I Am Moving To A City 150 Miles Away From Where I Live Now And 250 Miles Away From My Family I Need

What is it like to move away from home and live alone as an eighteen-year-old?

When I was 19 or 20, probably 19, my mommy told me, "You pay car. You pay apartment. I go Hawaii now. Bye!"I stared at her in disbelief. I was working at Macy's earning about $1,800 a month selling women's shoes. There was no way in the world I could cover all these bills. I was completely freaked out, even though I didn't show it much. I started asking my friends what kind of work they did and how much they were earning. Yes, I was that guy. That annoying guy who gets into your personal business, even though none of that should matter. My friend John had told me he was working at Manhattan Beach Toyota. I said great, how much are you earning? He said $4k a month. I did the math. I could survive off that! So I applied. After a few interviews and a drug test, I was hired. I was excited that I could live on my own! Then, the cold hard reality kicked in. The first two months, I earned minimum wage. I couldn't afford to buy food, so I lived off the free popcorn that we provided to our customers. It was pretty darn depressing, but I was confident I could overcome it. Then, my manager sat with me. He had told me if I didn't sell 12 cars, I would be terminated. Then inspiration, mixed with fear had fulfilled me. I had to figure this stuff out or I would have absolutely nothing! So I put my all into my job. Then, by my third month, I was able to hit that target mark of $4,000 of which John spoke. I was free! I was saved! I could do as I pleased and take care of myself! So I did just that. Then I got into a friend with benefits relationship type thing with my best friend. We went out and ate and played everywhere. However, the person I loved with all my heart entered my life one day, so I let my best friend go. We then planned out marriage and all of that other fancy stuff. However, that just all slowly crumbled away as we became addicted to drugs. Then I just spent every day crying my eyes out feeling like a loser, because I lost everything I had. Eventually, I tried to make my own business. That failed. So now, here I was, with a ton of debt, no lover, no car, and an unhappy day each morning. Things didn't really get better until over half a decade later, but yeah. That's how it felt.

Where are the unsafest areas to live in within 15 miles of Washington, DC?

I am a single female moving from Philadelphia to work in the DC area. I heard that Prince George's County, MD was bad to live in but I wanted to know where else are the high crime areas?

What areas around DC would you not live in and please tell me why or what you have heard or seen on the news....

I don't make a lot of money but I am looking for a house with a nice sized lot for around $150,000... just so you know I'm not looking to live in an expensive area, but I still want an area where there is little to no crime.

Thanks in advance!

How long does it take to walk 50 miles?

ok first of all, the place u need to get to is probably 50 miles through the freeway and much much longer if you walk locally. It takes an average marathon runner 5 hours to run 26 miles that means average 10 hours to run 50 miles(if they keep same pace), thats 5 mph jogging constantly, you probably would walk about 2-3 miles per hour which is still a little faster than a normal relaxed walk if you do the math it should take about 12-16 hours to walk 50 miles. So its not worth it and biking 50 miles a day is not reasonable so just buy a really cheap car

btw randy said he walked not fast not slow 2-3 miles in 10 minutes, thats bull cuz that means he "walked" 1 mile in about 5 minutes, his calculations are all wrong

Moving across country?

So i am thinking about moving across the country (from pa to az), and i am fairly young, 21 to be exact. what things will i need to consider and how much money would be needed to save for this kind of move. i do have some relatives out there that will let me stay while i get on my feet, but i dont wanna go there and realize i dont have enough money. what is the minimum wage out there and the quality of jobs for some one with no degree, vs the cost of living? maybe i should jus stay where i am but i hate the winter. pls help

Two LORAN stations are positioned 248 miles apart along a straight shore.?

Part 1
For the first part of the problem, you only care where the ship reaches the shore. This will be at a point where the difference in time is 0.00086 seconds.

The distance that this time represents is
d = 186000 mps * 0.00086 sec = 159.96 miles.
This is the difference in distance from the ship to each of the Loran stations when it arrives at shore.
d1 = distance to station 1 from the ship
d2 = distance to station 2 from the ship

Since the two stations and the ship are all positioned on the straight shore we know that
d1 + d2 = 248 miles (1)

And from the Loran signals,
d1 - d2 = 159.96 miles ~ 160 miles. (2)

So, solving equations 1 and 2 simultaneously,
d2 = 44 miles
d1 = 204 miles

Since the problem doesn't state whether the signal from Loran station 1 is received before or after that from Loran station 2, we don't know which station the ship is closest to. So, there will actually be two answers, on opposites sides of the perpendicular line drawn at the midpoint between the two Loran stations.

Part 2
For the second part of the problem, the ship is 200 miles offshore and at a point where the d1 - d2 = 160 miles.

Here's how you solve this, you can do the work.
Draw a straight line parallel to the shore, but 200 miles offshore. The ship has to be located somewhere along this line.

Now, pick an arbitrary point on this line. Calculate the distances d1 and d2 from that point to each of the Loran stations. The ship will be located at that point where d1-d2 = 160 miles. Since the problem doesn't state whether the signal from Loran station 1 is received before or after that from Loran station 2, we don't know which station the ship is closest to. So, there will actually be two answers, on opposites sides of the perpendicular line drawn at the midpoint between the two Loran stations.

Hope this helps,
