I'm 16 years old, and I'm in desperate need of of a job. Are there any ideas? I want to work from home.
Well my dear 16 years young why do you want to or are desperate for a job or work from home to earn ? There should be some solid reasons behind it. You are only sixteen and you should try and concentrate in your studies, get more educated in which ever field you are interested in and then think of earning. I feel sad to know that kids like you who have media connection wants to earn. This means that you are from a well to do family and have suddenly got disenchanted by your parents income or rather feel like earn a living for yourself on your own. You are too young to think on these lines as you seem to belong to India and here the children are always taken care of by their parents or elders. It is my advise to you that you should get more educated so that you can earn what you want to if circumstances permit. Be happy and enjoy life. Best of Luck !
I'm in desperate need of a job. Now what?
Have you tried the gas stations? Fast food places? Open the business section of the phone book, start with "A" and just try calling every place in there and see if they are hiring. Your problem might be in your presentation, too. Do you speak in a formal and polite tone when you talk to potential employers? Do you look clean and presentable? Do you call back after sending your resume or speaking with someone, to see whether they've had time to think it over? Is your resume well-written? (Do you even have a resume?) Also, ask around. As everyone you know. I heard on the radio yesterday that the majority of new hires were recommended by friends and family who already worked at the business.
I desperately need a job, NOW!!?
I barely have any experience and no one wants to hire me. I am a college student with a very bad OCA (Office of career advancement) and my GPA is a 3.3 (I am not proud of). I have two months of working in a office and one month working as a cashier. The only skills I have is quick-books, accounting principles, math, organization, and filling. I'm a sophomore in college. Please help, I need money for college and rent. P.S - I been unemployed for over a year, I applied to Chase as a teller 7 times and was denied the same amount :(
What should I do as I desperately need a job?
Life has always been about a FIGHT. Concentrate on one thing- your job. This is the thing which will keep you independent throughout your life. There will always be someone who will respect for who you are. Meet new people. Increase your social interaction. Start fresh. Focus on new things. Start social work, if possible. Whatever you are going through is not the worst. There are people who are sleeping empty-stomach. Your problems are nothing in front of them. One last thing- Keep reading Quora.
I'm a college student in desperate need of a job?
I need money now. I've been applying since January when my seasonal position ended and I haven't been able to get hired ever since. I've applied to a million places but nobody has called me back. I've only gotten about 4 interviews(3 of which were at the same company/different location) and all of them ended with "We'll let you know if something opens up" etc etc. I'm sure my appearance is what kept me from getting a couple of these jobs but there isn't much I can do about that. My summer school schedule requires me to be in school from 9 to around 3 so it's possible that nobody is willing to hire me because of that. Should I follow up on the application after applying online? I have a total of about 8 months job experience in retail and education at 18 years old. What should I do? I need a job now. My money is running thin and it probably won't last until the end of the summer.
What should I do now ? desperate finding a job ?
Civil engineering is one of the professions you need a license for, right? Which means you'll be looking for apprenticeship type positions? Call the companies that you sent the letters to. Say something along the lines of "Hello, this is Max. I'm calling in about the resume I sent on April 11th. I wanted to make sure that your firm received it and to see if there were any questions." If you send out anymore resumes, make sure that there is a cover letter included. Go to recruiting events on campus. Create accounts on places such as Monster.com and post your resume and cover letter there. The key is to keep pounding the pavement. It takes some experienced workers months to find a new job.

Help finding a job, I'm desperate?
Without work experience or college, you PROBABLY (small chance you will so not impossible) won't get a great job aka jobs that require cover letter, resume, etc. Now for "lower grade" jobs, my advice is forget about online applications, these places are getting applications tons and you will be competing against a bunch of people and the online database will prioritize people with experience. You need to walk in semi-formal dressed, less than a suit/tie but more then jeans/t-shirt. Ask for an application and then try and speak with the manager, remember the manager is busy so don't talk too much but ask about whether they are hiring and etc. Also i'm quite sure you are but if you aren't, apply to fast food places also. I'm saying this because I know a bunch of people my age who refuse to work there because they feel they are higher-class or something. At the very least, you get paid the same as generic retail/supermarkets, you will get some work experience if you wish to switch later, and at the very least it makes you respect people that work at fast food places more. For example if you ask for no tomatoes because you simply dont like them, just pick them off dont demand them make you a new one. Also if you have any friends/people you know that work nearby, recommendations can do a lot.
