I Am Going To Mexico For A Couple Weeks And Want To Bring My Cell Phone Will I Get Charged

Going to Mexico... without warning Probation Officer?

i have a question, i was arrested for grand theft and got out of jail about two weeks ago (spent 45 days in jail). My buddies want to take me to Mexico next week, but i know my PO Officer isn't going to let me go. I know somebody who has the same PO Officer as me.

Well I plan on going and leaving on the same day, and was wandering if i skip town and go to Mexico, will my probation officier somehow know? I live in California BTW. And I'm Asian (so i dont look Mexican at all).

I heard when your going to back to CA, the guards will slide or process your driver's license and something will show up. Is that true? Can i just bring my US passport?

And what happens if i get caught (worse case scenario), do i get held back in Mexico?

How much cash do I need to bring if I'm traveling to Mexico City for 3 full days from the US?

Well honestly, depends on your plan. How much or how little you want to spend, you can make it with 500 to 5,000 pesos. Most places accept credit/debit cards. If you’re going to eat out 3 meals a day, those 3 days expect to spend around 200–300 MXN Pesos per meal (you can of course, get cheaper options or way more expensive). If you plan to buy souvenirs, most places accept credit/debit. If you’re paying cash then around 1,000 MXN pesos.Transportation, I recommend Uber. Avoid city taxis. In total, I wouldn’t recommend using cash for security reasons (not a good idea carrying too much cash with you) so probably 3,000 MXN is fine.

I am traveling to Mexico for a day and taking my iPhone 4S . My plan is unlimited without international travel. If I turn on airplane mode, will that turn off services to not incur extra charges? If not, what should I do? I want my phone if needed for emergency.

I have never used this option before, however, as far as I understand, if you select Airplane Mode, your cellphone won´t have any signal, and therefore, shouldn´t generate any extra charges. In case of an emergency, you could simply switch airplane mode off, which could mean you could get extra charges for those few seconds. Also turning off the Mobile Data in the Config Menu should spare you of extra charges

Is it easy to bring a little bit of marijuana into Mexico for a week long trip?

Since the legalization of marijuana for recreational use in California on 1/1/2018, the Mexican government has been very much more vigilant in checking arrivals for marijuana using drug sniffing dogs at the pedestrian border control checkpoints. There are signs on the road, one reminding people that marijuana is illegal in Mexico , the other that Mexico does not permit medical marijuana.A friend of mine who lives here in Ensenada and has gone to San Diego monthly for years to bring back to Mexico a monthly supply told me that when he went in January, he tossed what he bought because the Mexican customs agents in charge of the passport control have started to use dogs in the crowd of people before they eyen enter the office. He wisely chose to return home empty handed rather than risk the possibility of spending time in the notorious prison in Tijuana.Don’t do it. Practically the police don’t do anything if you have under a kilo. But the Customs Agents are a while different matter and they are the ones with the dogs.

How should I bring money to Mexico?

I suggest you just take your ATM bank card and use it in Mexico to withdraw money from the ATM's found in all shopping centers & next to banks. I used a Bank of America ATM card on Santander ATM's (near the bank) and do not get charged with all the fees they pile on top of it. You can also notify your bank that you will be using your card to withdraw money, so that they will not lock you out of your account (never happened to me). It is also good because it gives the best current exchange rates and dispenses it in pesos, making it easier and convenient for you to spend your money and comes out in reasonable denominations of paper currency. One thing about the ATM's, you have to take out the card when it tells you or after one minute or so, it will "eat" the card and not return it; so it's better if you have another ATM card with you. It happened to me in Cuidad Juarez.
I have used traveler's checks in the past (the 1970's), when on vacation in the United States and that's more of an old school idea, but to each his own. If you can find some business that will accept them, I'm happy for you.

Prepaid cell phone for Mexico?

A friend and I are meeting in Mexico for a week of pyramid climbing. Our current cell phone plans don't include Mexico, and would be a hefty fee to change over, and we'd have to change over forever, not just for a month. We're looking for a prepaid phone that would work in Mexico for us to call each other and/or call local numbers in Mexico (not to call home to the states). All the websites I find on it say to bring an old phone and reprogram it. Neither of us have one. We don't want to spend $80 for phones for a week. Any other ideas? (more info in discussion)

Will metro pcs phone work in mexico?

Metro PCS definitely does NOT work in Mexico. And except for one company's phones, they (including the companies in Mexico) will cost you a small fortune to make or get international calls. Your very best option for cell service in Mexico is a company called Mexitel Cellular. They send a phone to you before you leave and have 2 plans for visitors to Mexico - a flat 25 cents per minute or $1 per call, depending on the plan you select. Text is 20 cents. Can't recommend them highly enough - we won't go to Mexico without one.

How many mobile phone can a person bring from the USA to India without any custom duty?

Hey I just landed from United States in Mumbai and here are the duty limits So Ideally you shouldn't exceed 45000 limit and you will be good to take the green channel. If you have more than 45000 you will have to enter the red channel. So if you want to get phones please keep them in your pocket and not cabin baggage or checked in luggage. They will be scanned. Also if you have done the mistake of keeping them in checked in luggage you can look for a X mark on your bag. Usually those bags will be scanned and opened. So if your bag has an X mark, take the phone and keep in pocket. So the basic model of iPhone will not be charged duty if you just get that. So permissible limit is now around $700 bucks as shown in figure above. Anyway if you need any more help/advice message me I will be glad to help :-). Good luck.

What should I bring on a trip to Cancun Mexico?

If you're going to a resort and are old enough to drink, bring you're own cup... one of the coffee cups with the lids and some straws because theygive you small cups that have to keep refilling. Camera obviously, batteries, ALOE VERA (I got badly burned even wearing a high SPF sunscreen), a deck of cards is always good, if you want your nails and toenails to stay cute the whole time bring along some nail polish. CHAPSTICK!!! If you don't know any spanish try to learn some good spanish phrases like "How much does this cost?" and things like that. A large bag for souvenir shopping. obviously cute summery jewelry, your normal toiletries. If I can think of anything else, I'll write them in here.
