I Am In The Ukraine And Wish To View As Many Engish Channels As I Can. Can Anyone Advise On The Way

What do you think about Ukrainian girls?

Ukrainian girls look their best anytime, anywhere: full makeup, fine dress, carefully chosen accessories. Men a scarce in Ukraine, and you never know when you’ll meet one.Ukrainian girls are direct. The question “what’s your car” reads as “are you rich?” and is too direct even in Russia. What should I tell? “I drive an ice cream truck, why?”You should take care of her. No matter what, splitting the check is an insult. A bank manager, a Regis manager — no way. They know why foreign men come to Ukraine. If you’re a foreigner, you’re probably are looking for a wife or, worse, a sex tourist. Which one is more probable? They look at your face, at your shoes, done. You’re classified. Why?My analysis is highly subjective based on the anecdotal evidence. It’s based on the experience of:Living in Kiev for one year (and being single at the time)Living in other world capitals from Tokyo to New York (still being single)Running a dating agency with many Ukrainian women.Running a series of video interviews to answer exactly the title question (not published yet; contact me if you want to make the post-production and publish them in your Youtube channel). But…Of course, each person is different.Once you see a girl, put all generalizations aside. I’ve met several great personalities in Ukraine; they could be from different parts of the universe. Among those I knew personallt:A buddhist, Osho followerA Playboy model who runs a showroomA Femen activistA bank manager (yeah, I charge the cash to ATMs, she said. Later I’ve learned she manages a branch.)A manager of an office center (piece of her advice: beautiful girls don’t go to the night clubs, they go to private parties and presentations)A girl who surprised me with this question: when spaceships pass the stars, what’s after?A girl who meets the guys on the dating sites (not the one I used to work for) and asksA bachelorette party that went wrong, girls first trying to rape me, then fighting the limo driver.Should I stop here? I should. My point is, the personality is everything, Ukrainian or not.

How can i upload a History Channel documentary to YouTube without it getting immediately taken down for copyright infingement?

I want to upload 2-3 documentaries to youtube, just to share them with others. I am not seeking profit of any kind.

I see a lot of people post copyrighted content such as documentaries on youtube and they've been up for years. They're usually of poor picture quality etc. So i doubt they have rights to these videos.

All i want, is to upload stuff like: History Of The Bermuda Triangle, Top 50 UEFA Champions League Goals, Alcatraz Hell On Earth etc.

How is life for international students in Ukraine?

International students love Ukraine.I am an international student in Odessa and I've been living here from last 5 years.Odessa is a big city and there are many universities filled with international students, they all feel safe and most of them love Odessa more than their hometowns. I have never faced any safety issues or racism.I have traveled in Ukraine and have friends in almost all states of Ukraine and they also feel the same way about Ukraine.About language, I started learning Russian after coming here and by the end of first month i was able to buy things from markets, greet people, use public transport, etc.Russian and Ukrainian Languages were compulsory subjects in my first 2 years of medicine and after finishing those two years i was able to communicate about any topic nicely. Learning a language is not easy and it depends on how much time you give to learn it. I have some friends who speak Russian just like any other native and i also have some friends who still ask me to order a taxi for them even after living here for 5 years. Being friends with native speakers is the most effective to learn any language.Public transportation in Ukraine is great. Yes it varies from city to city, for example if you are in big cities you have many options like Shuttle buses, trams, trolley buses and even metro in Kiev and Kharkov but even in the smaller cities you can use it on daily bases to get around.Taxis are relatively cheaper than other European countries and if you use them they won’t burn your pocket. If you are rich you can buy a car to move around.Life in Ukraine generally varies city to city. I feel Odessa fast, kiev is faster and when i visited Nikolaev even locals looked like tourists.

Would Ukrainians be happier If you talk with Russian or English?

I personally would be much happier if you talk to me in Ukrainian, actually I’d be so surprised and pleasantly impressed.“Wow, there is a foreigner talking to me in my native language, how lovely!”(take it as the thought of every normal Ukrainian)But, on the other hand, I understand Russian is more known and famous as it is one of the international languages, and since Russian is a mother tongue for me as well, I’d be glad to hear Russian speech. Also I’d be so happy to meet someone who speaks English in my town, because it is such a rare thing! As for others, particularly in my area or all over Ukraine, you won’t find as many people speaking good/ fluent English, but nearly all of them speak Russian. So, of course, if you are planning to come here you’ll have to communicate to local people, and my advice is DON’T choose English as your communicative language, you’ll struggle looking for someone who understand that alien language.

When I listen to an English news radio program, I can follow every word, but I can hardly understand the news as a whole. What should I do to solve this problem?

If I understand your question, you seem to be saying that you lack context for the words you read. A number of years ago I was sitting with 2 young people from Ukraine. Both of them lived in the USA for at least 10 years, and spoke English well. In the course of conversation, the subject of the Vietnamese War came up. They were both clueless about both the nature of the war and, more importantly, it's affect on the USA. It startled me to hear that they didn't know about the Vietnam War; but more importantly, it made me realize that they would never understand the USA and feel a part of American society if they didn't make the effort to understand American history. The history is the context in which an understanding of any present news information is understood. Even the understanding of the differences of opinion in this country are part of the context in which the news is  understood. Nothing is "just reported" in the news, and the news is never just a collection of words to be understood. The meaning or meanings of current news is aways understood in context of the history of a country or region. So I would recommend reading and learning the history of America. There are many fine books and movies available. Most of these are free from a public library. YouTube has many interesting videos on diverse Anerican history subjects. In this way you can contribute to your own assimilation of both the news and the society.
