I Am A Dental Surgeon In Bangladesh Want To Practice Dentistry Or Work As A Dental Surgeon In

Who owns the a patients dental xray? The patient or the dentist? Our dentist wants to charge me $50/copy.?

As a practicing dentist I can tell you that the dentist does in fact "own" your x-rays. What you paid for was to have the x-rays taken and processed and for the dentist to "read" the x-rays. We are required by law to keep a patients original dental x-rays on file in our office just as you would the patients dental records even if the patient switches to another dentist. You are allowed to request a copy of your records and x-rays at your own expense to cover all of the duplication charges, but the dentist is required to keep all originals by law.

Dentist damaged my tongue. what should I do?

After 6 months... if the numbness is there still... it will not ever return (usually). You should go to an ENT specialist and oral surgeon for an evaluation. I would not go to an oral surgeon that SHE would send you to for THE OPINION. One connected with a major urban teaching hospital would be a best choice. [ i.e. Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic etc.]

Time to fully address the problem and the situation. I would check with the state board to see if there are other complaints about her practice. This is not a little thing... a malpractice consideration is clearly at hand.

She has steered you to a prolonged time period that was inappropriate! The longer the time that passes the more opportunity she will have to blame someone or something else... esp. if you don't have other persons involved in the assessment ongoing. You will be shocked at how there will be no supportive documentation in your favor "from her" in the end. I hate this... she should have reacted totally different from the begining... that is why I have a bad feeling! A trusted good attorney will be necessary.

Good Luck!

Diffrence between orthodontist and dentist?

Yes, they are totally different. That is like comparing apples and oranges. To become an Orthodontist, you have to do additional 2-3 years of specialty program after dental school. The competition to get into Ortho school is extremely tough. I used to on the Orthodontic residency admission board and for 4 seat, we used to screen about 400 applications. Yes, some general dentists do put braces but I have seen some nightmarish results in my Orthodontic office. I wish American Dental Association, restricts general dentists from doing half assed Orthodontic treatment. They think it is easy to straighten teeth but it is not. If I sound mad at the thought of general dentist doing braces, you bet I am. In my humble opinion, Orthodontics is more than straightening just the front 6 teeth. An Orthodontist is trained to make sure there is best possible function and esthetics.

Do yourself a favor, go to an Orthodontist and not a general dentist posing as an Orthodontist. You can contact me and I will let you know a top notch Orthodontist in your area. Hope that helps. Thank you.

Retinal Detachment?? Scared as hell..?

Hi vinny.

Look if the only constant thing you notice are floaters then I have news for you. Practically everyone has them. They are debris that exist in the eye. You are noticing them sometimes because they started moving around. When one crosses the center of your eye it will cast a shadow onto the retina. That's what you end up seeing.

Normally floaters can't move around because the gel that fills the eye is solid. However if you over-work the ciliary (focusing) muscle it will heat up quite quickly. This softens the gel inside your eyeball and these floaters are then able to float around.

Having all this happening is a sign that your mind is in a rush, that you're over-working your eyes or just tired and your eye is not able to keep a consistent focus. When the eye struggles to keep something in focus it starts to shudder back and forth. The ciliary muscle will then be over-working big time when doing this.

If you want to stop seeing floaters then do the right thing and stop the activity for at least a minute. Give a chance for your eye to cool down again. Once you've done that you should be able to see again (minus the floaters).

So remember a distressed mind + tired over-worked eyes = floaters.

BDSM. Bondage and Discipline, Domination and Submission, Sadism and Machoism. It is a lifestyle. Some like it to various levels and depths and others don't.

Yes, I did answer your Q at the other one about the "sl*t" thing....but deleted it cuz I was not sure if I should keep it on according to YA Guidelines.
