I Am Getting Boils And Don

Why am I suddenly starting to get boils on my body?

I am glad you asked this, it may not be the following, but it is worth considering as a possibility...There is a condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa - it is a chronic skin condition that is not well known by doctors that manifests itself with recurrent large pimples and boils under the arms, under and on the breast (if female), in the bikini area, on the insides of the thighs and in or around the anal area. It can appear on other places on the body as well. It tends to begin at puberty or after. It can happen in one or more of the aforementioned areas. It is not caused from a lack of hygiene. It is not an STD.
It tends to run in families, but this does not mean that one cannot acquire it out of the blue. Researchers are trying to figure out whether it may be an autoimmune issue. It is classified as a rare disease, but I am finding out about more and more people who have this - sufferers have been silent about it because the boils tend to happen in private areas.
Apply warm packs to the area - if it gets painful, have it lanced.
You may want to go to the sites that I have included below for more info - I am a sufferer myself and because it is rare and most doctors don't know about it, I am desperately trying to spread the word.
Also, avoid refined white sugar and foods that contain a lot of it, especially candy and sodas (try Diet Rite Zero, it's good!), avoid fried foods (opt for baked or broiled)and canned veggies (I eat the flash-frozen ones in the baggies). Also try stress mangement techniques, since it seems that a lot of stress will also cause flare - ups.
There are also HS groups in Yahoo Groups, as well.
I hope this helps, God Bless (hugs)

Why do i keep getting boils?

I'm 18 years old. Male. Never done drugs. Have no STD's. Don't have diabetes or anything like that. I keep getting boils all over my body. My thighs, legs, chest, armpits, groin, butt, and I have no idea why. I thought it might be my soap or body wash, I've tried every type of body wash and I stil get them. I've changed my diet to healthier food, still get them. They are excruciatingly painful! I'vebeen to my doctor the says they're normal. But I get up to five at a time. All in different areas. Can someone please help me. Why do I keep getting them? How do I prevent them? What's wrong with me?

My daughter has been getting boils. Can you help me get rid of them?

You don't generally get a lot of boils- generally you only get one or two. So the first thing would be to take her to the doctor and get it confirmed that that is what these are. Boils are usually caused by a staph bacteria, getting in beneath the skin where it doesn't belong. The best way to deal with them is the simplest, but applying moist heat directly to them to encourage them to drain on their own. They heal a lot faster that way. While you are waiting for it to drain, and until the skin is healed, each boil should be covered with a bandaid. Antibacterial soap is not more effective than regular soap, truthfully. Showers are also better for you than baths as well- in the bath you sort of sit and stew in a bacterial soup of sorts, and if you have a skin infection of any sort, it just spreads the bacterai to new spots. For bathing, it's also better to use a bath scrubbie than a washrag. After the bath, you can disinfect it in a bleach/water solution, or give in a minute or two in the microwave while it's damp. Then hang it in the sunlight and air to dry completely. Your daughter also needs to wear loose clothing, made of natural materials- not man made synthetics. Synthetics hold body heat and moisture against the skin, both invitations to infections of the skin. For the rest of her, air and sunlight are the best things to get- so if she can get stripped and into sunlight, even through a window, that's helpful as well. Make sure she has a good balanced diet, with a multivitamin/mineral supplement. What you eat doesn't give you boils, but it does affect how easily you can fight off infections and heal the skin afterwards. Boils arn't from being dirty either- in fact you can break out from being too clean. So give the twice daily baths a break there- once is plenty. But above all, take your daughter to the doctor. You need to have it confirmed that these are true boils. If they need to be lanced, the doctor can do that, and also give her an antibiotic if it's needed. Just don't go poking and prodding at them, and don't put on any kind of potions. The skin is capable of handling infections, and that's what is going on in the boil at the moment. Let the body do it's job, and don't try to help aside from the heat. Messing with is is sure to cause things to be worse, and can leave a nasty scar behind. So leave that to the doctor. Good luck, hopefully they will drain and heal, and go away soon.

Boils on inner thighs?

You need to call into work and go to the doctor tomorrow first thing. I get those sometimes too and sometimes they have just gone away, but I just had one recently that KILLED and I literally was in so much pain I could barely walk. I went to the doctor and they said it was a skin infection and people can literally lose limbs if they ignore it and don't get it treated. You need to go tomorrow. They might need to cut it for you to drain it, it will relieve the pain and they will most likely give you anti biotics.. I am not saying for sure you have the same thing as me, but don't let this drag on and get worse at work tomorrow, And when she said people can lose limbs I am sure she meant if they ignore it for a super prolonged period of time, but it was enough to freak me out. She said I should have been in their long before it got to the size and amount of pain it was... you will be fine just go to the doctor tomorrow. PLEASE!!!

What is causing the boils/abcesses in my armpits?

The Dr. told me it was when my sweat glands don't open right and when I put on roll on deodrant it clogs them. Then I shave and cut open the pores and they get infected causing theses painfull things. I stopped shaving (yea a little gross) and stopped wearing deodrant for while but still got them. I switched to spray deodrant as the Dr. recommended but to no avail. Also I had MRSA when I had to get the 3 I had drained. Do I still have the virus and thats what causing these boils/abcesses? They have been very painfull and usually rupture on their own after a week or so, but I am left with holes that continue to drain for week. Then I just have a hole left scarred in my armpit.
