I Am Having Really Sharp Pains In My Right Side And It

What causes a sharp pain in the right side of my head?

Headaches can cause a dull throbbing or an intense ache and pain in different areas, including the right side of your scalp, base of your skull, and your neck, teeth, or eyes. While headaches can be uncomfortable, they are unlikely to be “brain pain.” The brain and skull don’t have nerve endings, so they won’t cause pain directly. Instead, a wide range of factors can affect headaches, from lack of sleep to caffeine withdrawal.Causes of headaches on the right sideHeadaches are most commonly caused from factors like:stressfatigueskipping mealsmuscle problems in your neckmedication side effects, such as long-term use of over-the-counter (OTC) pain medicineInfections and allergiesSinus infections and allergies can also cause headaches. Headaches resulting from sinus infections are the result of inflammation, which leads to pressure and pain behind your cheekbones and forehead.Excessive use of medication to treat headaches can actually cause headaches. This is the most common secondary headache disorder, and it affects up to 5 percent of the population. Medication overuse headaches tend to be worst upon awakening.Occipital neuralgia: There are two occipital nerves in the spine of your upper neck that run through the muscles to your scalp. Irritation of one of these nerves can cause shooting, electric, or tingling pain. This pressure can cause other symptoms such as vision impairment, shoulder or hip pain, jaw pain, and weight loss.Trigeminal neuralgia: This is a chronic condition that affects the nerve that carries sensation from your face to your brain. The slightest stimulation on your face may trigger a jolt of pain.Other causesMore serious causes of headaches that can occur on only one side include:traumaaneurysmtumors, which can be both benign or malignant (cancerous)Only a doctor can diagnose the cause of your headaches.

Sharp pain in lower right side under rib cage?

Under the right rib cage, or part of the rib cage, are the liver, gall bladder, first part of the small intestine, the muscles between ribs, the diaphragm, the linings of the ribs and the lungs, etc... Sometimes it is irritation of a nerve, or of the lining of the ribs or lungs, that leads to brief sharp pains.

Pain under right rib cage Symptoms

The intensity of the pain underneath the right rib cage may range from mild to severe. It often tends to radiate through the upper and middle back. The ache may last only for a few minutes or a longer period of time. Deep breathing, coughing, sneezing or running may aggravate the condition and cause acute discomfort.

Having sharp pain in lower right ribcage and right neck under collar bone when breathing deeply help?

Hey, just a few thoughts..

1, I have a "pneumomediastinum" aka, a small amount of air escapes from your lungs or esophagus and gets trapped in the chest wall, causing pain when inhaling. its a very sharp stabbing pain. it lasts a few days, and usually resolves on its own, and is spontaneous. If this were the case, you should go to the ER as it can affect your heart.

2. Another thing that comes to mind is pleurisy. That means the lining of your lungs may be inflamed. It can be both sides, or in your case unilateral. Try taking motrin or ibuprofen which are anti inflamatory drugs and see if that helps, but you should go to the Doctor for that as well, because that can be caused by an infection.

3. Your gallbladder is under your ribcage on the right side, and if swollen or infected can cause severe pain up your chest and even into your neck. You could have a bad gallbladder, or a gallstone.. If your gallbladder becomes swollen it can rupture which would be a painful death. I am not trying to scare you but you should go to the doctor.

Only you can decide if the ER is necessary, but you are better safe than sorry. Also, thanks to Obama, Hospitals have charity care, or reduced fee assistance programs. You apply for it after your er visit and you submit proof of no insurance and what you make monthly and they will cut the bill down a lot. I had a $35,000 bill from that pneumomediastinum i mentioned and it was reduced by 100% which was a HUGE burden lifted off me.

You cant put a price on your health, please go get checked out!

40 weeks pregnant and having sharp abdominal pain on my right side....what is it?

When I was 40 weeks 2 days pregnant I had the exact same thing. It turned out to be contractions. I went into labor that night. I first noticed the one sided sharp pains when I was cooking dinner, 5 PM. My parents had come over for dinner and we were sitting around chatting afterward and I noticed it getting slightly stronger, 7PM. My husband and I were sitting on our bed talking and my water broke, 8 PM. I bet your hoping that this is what it is! I would bet money on you going into labor today, based on my experience! Best of luck!

7 weeks pregnant and a sharp pain on my right side?

ok, so I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant with child #2 and I have gotten sharp, kinda stabbing pains on my right side over the last 2-3 days. they don't last all day and they come suddenly, then stop. My stomach itself does not hurt and I have no bleeding, indicating a miscarriage.
I do NOT remember feeling these types of pain with my dghtr...although she is 8 now so it has been a while so I don't remember everything bout being pregnant with her. Should I be concerned about these pains and be seeing a Dr? Or is it normal. As i said, there is no bleeding so I am not super concerned..but do want to be sure this is not a sign that something could go wrong

Why am I getting sharp pains on one side of my butt?

Oh, totally a pinched nerve. Sciatic to be specific. That's what Sciatica is. You have to try to get the muscles to relax around it. It's a weird, difficult thing to get rid of. As a man one of the things that helped me was not putting my wallet, or anything, in my back pockets. It sounds silly, but it's huge for me, and that problem specifically. Another thing I didn't learn until later in life was the 'hips above the knees' rule. Especially if you sit a lot for work. Whether you're on a chair, couch, bed, floor, whatever, put something under your butt, so that the line of your hips is above the line of your knees. That's helped my back and posture in general. Good luck.

How can I treat a pain on the right side of my head above my ear?

I am writing this based on 30 years of my own experience of reducing migraine headaches sans medicines. So, this is a proven method, which can be used by all migraine-affected people, with zero side effects. It reduces the frequency of migraine attacks substantially, for sure. Here is my simple but very very effective remedy to prevent/reduce migraine headaches:always cover your eyes with a good-quality pair of sunglasses & also cover your head with a comfortable cap/hat, whenever you go out in the sun/in any kind of glare. Wear the sun-glasses & the cap/hat all the time when you are outdoors, or when you feel that the glare is too much to bear;Eat something at your daily-intake times, without exceptions. What you eat & how much you eat is secondary. What is vital is to feed your stomach at regular intervals, or at/around the time you normally consume food everyday. This eradicates the ill-effects of bile & prevents headaches;Do not keep awake late at night. Ideally, a 11 pm to 6 am sleep is desirable. Also, try to stick to your daily routine, to the extent feasible & avoid erratic daily routines as far as you can;Keep stress as low/less as feasible. Try your best & then, accept the results coolly. Worrying over what is beyond your control is a invitation to migraine headaches;Have more fruits, salads, nuts & other natural foods. Avoid processed/non-veg./fried foods, or consume as less of it as may be possible; For peace of mind, do meditation (focus on breathing) daily, morning & night. Vipassana meditation is very good;Keep this attitude as regards the results, after putting in your best efforts: 0% expectations & 100% acceptance. This will reduce stress & thus, reduce the frequency & intensity of headaches. Do your best & then, accept the outcome with grace & equanimity. This attitude will reduce headaches.
