I Am A 4th Year Electrical Engineering Student. With A Group 5 Within A Year We Need To Make One

Worried about studying engineering (gpa / field)?

Hello I have a question about studying engineering. Im about to go into my senior year in high school. Right now the engineering field entrigues me, as i enjoy problem solving and design and structure, etc. and it leaves so many open possibilities. I am particularly interesting in going to law school after undergrad to become a patent attorney. This is where my GPA worries come in.

I have heard that engineering is very difficult and i am willing to accept that. I have also seen that law schools dont care at all if you majored in sociology or engineering. If LSATs are same, a 3.3 in eng will be rejected while a 3.5 in socio will be accepted. That general idea is what i have been hearing. How do you do well in engineering to avoid this probnlem? Im very worried about it, as ive heard constantly how hard engineering is.

Also, how do you pick? Mech seems very cool, but Electrical seems to be what everyone wants. Ive also heard environ. engineering consultants can do very well. How to pik

Compared to other engineering disciplines how hard is industrial engineering.?

Hi guys.

I Just finished first year in mechanical engineering and my marks werent very good. I passed all my courses and kept my Gpa out of the academic probation zone. The problem was that I couldnt grasp alot of the concepts that were thrown at me, especially the ones related with mechanical engineering such as fluid mechanics and heat transfer. So I just recently transfered into the industrial engineering program. I am not afraid of the work load. I took engineering because I find it interesting. I am just wondering now compared to mechanical and other disciplines, how hard is industrial engineering and Is it worth the time to take it and get a bachelors degree in it. I have heard industrial engineering being called "imagenairy engineering" and not engineering at all. So I am just wondering if someone can tell me how hard is it compared to the other engineering disciplines and is it worth majoring in.

thank you

Compared to First year engineering how much harder is 2nd year engineering?

Hi guys

- Before I ask my question, I would like some proper informative answers from professionals in the field and people pursuing the degree, Thank you -

hi guys, I am currently pursuing a undergrad degree at the University of Windsor for Industrial engineering. As any average person I felt the heat in my program and saw my GPA take a large hit. I n high school i was an honour student and when i went to first year engineering, I found it hard to keep up with the pace and found many of the subjects rather boring and complicated.( chemistry, thermodynamics).

I still managed to pass out of first year without failing anything and a bit above the minimum GPA i need ( GPA 2.2). What I would like to ask is, how much harder is 2nd year industrial engineering compared to first year. For the first semester i have to take : Intro to business, vector calc, matlab, engineering and enviornment, electrical computing fundamentals, and engineering management and globalization. Alot of my friends who are in engineering are telling me its unbelievably hard and that the workload and the concepts are going to be as twice as hard 2nd year. At the same time I am hearing things from older students about Industrial engineering being easy. I am a hard worker and I will do what it takes to make it out with a degree and some knowledge.

I really like the program and enjoyed the courses like physics but i am just wondering how much harder is it going to get this year and next years. Also, is there any study tips you can recommend so i can improve my marks and enjoy my university experience.
