on my 2012 ultrasound results it says that the cyst was on my right ovary, not my left.

I want children, it will be very hard to have children, and this basically ruined my future plans for children.

Can I file a lawsuit?

Can a 17 year old move out once graduated from high school?

ok so heres the deal. im 17 and graduating from high school in june. i have read that i am legally free from my parents once i graduate. My parents were gonna let me move out now they wanna keep me home which i have no desire to do. I will go to court if i have to but i rather not. My parents are emotionally unstable right now due to some of the recent events. Can i move out once i graduate and if not how will i be able to?

My parents don't let me live my life and I am 23 years old. What should I do?

As others have said, you put yourself in this very undesirable situation because by being financially dependent on your parents at an age when a young adult should be providing for himself, you have aided and abetted your parents in making you their hostage, and keeping you as such. You've never had a job before? Well, there's a first time for everything and you are long overdue on this important step. Get out there to look for a job that will earn you enough income to be self-supporting. If you are unwilling or unable to do this, or if you'd rather make excuses for why you can't than to try, you will probable be stuck where you are, completely dependent on people who see you as a child in dire need of their constant supervision and suffocating rules. The choice is yours.
