I Am Afraid Of Interviews How To Get Rid Of This Fear

How can I get over my fear of interviews?

During my campus placement, job interviews were always a huge headache for me, because I lacked oratory skills during those days. I was a meritorious student with a good CGPA, that’s why I was eligible to sit for all companies that visited our campus. And no matter what they asked, I cleared all written tests. But when it came to face the interviewer, I used to become numb, blank out, blurt and I even used to forget my own name. That was the kind of fear I had of interviews. And in no time, I became popular among classmates by the name “Choker”. Because despite having full knowledge and wisdom, I used to choke in the final rounds. But today, time has changed. During 7 years of service in corporate world, the table has turned; from interviewee to interviewer. And now, I realize what I expect from people and what were the mistakes I have made during my job hunt.Let’s start with FEAR. To make my point, let me explain with the analogy below:Scene 1:You are kept in the same cell as a lion. Now, what will happen? Before lion makes any move, you will die of heart attack.Or, lion will thrash you into pieces in no time. Now imagine, instead of lion you are kept with a sheep. Then there will be no fear. No matter how hard the sheep tries, you will never lose battle to it.Scene 2:Coming to the first scenario again, you are kept with the lion with enough defense, where you can protect yourself. Fear will be there, that one wrong move and you will lose the battle (as well as your life). So even if you have enough defense, but you don’t know how to use them on time, again it will cost your life.Scene 3:This time you have practiced enough and you are prepared to take any challenge. You know what will happen? This time you don’t care about the result, you will not care about the battle. You will fight. And you will give 100%.So, it doesn’t matter whom you face, be it a lion or sheep. You should know how to fight. You should prepare hard.Learn from other people, what mistakes they have made and try not to repeat those mistakes.Know your opponent and their strength. And whenever you go for an interview, research.Only defense (Oratory skill) won’t let you win your battle, you should know how and where to use them. And one has to understand that braveness is not the absence of fear but rather the strength to keep on going forward despite the fear.Everything you want is on the other side of your fear.

I am very scared to give an interview, How can I get rid of this fear?

Interviews can be the smoothest or the most daunting experiences of one's life. They can fill you up with self-confidence or can nip your spirits from the buds. It all depends on your approach towards it. If you sit back in overconfidence, you are prone to failures whilst if you research and prepare for the interview in advance, you may outshine yourself. Preparing for an interview in advance is absolutely essential if you really want to get selected. However, people are often puzzled in this regard. They don't follow a well-organized method for preparation which is why they end up in panic right before the interview. You need to be smart while preparing.1. RESEARCH: You must be aware of the company you have applied to and the job role you have applied for. Before going for an interview, visit the company’s website and familiarise yourself with its goals and objectives, awards and recognition. Also, study the latest news and the core values for the job profile for which you've applied. When you frame your answers in inclination to the company’s goals, it makes the employer feel that you value and believe in the objectives of the company. It will mellow the employer’s approach towards you and give you an advantage over others.2. DRESS CODE : Your attire is the first form of communication that you reflect on your interviewer. It forms the first impression and as they say “First Impression is the last impression”.You must keep in mind to wear formal attire in a formal setting. Never dress casually for an interview. A well-ironed dress with hair neatly done is crucial for every interview. It is advisable to plan and arrange your attire in advance rather than procrastinating it to the last momentTips:https://mindgrad.com/f/7-tips-to...

I have had anxiety about death ever since I was in 4th grade... I am now a senior in high school. I am scared because I fear the thought of there not being anything after death. I feel like we just sit there in our coffins and are buried in the ground and it being completely black. You cant hear, see, nothing. and that is for infinity. I developed panic attacks and I have them almost everyday. My parents wont put me on medication. It is consuming my life and I need it to stop. I try to believe in an after life but it so hard to believe in something that I can not physically see. What do you recommend to get rid of this fear? any proof you have of god or afterlife? and scientific proof that god is real? bc if god is real, so is the afterlife/heaven. How to get rid of my fear of hurdles?

Umm, this may sound pathetic but I have a fear of jumping over hurdles. It started in 6th grade in gym when we did hurdles and I fractured my knee. Ever since I've been afraid to jump over hurdles. A few months ago I had to jump over hurdles again in track and I freaked out right before I jumped and hit my knee really hard and it turned black and purple. :( I'm also really short so hurdles are not my thing. But my track coach signed me up for 100 m hurdles in the next track meet... I don't know what I'm gonna do. D: I'm not really scared of them I just CANNOT jump over one. Please help if you have any tips that would be great thanks.
